A/n: yes, this is a poem. Please read it slowly, okay? =)

The Dark Night of the Soul:

As the darkness parts before me

In this ever changing night

The stars reach down and touch the trees

Whose shadows mask our flight

His wings are like forgiveness

As they settle over mine

While we pass above a clearing

On this sacred fire season's night

I hold the moon within my paws

And all the world is still

While his eyes hold the black of night

That's given us free will

The ruler's son succeeds the father

And over time, the leaves burn gold

As the family tree loses its leaves

And the young go on to be the old

But this year's yield has burned to black

And all the young have yet to suffer

But in between the young and old

Our age group is the buffer

Scale to fang to claw to wing

Our kinship valiantly rise and stand

And in the dawning of the day

The corrupt shall be reprimand'

But what of now, this night before me?

The time before the battle's begun

Is it our time to savor now?

Or wait until the war is won.
