"I still don't see why we have to have our portraits painted," Ginny grumbled as she fiddled about with her uncomfortable dress and Daphne sighed.
"It's a Greengrass family tradition," Daphne said with some exasperation. "The oldest Greengrass child has their portrait added to the family vault with their husband or wife. And as I'm the oldest Greengrass child, it is my turn to be painted, with my beautiful wife."
"We're not exactly the most traditional family though," Ginny pointed out with a slight frown. Daphne leaned forward and gave her wife a gentle kiss on the lips.
"I know it's not easy for you love. But…I want you to be truly accepted by my family and this is the big one, the proof that they have," she said and Ginny sighed.
"Fine. But only because I love you so much," Ginny said with a mock pout. Taking Daphne's hand, the two women walked into the portrait room.
