38. Epilogue

We were finally back home in Radiator Springs, I was so happy. I ran to my little shack to check on my bike. I stayed there for a bit, when I heard honking. I looked away from tampering with my half covered, half uncovered bike. "Wingo!" I exclaimed with joy.

"I came as I said." Wingo greeted then moved away to let another car drive beside him.

"Kyle!" I smiled.

"Sis!" Kyle greeted. "So where's this bike I have been hearing about?"

"Right here," I pointed to my bike.

"May I see it?" Kyle asked.

I nodded and took it out of the shack, uncovering it. The silvery-white sparkled in the sun with black streaks scratching in jagged ways all over.

"That is so cool." Kyle said; I pressed a button and a set of wings and engine popped out.

"Whoa!" both Wingo and Kyle exclaimed.

"That was not part of the bike when I last saw it." Wingo commented.

"I added it some days ago." I explained. I then heard lots of murmuring and look over to see that a crowd had gathered in front of Flo's V8 Cafe. "I am going to go check out what the crowd is doing." I put my bike away and ran over to the crowd without giving Kyle or Wingo a chance to say something.

As I got there, I noticed that matter was telling the crowd something; I went up to Mater's side. "So there we was, my rocket jets goin' full blast, McQueen hangin' on for dear life when suddenly them two nasty lemons come out of nowhere's, guns drawed." Mater was speaking of what happened on our adventure. "We was goners. But then, out of nowhere this beautiful spy car swoops in from the sky to save us!"

"That's a very entertaining story, young man." That was a pink minivan who spoke. Wait… were those two supposed to be out of gas in the middle of nowhere? I remember the vision of Van, the green minivan and husband of the pink minivan, Minny, using a GPS to help him navigate. They ended up lost in the desert. Apparently, the GPS failed him… or maybe not. How would they be here if the GPS failed. Then again, someone probably noticed them and saved them.

"Oh, Minny please. Come on!" that was Van. He was never the one to be easily amused, it was only Minny who was. "None of this happened. Rocket jets, flying spy cars." I was ready to rip his hood off for calling Mater a liar.

"No, you're quite right." Everyone notices Holley flying in on them. "It does sound a bit far-fetched." Holley lands on the ground.

"Holley!" Mater and I exclaimed.

"What are you doin' here?" Mater asked before I could. I just noticed that Wingo and Kyle had joined in the story. Mater quickly drives up to Holley, I followed.

"Hello, Mater! Hello, Silverwind!" Holley greets. "It's so good to see you again." And Finn had drove up next to Holley, followed by Kurt, Sanderson, and Rod.

"Finn!" Mater and I exclaimed.

"Kurt! Sanderson! Rod!" I exclaimed with joy and shock.

"Our satellites picked up an urgent communique." Finn advised.

"So you got-a my email." Luigi said.

"Oh, man, ya'll is goin' to have a great time!" Mater said, cheerfully. He then faces everyone. "Everybody, this here's Finn McMissile. He's a secret agent. Don't tell nobody." Then looks to Holley adding with love struck, "And this is Holley Shiftwell. She's…" he was interrupted.

"I'm Mater's girlfriend." Holley immediately announces. I looked around to see shocked expressions. "It's so nice to meet you all."

I noticed Guido dropping his for-lifts to the ground with surprise.

"Guido believe you now." Luigi translated.

"Whoa, honey." Flo gasps as she noticed something. "You got a nasty dent there."

"Yeah." Holley agreed.

"Was that from when you swooped in and you save them in London?" Van asked.

"Van!" Minny chuckles.

"What? I'm just asking!" Van tried to defend himself.

"Ah, don't worry." Flo spoke again. "My baby Ramone can get that fixed up for you in no time along with his apprentice, Silver." I flushed with embarrassment. I never mentioned I was a mechanic to any of the agents nor anyone but the town's folk.

"Yeah, sure thing, man. No problem." Ramone spoke up; he was wearing orange paint this time.

'Ramone and changing his body color.' I spoke to myself, with a shake of my head in amusement.

"Let me go get my tools." Ramone said as he was about to head to his shop.

"No. I'm keeping that dent. It's way too valuable." Holley said smiling at Mater.

"A valuable dent?" Lizzie spoke. "She's as crazy as Mater." That's Lizzie for you.

"Oh, those two are perfect for each other." Mack commented.

"There's one thing I still don't get." Lightning spoke up. "The bad guys hit me with the beam from the camera, right?" I nodded. "So, why didn't I…" Lightning tried to find the words.

"Explode in a fiery inferno?" Mater pitched in.

"Yeah." Lightning agreed.

"We couldn't figure that out, either." Finn said.

"Our investigation proved that Allinol was actually gasoline and Axlerod engineered it so when it got hit by the beam, it would explode." Holley explained.

"Wait a second, Fillmore." Lightning thought. "You said my fuel was safe!" Everyone gazed to Fillmore.

"If you're implying that I switched that rot-gut excuse for alternative fuel with my all-natural, sustainable, organic bio-fuel just because I never trusted Axlerod, you're dead wrong, man!" Fillmore had exhausted me from speaking a long sentence with no breath. "It was him!" Fillmore pointed a wheel to Sarge.

"Once big oil, always big oil." Sarge quickly glances to Fillmore then back to everyone, "man."

"Tree hugger." Fillmore joked.

Everyone then departed. I noticed King driving up to me, Mrs. King following. Kurt and Sanderson went off to speak with the others while Rod stayed with us. I notice he had a disbelieving look to him; I looked away in shame. "I'm sorry I went through the trouble." I apologized.

"She did great." Rod reassured them.

"So, she is an agent?" King asks; I nodded. I noticed King was quite confused. I then explained everything to him.

After I explained everything, King looked to his wife then to me. "So are you leaving?"

I looked to Rod, "I don't know. I want to see the upcoming race."

"The Radiator Springs Grand Prix is about to begin." Sheriff announced as the cars, from the World Grand Prix, lined up in pairs along the road; Sheriff leading them. I had raced up to Sheriff whispering to him, with my bike next to me. He gave a curt nod and I smiled. "All spectators, clear the starting line." I stayed next to Sheriff, quickly hopping onto my bike. I quickly turned it on as we moved forward. I revved the engine. I eased up on the break and the bike started to move.

Behind us, a black car spoke to the yellow car, next to him, "I can't wait to get rockin'. This is gonna be wicked!"

"Yeah, we should do this every year." Agreed the yellow car.

"You know, I just figured we never found out who the world's fastest car is." Lightning spoke to Francesco. "Plus, no press, no trophy, just racing. The way I like it."

"Francesco likes it like this, too." Francesco agreed.

Lightning then stopped to the opening to Sally. "Francesco," Francesco followed McQueen to Sally. "I'd like you to meet…"

"SignorinaSally." Francesco greeted. "It is official. Lightning McQueen is the luckiest car in the world."

"Why, thank you." Sally thanked.

"Which he will have to be to have a chance against Francesco today!" Francesco boasted. He then waved a wheel and drove backwards, "See you at the finish line, Mc…" he screeched to a halt when he realized something. Lightning grinned when he knew what Francesco spotted. "What is that?"

On the back of Lightning was a sticker saying: KA-CIAO, FRANCESCO! "Just something I had made up for the occasion." Lightning answered as he faced Francesco. Sally was laughing.

"Is-a good, McQueen. Very funny." Francesco chuckled. "Was-a funnier when I did it, but it's-a very funny." Then he stopped laughing and calmly asked, "What are you going to do next? Are you going to take off your fenders?" a smile escaped Francesco. "Try it. You'll like it." Then he drove off.

"So, he's not so good-looking." Sally said as she drove up next to Lightning.

"Yeah. Nice try." Lightning joked.

"I'm serious!" Sally defended herself.

"That's why I love you, Sally." Lightning chuckled as Lightning headed on the track again. "Wish me luck!" Then drove away.

"You don't need it!" Sally called after him.

Flo drove next to her. "That Francesco is fine-lookin'!" Flo commented on Francesco's look.

"And those open wheels." Sally said, dreamily.

"I'm gonna have to go get myself some coolant." Flo said.

Meanwhile at the red traffic light, I was revving my engine to see if it was truly ready. I was placed at the rear by Sheriff but at least he let me in the race. As soon as the light turned green, we all were off. "Go, Lightning!" I hear the twins cheer. I rounded the first corner to the right.

Out at the desert, the yellow and black car paced more and more forward just to get ahead of each other. The blue car bounced all over on the side of the road, the dirt. I was pacing behind Lightning. Lightning and Francesco raced against each other with amusement. Francesco ended up in front of Lightning then tried to block him off. Lightning then swerved to the side with ease and took the front of the two again. We hit Billy's Butte track with Lightning in the front and me beside Francesco. All of us round the curved, raised turn. "Go, Stickers!" Sally cheered.

"Right on, man!" Fillmore cheered.

"Go get 'em, tiger!" that was Flo.

"Bravo, bravo!" Ramone chanted.

"Go, Lightning. Go, Silverwind, go!" Cheered Luigi.

"Go, McQueen and Silver!" Mater cheered, "Whoo. Hoo!"

Finn was on Mater's right and Holley on his left. Something rang and Holley looked to Finn. Sid had gently landed behind them. "Finn? Time to go. Siddeley's gassed, geared and ready to fly." Holley reported.

"You're leavin' already?" Mater asked, looking sad.

"We got another mission, Mater." Finn said. "Just stopped by here to pick something up."

"Somethin' tells me you're not talkin' about souvenir bumper stickers." Mater thought.

"Her Majesty asked for you and Silverwind personally, Mater." Finn said. "I already had Rod go get her."

"But I told ya'll before, I'm not a spy." Mater said.

"We know." Holley said.

Rod drove up to Finn whispering in his ear.

A bit later, I came along with my bike. "You want me, Finn?" I asked.

Finn nodded, "We are heading out for the next mission. Her Majesty asked for you and Mater."

I looked to Rod, "Do I have to go?"

"I am afraid so." Rod said, feeling my sadness.

"I lived here since I could remember. All these folk have been caring for me. What am I supposed to tell them?" I felt bewilderment build up inside.

"You can say your good byes in a moment." Finn added, gently.

"You can always come her to visit too." Rod said.

Finn looked to Mater, "Spy or not, Mater, you're still the smartest, most honest chap we've ever met."

"Don't forget massively charming." Holley added.

"Well, thanks." Mater said. "But as much fun as it was hangin' with ya'll, this…" We looked to the town's folk having an awesome time watching the race. I felt very sad. I really wanted to stay. "This is home."

"That's all right. We understand. But I'll be back." Holley said. "You still owe me that first date."

"If there's ever anything I can do for you, just let me know." Finn said.

"Well, I sure appreciate that. Thank you." Mater then had an idea. "Actually, there is one thing."

We gave that one thing to Mater he was happy. "Come one, Silver." Finn said. "Let's say your good byes then we are off." I nodded as we headed to the group. King was there along with the tuners and Kyle. All looked over.

"What's the matter, sis?" asked Kyle.

I looked down, "I have to go back to the agency."

"She will get more of her training done and figure out if there is a way to reverse what the lemons have done to her." Finn explained; everyone looked sad.

"Will we see here again?" Wingo asked, the others looked to him. Sheriff and the tuners looked at him with suspicion.

"She will come to visit sometimes." Rod said.

"You will make sure she will be safe, right?" Sheriff asked, with a hint of threat.

"We will do what we can to keep her safe." Holley reassured.

"Especially me." Rod put in.

"Is this truly your choice, Silver?" Sheriff asked, being serious. "You will leave behind being deputy and being Ramone's apprentice. Are you sure you want to leave?"

I looked to Rod, Holley, Finn, and Siddeley. I wasn't sure if I should give up a place what I considered home and go to a place I don't even remember. I looked to the town's folk and others; they were expecting my answer. "I...I want to know more about my past. I want to learn what I have already learned..." I hesitated. "... I... I will go..." I sighed. "Back to the agency... And get the help." I then looked to the agents then back to the others; sadness glazed their eyes, especially Wingo. I still don't know why he cares so much for an organic. Did he like me? But he should be with a girl who can stay by his side; I can't provide that. "I am sorry." I lowered my head as the agents and I headed to Siddeley.

Meanwhile, Mater dashed down the street with his rocket jets at full blast. "I'll ne doggone!" Mater hollered. Otis had been sitting in the desert since a while and when he saw Mater, he had no time to prepare himself, poor Otis screamed. Mater flung Otis into Ramone's body shop. "Thanks, mater!" Otis called out.

As Mater turned the corner of the track, he made the Stanly statue slip up, spin, then back to its original position. Mater caught up to the racers with ease. Mater quickly passed Francesco. "Impossible!" Francesco watched as Mater whizzed by him like he was nothing.

"Mater!" Lightning smiled as Mater caught up to him.

"Check it out." Mater pointed with his eyes to the rocket jets. "They let me keep the rockets."

"I'll see you at the finish line, buddy!" Lightning challenged.

"Not if I see you first!" Mater calls out to Lightning as he raced after him. "Yippee!"

Sid rose from the ground with Finn, Holley, Rod, and me inside. Then, he dashed away into the distant.
