In which the girls are bros and try to convince a female Robin of the undeniable truth of her crush on Wally West. And Wally overhears and plays along with it.
"Right... Sure you don't..." drawled Artemis, sharing a smirk with Raquel.
"I don't like Wally! Why is that so hard for you to understand?" Robin protested vehemently.
"Gee, I dunno..."started Raquel.
"You spend a suspicious amount of time with him, always tease him, you guys hug a lot, you always team up, you defended him multiple times, you start snarking every time Wally flirts or is flirted with by someone, he's seen you cry, you freaked out about the mistletoe thing, you're supposedly "only best friends". Shall I go on?" Zatanna, like the ever loyal friend she was snatched at the opportunity, listing one by one her undeniable pieces of evidence.
"That means nothing! I don't like him that way!"
M'gann stayed strangely silent. The other girls stared at her, realization dawning on them.
"Hey, M'gann, what say you?"
"How does our little Wonder here actually feel about it?" In response to this, Robin groaned.
M'gann bit her lip, fighting a smile. "Well... Robin, I have to agree with them," she said softly. Noticing the ebony's look of protest, she explained.
"You're happier when he hangs around with you. I can sense a bit of resentment when he flirts with us. And when he hugs you, it's the most beautiful emotion. I love just feeling it. You may be in denial right now, but I really do think you like him."
Zatanna 'aww'ed, as Raquel smiled softly. Even Artemis had to take a moment to restrain her squeal.
Robin, despite a softened resolve, still remained in denial.
"I know, Megs, but I just don't like him that way."
"Oh, come on! You totally like him!"
"Zee! I don't!" whined the acrobat.
"Who are we talking about here?"
Wally stood, leaning on the door, smirking. Robin's face reddened.
She squeaked.
"No one!" she all but shouted.
"Ooookay... So it's someone I know or have had direct contact with."
She clenched her fists.
"No!" denied Robin, face on fire.
"Well, it depe-" Artemis was cut off by a gloved hand over her mouth.
The acrobat's face burned as she realized how she had captured everyone's attention and she dropped her arms, clenching her fists again.
Wally raised an eyebrow.
"That personal? Wow dude, seriously? Chill. You know you can tell me."
"Oh but she CAN'T!" Zatanna singsonged, smirking at Robin's clear despair.
"I DON'T LIKE ANYBODY!"
Throughout her protestations, Robin's voice had risen in pitch.
"Suuure..." the wily speedster drawled.
"Hey, Wally, can you help us? We need proof."
"Well, for starters, you notice Rob's face?"
Artemis leered at the unfortunate acrobat.
"She's clearly worked up," explained Wally.
"Wally!" Her voice jumped yet another octave, a seemingly impossible feat.
"Also, you can see her hands clenching and unclenching- that means she's fighting the urge to flee."
"Wall-y!"
"Oh yeah, and her extremely high voice- telltale sign she's lying."
"WALLY! You don't even know who it is! It could be Klarion, or- or- or Kaldur, or Conner, or Batman, or even Roy!" Wally raised a skeptical eyebrow, smirking.
"Anyway, who's the lucky guy?"
"Well..."started the girls.
"I DO NOT LIKE ANYONE AND EVEN IF I DID I WOULDN'T LIKE-!" Robin clapped her hands over her mouth. She'd nearly screwed up bad.
"Last sign- she made a mistake. She's in love."
Robin was blushing heavily. All the girls in the room squealed.
"I knew it," hissed Artemis.
Wally smirked triumphantly, noting Robin's wide eyed look of betrayal.
"Traitor!"
"Whatever you say, Juliet."
"Thanks, WALLY, for that wonderful testimonial," drawled Artemis.
"Anyway, glad to be of service. See ya, ladies!" Winking, Wally sped off.
Moaning, Robin dropped her face into her hands. Squeals were heard all around.
Sorry! I've been away forever, I know. Ok, so I know that this is mostly a brother thing. But. Birdflash, guys. And okay, yes, this is a shameless excuse to post birdflash. I'm sorry, I'm done now. R&R!
