A/N: Written for the Outside the Normal Prose Boot Camp Challenge, prompt #016 – xenon. It's a "perfect" metal since it has a full outer shell; perfectly happy where it is – which is how I used the prompt. Also written for the 100_poems challenge on livejournal, poem 46 and day 22, and for the 5,10,20,50,70,100 fandoms challenge, fandom 35.

Their Many Many Wishes
Sakura I – To Fly

(Clone-Sakura at Clow Country before her amnesia)

The desert sand clung to her dainty feet,
cloaked in her pair of wishing slippers
a polished white

But what she wished
was to fly

Where the sand wouldn't reach her toes;
where the sky wasn't so far overhead
the sun swallowed her sight.

She was supposed to be happy
in her little little land

But her wings were cramped;
her cage was too small to run
and leap into the air

And fly.
