Disclaimer/Summary: Don't own CSI: NY or Doctor Who or any persons, places, or plots therein. Just borrowing admitted Doctor Who fan Detective Flack for a glimpse into how he'll be spending November 23, 2013.
Flack couldn't think of doing anything or being anywhere better than where he was right now on this special Saturday afternoon in November. He almost couldn't find a place to sit; it was so crowded in the British themed pub. Yet somehow, there was barely any noise as everyone was glued to the television sets that were scattered about the place, all airing the same event.
The near silence was broken, however, by an argument that threatened to turn ugly between two men at one of the pool tables.
Flack was by the pool tables in a heartbeat. "NYPD," he announced, flashing his badge. "People are trying to watch the TV, you inconsiderate morons. So keep it down or take it outside."
"He started it," the younger looking man said, a tad childishly. "He said that David Tennant was the best Doctor and Matt Smith is the worst since Colin Baker."
The other man shot back, "I never compared him to Colin Baker, you liar. Just because …"
"Whoa!" Flack stopped the argument from heating up again. "You're kidding me, right? Arguing over who the best Doctor is? What are you, twelve?" He then told them, "Now sit down, shut up, and watch the Anniversary special like grown-ups or you'll be seeing the Christmas episode from a jail cell, understand?"
Both men nodded and found seats.
As Flack returned to his seat, he shook his head at the stupidity of some people. Arguing over whether David Tennant or Matt Smith is the best Doctor? he thought. Stupid idiots.
Everyone knows it was Tom Baker.
