Chapter 1

Juuban District, Tokyo – Present

"So you and I will be meeting Minako at Club Crown for it's grand opening tonight?" said Makoto as her and Usagi headed back to her place, having just left their lecture. Both girls were attending the University for Hospitality and Management. Makoto attended the classes because it had always been her passion, but for Usagi it was only something to do. Usagi's dream was always to be a loving wife to Mamoru and now these classes were the closest thing she could get to that dream.

"Yes, looking forward to it." Replied Usagi. "Did Ami or Rei say if they would be joining us?"

"Ami unfortunately has a clinical, and Rei says she will play it buy ear depending on how busy the Temple is." Ami was following her dream of being a Doctor, attending the same University as Mamoru had Keio University School of Medicine. Usagi was unable to visit her on Campus but Ami understood that it was just too painful. Rei of course was working toward becoming the head priestess of her family's temple. Studying with various Shinto Priests and Priestesses across Japan and returning to run the temple herself. Minako was on the road to becoming an idol singer like she always wanted. The girls were finally living their dreams in peace and Usagi was happy for them all.

As Usagi and Makoto made their way into Makoto's apartment. They dropped their books and bags onto Makoto's bed before heading over to her closet, looking for something to wear for the night ahead. Tonight they were attending the opening of Club Crown. They were going to support their good friend Motoki, who had quickly joined his family's business opening the club after graduating from University. 3 years ago they would have been going to support Mamoru's best friend, but since his death and the time ripple to their knowledge Mamoru never existed in anyone but the Senshi's lives. Still Motoki was like a big brother to Usagi and she would be there for him tonight.

"How about this one?" asked Makoto, shaking Usagi from her thoughts. "Do you think Motoki will like me in this dress?". She placed a strapless dark blue dress in front of her self. Even without Makoto wearing it Usagi could tell that it would be tight and revealing. It had been years and yet Makoto still had a huge crush on Motoki and Usagi had learned that the feeling was mutual due to the fact that both constantly flirted with one another. Usagi nodded in approval at the dress asking, "Why don't finally just tell Motoki how you feel?"

"Because all this flirting is fun." Said Makoto "Besides tonight isn't right, he will be super busy and stressed. Flirting with me once and a while is what will keep him from ripping his hair out."

"You are always looking out for others aren't you Makoto?"

Unknown – Present

Within the depths of a dark lair a youma sat on his throne. Born of the purest of evil he stared down as one of his subjects approached him. "Your highness." Said the subject bowing. "We have located the target. She will be at a place called 'Club Crown' tonight."

"Give her this" still sitting on the throne he handed his servant a decorated glass vile. "Make sure you get in her good graces before hand though or this will not work. She has lost the one she loves so it may or may not be easy to get her to warm up to you."

"I can use her broken heart to my advantage my lord. Play with her emotions until she is in my arms."

"That is correct." Said the youma. "Understand that you have to let what ever happens after you give her that vile happen, we need to make not only Sailor Moon suffer but also her family and friends."

"I do not understand my lord?"

"If it weren't for her family and friends strength she would have been able to do what she did. They must also pay the price for aiding her."

"I will not let you down your highness. Sailor Moon will be yours by the end of the night." With that the servant headed out to find Club Crown. Looking for his target, Usagi.

Juuban District, Tokyo - Present

"How nice does it feel to not have to wait in line?" said the two girls as they walked up the front door of Club Crown. As they made their way to the entrance those standing in line hoping to get in what surely would be the hottest club around. As the bouncer let them through the ropes they made their way through the corridor into the club. Lights were flying and the music was blasting so loud that they could feel the bass thumping as it bounced off of the walls. Across the room they spotted Minako and Rei waving them over to an open table right near the bar.

"You guys finally made it!" said Minako greeting both of her friends.

"Yeah!" said Usagi "Makoto had trouble finding the perfect outfit for Motoki."

"Of course, we have not seen him around here at all" said Rei "It is so packed though, isn't it great?"

"Amazing!" exclaimed Makoto looking around for Motoki. She spotted him coming through a door labled 'Staff Only' along with his sister Unazuki, who Makoto noticed was wearing the same exact dress as her. "Oh no!" laughed her three other friends. "I don't think you will be doing any flirting tonight." Makoto playfully put her head down in shame and defeat as the girls continued to make jokes at her expense.

"You guys made it!" shouted Unazuki coming over to the girls. She stopped shorted in front of Makoto and pointed to her dress. "Great outfit!"

"I know! I bet Motoki just loves it!" joked Minako. Makoto rolled her eyes and headed over to the other side of the club where she saw Motoki talking with one of his school friends.

"I think it's ridiculous that he couldn't come!" said Motoki's friend as she sat down. "I mean it's been a week, he must be settled into his new place and yet he couldn't take the time to come to your grand opening."

"Come on Yoshiaga, he apologized, plus he is busy with work." Said Motoki

"Who are you guys talking about?" asked Makoto

"One of Motoki's friends, never really liked that guy." Said Yoshiaga gesturing wildly with hands. Makoto suspected that he might have had one to many. "The guy gets a trust fund to be used for school and then what happens, he gets a full ride scholarship to Medical School in the States. You think he could remember who his friends are back home."

"Why don't we ask Makoto what she thinks?" gestured Motoki "If you had just started your residency at a top Hospital and it was important that you work, would you take off just to come to an opening of my club?"

"Well Motoki…." Makoto knew she should chose her words carefully here, she wanted to start one of her flirtasous conversation but she didn't want Yoshiaga to also start flirting with her. She really was not planning on having to fight off drunk guys like him all night. "It sounds like your friend needs to put his career ahead of other things right now and I respect that, so no I don't think him not being here his wrong."

"Ah your opinion means nothing." Said Yoshiaga "She doesn't even know the guy."

"Makoto I have to make my way around the room." Said Motoki stepping out from behind the bar. "Can you watch him and make sure he doesn't have anymore to drink, I promise I will be back I five minutes and have a car take him home."

Makoto nodded her head toward Motoki, though she was not pleased at having to now baby-sit a drunk. When she turned back to Yoshiaga she saw him taking another swing of his drink. She slapped his hand away saying "Uh uh ah! Your being cut off, now put it down." He looked at her but ultimately decided he was not going to fight and set the drink down in front of Makoto, who then handed it back to the bar tender. He returned with water and a bowl of nuts for Yoshiaga. "Now eat these and drink this or you will regret it in the morning."

"It is morning!" he said pointing to clock. It was in fact 10 past midnight.

"Well then you will regret it in the afternoon, now eat and drink up." Said Makoto. Yoshiaga did as he was told and she began looking around the room, hoping Motoki would soon return and retrieve his drunken friend. Motoki was of course nowhere in sight. "You know it sounds like you are just a tad bit jealous of you and Motoki's friend."

"Jealous nah I just see through him that's all." Said Yoshiaga "Everyone just loves him, smart yet an athlete. Also everyone feels so sorry for him, orphaned at 6 years old, oh poor him, it just makes me sick. People that perfect always have the biggest hidden flaws or deep dark secrets."

"I'm sorry but what does being orphaned have to do with having flaws or secrets?" said Makoto. "I was also orphaned at a young age does that mean I have dark secrets?"

"Nah, you're different." Replied Yoshiaga "Your only secrets and flaws are probably this flirting game you and Motoki. You two just need to get a room already."

The reality was that Makoto wasn't even listening to Yoshiaga. Though she had moved past the orphan comments she couldn't help but be reminded of someone else Motoki once knew. Someone who once protected not only her life, but also her friends lives. She knew there was no way he could be talking about him but she had to ask. "What is his name?"

"Huh?" said Yoshiaga confused. "Mo-to-ki, you need to just admit your feelings for Mo-to-ki. Also before you say anything else, yes it is that obvious."

"That's not who I am talking you drunk asshole." Said Makoto red in the face with anger. "You know what forget I ever said anything and find your own damn way home." With that she stormed off her bar stool and back over to her friends. Yoshiaga shouting something inaudible after her but she ignored him flashing her middle finger up at him.

"What's wrong Makoto?" asked Rei "You look like something is wrong."

"It's nothing." Said Makoto "Where are Usagi and Minako?"

"Dancing, seriously what is the matter Mako-chan?" asked Rei placing a reassuring hand on Makoto shoulder.

"It's nothing just Motoki completely blew me off and I had to babysit his drunk friend."

"Ah, well why don't we find Minako and Usagi and you can blow off steam by dancing." Makoto nodded and the two headed for the dance floor.

Already on the dance floor were Usagi and Minako who dancing along with the fast paced dance music. "Isn't this great!" shouted Minako. "We need to come here every weekend." Usagi nodded and continued to dance, throwing her arms over her head.

"Excuse me ladies." Said a man walking right over to Usagi. "I couldn't help noticing that long beautiful blonde hair and must come over to introduce myself. My name is Horiuchi, would you like to dance?"

"Um I don't think so." Said Usagi turning back to Minako.

"Now hold on a second." Said Minako pulling Usagi aside. "What are you doing? He is totally checking you out and a complete babe, why not just dance with him?"

"It's just, it feels wrong you know?" said Usagi "I really haven't done anything like this before."

"Well there is no time like the present to start." Said Minako.

"I don't even know who he is." said Usagi.

"So, it's just dancing. I do this all the time, you dance together and buys you a drink and you go home. It's just about being social."

Usagi had to think about it for a few moments. She had not looked any man since losing Mamoru, who was the only man she ever felt closeness to. She realized that Minako was right though, it wasn't about being close, right now was about having fun. She nodded her head and made her way back to Horiuchi. "I seem to have had a change of heart and would love it if you would dance with me."

Horiuchi smiled leading her to the middle of the floor. He immediately pulled her to him and she could the heat radiating off of his body. They both began to sway to the music as one, letting the thumping bass and swelling synths take over. They were puppets and the music was their master. "You know my name, now what's yours sweet thing." Said Horiuchi.

"Usagi" she replied feeling herself become even more enthralled in the music and atmosphere of the dance floor. She found herself getting closer to her dancing partner and turned her around so her backside was pressed against his chest. "Usagi huh" he whispered in her ear "Should I call you Usa?" Usagi responded by turning and smirking with a wink "Only if you buy me a drink first."

The two made there way to the bar. On the way Usagi waved over to her friends smiling and pointing to Horiuchi. Minako, proud and happy for her friend gave Usagi a thumbs up and a wink from across the room. "It's so good to see her having so much fun."

"I know I guess she is finally coming out of her shell." Said Rei

"She has been through so much." Said Makoto "It makes seeing her happy like that really great."

It was good for the girls to see Usagi like that, happy appearing to have the time of her live. Unfortunately its what they didn't see is what mattered the most, of course there was no way that they could. From across the room there was no way they could see Horiuchi pull a vile from his pocket, nor could they see him slip the contents into Usagi's drink. Through the crowds of people her three friends could not see what happened next. Usagi took a sip of her drink and immediately began experiencing the effects. Her mind became cloudy and her vision became blurred. "What's going on?" she asked feeling more and more light headed.

"What's wrong Usa, or should I say Usako?" asked Horiuchi standing up from his bar stole.

"Don't…call me...that" said Usagi getting weaker and weaker by the second.

"Oh right!" said Horiuchi "Only your precious Endymion calls you that, except he's dead, isn't he."

No Usagi's friends didn't notice something was wrong, not until they heard a loud bag as Usagi fell to floor unconscious and Horiuchi seem to just disappear.
