Ahhhhh this took so long! I'm sorry!
I blame part of it on Band and school consuming my time, but I have to admit that even a couple months is too long!
The other part I blame on Writer's Block!
Well, I'm sorry again for taking forever! Here's the chapter!
II. Glimpses of a Past and a High-Speed Chase
Urotsuki's Perspective
I woke up on my balcony. Which is much different than a hospital room, I have to add. I casually entered my room and looked around. Same as normal. So I proceeded to exit out the door.
And into the Nexus.
How I got back here, I have absolutely no clue. Ever since I stopped living as a shut-in, these dreams quit occurring. I gazed upon the 14 objects that could take me to countless different worlds.
Hold up a second.
Fourteen?
As I recall, there were only thirteen worlds other than the one leading back to my room.
But there was an extra one. It was shaped like a bed. Not caring about the consequences, I hastily ran towards the new portal.
I arrived in an endless landscape filled with beds. More than half of them were empty.
Several of the beds contained various forms of me. Each of them appeared to be using an Effect. I touched one on the forehead-the one with the Wolf Effect-and the Wolf-Uro disappeared.
I gained the Wolf Effect.
After retrieving all of my Effects, I noticed that there was no exit. How peculiar. After loitering around in this new Bed World, I found that upon pushing the bed with the Chainsaw Effect away, an entrance appeared underneath it.
Well, you only live once.
With that thought in mind, I jumped down the gap.
I found myself in a new place with a strange, dark pattern. Thirteen doors were arranged in a circle. They each had a different pattern. One of the doors, the thirteenth, was set apart from the others. This piqued my interest. I leaped over to it, and yanked the door open.
Inside of it was a cozy little room. A red rug was laid out on the floor. An empty bed sat in the corner. A lonely desk and chair stood dutifully next to the bed. A door opened to a balcony.
Outside, the sky had a dreary, bleak atmosphere. I searched my surroundings for anything, when I saw a little silhouette. It was a silhouette of a little girl, and when I walked over to it, it jumped over the railing and plummeted downwards.
Since it might possibly lead to another world, I decided to follow.
It is just a dream after all.
Sabitsuki's Perspective
I decided on the only logical possible solution.
Run and get the heck away from here.
Or, rather, I flew. On a broom. The Broom Effect is very handy at times.
So anyways, here I am, flying away for my life, while being chased by the three Kaibutsu. Unfortunately, the dark looping world I found myself in does not seem to have any promise of escape. And the Kaibutsu showed no signs of fatigue.
At times like these, one should find the logical solution. However, my brain seems fully incapable of that at the moment. The only idea that came to mind was switching to the Ghost Effect. However, that was simply impossible. In the time it takes for me to disable the Broom Effect and activate the Ghost Effect, the Kaibutsu would catch up to me and possible kill me. And something told me that this wasn't an ordinary dream; my inability to wake up after pinching my cheek proves that point. Who knows what would happen if I died.
So
what else could I do? Running-flying-in circles isn't doing anything good. Perhaps…
I curved the broom into the air above me, so that I was now riding upside-down towards the incoming Kaibutsu. I saw them halt and stare at me in what seemed to be surprise (frankly, it's impossible to tell due to the lack of facial features). I shot past them, corkscrewing so that I was upright.
And it was then when I finally saw the exit: A gaping black hole floating in the nothingness of this world.
Without a second thought, I spiraled my way through it.
Well, I hope it was worth the wait!
