Hey guys! It's been awhile, huh? Well you can all punch me, cause I deserve it! I probably made you think I gave up, well I didn't! You see I had this chapter typed, but my ipad got jacked up and the app I type on got deleted, so this chapter got deleted, and that was awhile ago. I haven't had the inspiration lately, until now! I started watching the Walking Dead and I LOVE it! Its starting to give me ideas! So I started to write again. Im sorry for the wait. Also, my writing may suck and I feel like the characters are out of character, so please tell me how I did. Sorry for grammatical errors and for everything else! Oh by the way, it'll switch to the other characters next chapter.
Disclaimer: I don't own anything.
The school was silent, unaware of the hell taking place outside. Her footsteps were filled with an newfound urgency at seeing the gruesome deaths of her fellow peers. She had to find him, before it was too late.
She hadn't the slightest clue as to where he was, but that didn't deter her. She needed to find him and quick.
Her brother and father were so far away, he was her only friend. Her only companion. She couldn't lose him, and she'd be damned if she gave up now.
Her knuckles were white from the tight grip on her bokken, she had seen them, and they had no mercy. They were something unknown to man, a new specimen from some ungodly antidote.
People gave her odd looks as she sprinted past, clutching her bokken as if it gave her the will to move.
She had very limited time, so as students questioned her, or people mumbled freak under their breath, she paid them no heed. They'd all die soon enough anyways.
She made it to the cafeteria and she saw him. He was flirting with some ditzy freshman, someone she didn't care to know. She smiled at her luck and was about to call out his name when the intercom came on.
An emergency broadcast. Instructions on where to go and what to do. The screeching of the intercom. The principals scream. The moaning of the dead. And then silence. It had started.
The silence was deafening, not a single person moved as everyone realized something not so great was going on. It only took a small cough for the school to break into chaos.
"Christian! Christiaaannn!" She yelled desperately hoping he could hear her, but he was too deep in the sea of people.
She let out an 'oomph' as she was shoved to the ground. People stomped on her, scratched her, kicked her, and some even pulled her hair. She felt her tank top get torn in several places and the marks left on her back.
She tried getting up several times only to get knocked right back into the ground. She shut her eyes and hoped for it to end soon, and thankfully it did. Someone grabbed the strap of her white tanktop and yanked her right up, ripping the strap off in the process, and revealing her pink sports bra.
Someone took hold of her hand and drug her along as they ran away. Her right hand was occupied with her bokken, while her left had the persons hand.
They made their way through the crowd and into an empty classroom. She was thrown onto the ground as the door slammed shut.
"Oh jeez, sorry for throwing you down like that!" A girl with choppy layered lavender hair and brown eyes chirped. She stood in front of Aisha and watched her.
"Call me Misu, by the way. You're Aisha right? Why were you just laying there? I thought you were supposed to be a star athlete?" Misu asked, tilting her head slightly. Aisha only stared blankly at her.
"Are you okay?" Misu asked. Aisha finally snapped out of her daze at Misu's words.
"Sorry, I'm sorry, and thank you," Aisha thanked her graciously.
"No problem, wanna try to get out the windows?" Misu asked as she walked over and was about to open the windows until Aisha yanked her hand away. Misu glanced at Aisha, shocked by her actions. Then she started to giggle.
"Ya know you're really pretty!"
"People are dying and you're happy!? What the hell is wrong with you!?" Aisha snapped. Tears filled her eyes as she grabbed her bokken and went out the door, saying nothing else to Misu.
Screams and cries echoed through the halls, but Aisha ignored them. She walked stiffly, numbly, watching as people got bitten or eaten.
What's the point? She thought to herself.
Somewhere deep in her mind, she realized what an idiot she was being. Misu was helping her and she shoved her away. She was just strolling through the halls asking to be eaten by any one of them.
As she continued her casual walk she bumped into someone. She mumbled sorry, and walked on, only for her hair to be yanked and she was face to face with one of them.
It's skin was a sickly shade of grey, mottled flesh dangled from various spots on its body and face. It's eyes were a clouded milky white, while it's bloody teeth clacked together, eager for its next meal. It was then that the reality hit Aisha.
"Get away you bastard!" She shouted, taking her bokken and swinging at its side. It didn't even flinch.
"What the hell are you, get away!" She kept screeching and swung her bokken in front of its mouth just as it bit down. She watched as the flesh around its mouth tore away like paper, leaving dark clotted blood to run down its neck. The sound of splintering wood caused Aisha to start crying out for help.
Just as her wooden sword snapped, the things brains were splattered onto the walls. Aisha flew back with the force of the swing, the chunky fluids coating her in a nasty slime.
She laid on the ground gripping her now split bokken tightly, hoping that this was all a dream.
Misu's face appeared above her, a strained smile on her pretty face. Her brown eyes were filled with worry and her already messy hair stuck out everywhere.
"Are you alright?" She asked gently. She held out a hand that Aisha graciously took.
"I-Th-You-Save-Help..." Misu eyed her curiously.
"I...jus-you...Thanks," Aisha was flushed with embarrassment, as she couldn't quite get the words out.
"No worries, let's get somewhere now. We attracted quite the attention," Misu chuckled nervously as a crowd of them waddled toward the girls. Aisha simply nodded and started sprinting in the opposite direction.
She just couldn't believe what was happening though, she had almost died. Thank god Misu had been there.
Where did she go? He had seen a flash of silver and heard his name being called, but she was gone now. She couldn't have gone far... Christian was deep in thought as he sat in an empty classroom with the girl he had been with earlier.
She was seriously annoying the shit out of him. She kept interrupting his thoughts with not so subtle touches and little flicks of her hair. She giggled at nothing and kept making advances on him. He really just wanted her to stop, he couldn't even remember her name.
"Come on Christian! Don't you wanna have fun.." The girl tried to approach him in a sexy way, the key word being "tried". She ended up looking like a chicken on crack.
"Look...Tiffany," he said, taking a wild guess at her name. "Something really bad is happening and you don't even care?"
"My name is Claire and of course I don't care! The police will have everything under control soon, so it doesn't even matter!" She exclaimed squatting down to his level and facing him.
"Call 911 then," he said simply.
"What?" Her expression was bewildered, wondering why he would suggest such a thing.
"Call 911, if there's nothing wrong than we can do whatever, but I want proof that something seriously bad isn't happening," Christian said seriously. She was shocked that the usually laid back guy was serious for a change.
"A-alright," she replied. She took her phone out of her pocket and dialed the emergency hotline. Christian watched her reaction.
She looked terrified as she dropped her phone and fell to her knees.
"So whats up?"
"T-the line, i-it's busy," she whispered.
"See? I told ya so," he said to her.
"I've gotta go! I have to get out of here!" With that she shot up, knocking down a bunch of desks in the process, causing quite the racket.
"Wait! Shouldn't we like talk about this and stick together?" Christian asked. As annoying as she was, it was still a better idea to be with people.
She didn't answer as she was staring at the door. Christian glanced over and saw the face of one of them pressing against the small glass window. Claire screamed.
Sen felt numb. His body was covered in his classmates blood and he held a metal baseball bat loosely in his hands. He had tried so hard to stay away from them, but they came in packs and they didn't hesitate to try and kill Sen, so he had no choice. He wanted to find someone, anyone that would help him understand what was happening.
He had been eating lunch with his friends one minute, and the next there was no one in the classroom. Sen couldn't exactly process what was going on so he went to a supply closest and tried to escape the school. Currently he was on the second level, and they were still attacking the living. The number of survivors was dwindling fast though as many were in a state of shock and disbelief so they weren't really doing a lot to protect themselves.
His steps were heavy and he was almost hoping one them would notice him and end this nightmare. But Sen didn't have a death wish and he sure as hell didn't plan on getting eaten anytime soon, so he searched for someone that wasn't trying to devour him.
He hit a few more of them and quickly stepped down the stairs, hoping to get out of the school soon. A piercing feminine scream caught his attention and he jerked his attention to the source.
A few of them were standing in a bunch outside of a closed classroom door. Another guy had come around the opposite hall and they both nodded to each other in a mutual understanding. They crept upon the crowd of undead and started to bash their heads in.
"I'm Julius," the boy nodded at Sen. He was the same height as Sen and had dark brown hair and bright blue green eyes.
"Sen," he replied, hastily opening the door.
A young girl wearing too much makeup and skimpy clothes stood staring at the door in horror. Sen didn't recognize her, but he recognized Christian. They had talked a few times and were close enough to be considered friends. He quickly approached the two.
"Thanks guys," he said with a big smile and held out his hand for a fist bump from the two.
"No problem, do you have any idea about what the hell is happening?" Julius asked.
"911 is down, and people are eating each other so I have a feeling that it's something bad happening," Christian offered.
"Really 911 is down?" Sen asked, ignoring his smartass attitude.
"That's what I just said, isn't it?" Christian said. Sen rolled his eyes and glanced over to where the girl was at. Or was.
"I think you lost your girlfriend," he commented. Christian and Julius glanced at where Claire had been before.
"Awww shit!" Christian exclaimed.
"We'll help you," Julius offered.
"I never agreed to that," Sen pointed out.
"Suit yourself," Christian shrugged as the two ran out looking for Claire. Sen sighed and looked at the bigger picture, Christian may be a bit full of himself and he didn't know Julius well, but it was best to stick with people until they figured out what exactly was going on.
He sighed and chased after the two boys.
He quickly caught up to them only to see Claire getting eaten by one of them. It was very disturbing. Sen felt the anxiety come back that had disappeared as he had talked to the two boys standing in front of him.
"We've gotta get out of here," Julius told the two.
"I need to find someone first," Christian told them seriously.
"I don't think that's an option," Sen said quietly as he pulled the two into a different classroom and away from an approaching group of those things.
"You don't understand, I have to get to her!" He said desperately.
"Doesn't seem like she was to important if you were playing around with that girl from earlier," Sen retorted.
"She's one of the most important people in my life. I saw her, right before everything went to shit, she was right there, please!" Sen didn't think he'd ever seen the usually laid back, happy guy so desperate and serious.
"Alright I'm in, we have to hurry though," Sen nodded gripping his trusty bat. Julius nodded as well, giving a bright smile.
"She must mean a lot to you if you need her this bad," he added.
Relief washed across Christian's features, he wasn't going to be alone.
"She does, thank you," he strode to the door, a mischievous glint in his eyes.
"Ready to kick some zombie ass?" He got a chorus of 'hell yeah' and they were off.
Aisha really wished they wouldn't of drawn so much attention to themselves earlier. Misu and her were barely keeping up as more of them joined in the struggle to get fresh meat.
Aisha beat a few more of their heads in and turned to see Misu finishing up with hers as well. Aisha turned around only to run straight into something's chest.
It was at least a head taller than her and had a bloated belly filled to the brim with dead remains of people. Chunks of hair, blood, and other chunky things dangled out of its mouth, while it's chubby hands went out and pushed her to the ground.
She refused to scream or make any sound. This was the end and she knew it. The thing on top of her was much to strong and fat and she could barely keep it from chomping down on to her neck.
Aisha never really thought about dying until now, and she decided that she didn't want too. She thought of her dad and her brother, and how they were her life along with sports. Her late mother who gave up her life just for Aisha.
She couldn't die now. There was still so much to do.
As her arms struggled to keep this fat things weight up she let out a small whimper. A sign of submission.
She clamped her eyes shut as her arms could no longer lift the thing and finally gave out.
She waited for a bite, but received a spray of blood to the face instead. She gasped for breath as the now headless things body collapsed on top of her. It was quickly shoved off.
She looked up toward her savior. She was greeted with the sight of a blood covered man with a metal baseball bat. His eyes were dark and were glaring at her. His hair was black and spiky. He had a deep scowl on his face. Aisha just stared.
No words were spoken and he started to walk away.
"W-wait up!" Aisha struggled to get up and reach him, and he didn't even turn around. She finally add it and grabbed his arm.
He turned around giving her a sharp glare.
"What the hell do you want?" He asked swatting her arm away.
"You saved me, I mean thanks for that..." She trailed off awkwardly.
"Yeah I did, don't get used to it," he replied, Turning around to kill a few more of them that were getting a little too close for comfort.
"Aisha!" Misu strained voice caught her attention as she flipped around to see what the problem was.
Misu was struggling to keep five of them at bay with a piece of wood. Aisha rushed over and stabbed a couple in the head with her split bokken, more filled the spot where the two dropped.
"We need to go now. When I say go, we're going to drop the wood and sprint the other way, ready?" Misu struggled to get out.
"As ready as I'll ever be," Aisha mumbled.
"Go!" It seemed like everything went in slow motion, the wood dropped and they sprinted like never before. The guy from earlier had started walking away again and Aisha grabbed his hand and yanked him along, and away from the dangers behind.
He definitely didn't make it easy as he tried yanking out of her grip, only for her to barely keep her hold on him.
"Just trust me!" She screamed over the moans of the dead. He yanked his hand out of her grip, but ran alongside of her and Misu.
They ran to the nearest door and went into a dark closet full of sports equipment. It was a tight fit, but hopefully those things outside were to stupid to realize where they went.
Aisha was in the middle of the two people and was pressed up to the guys chest and Misu's back.
"Sorry guys, this was the only place that seemed somewhat safe," Misu whispered apologetically.
"No worries really, but now what do we do?" Aisha whispered back.
"How about you get the fuck away from me, so I can get out," the guy tried shoving Aisha, but barely moved her.
"How about you stop being a stupid dick and deal with the fact that I just saved your ass and you should show me some respect," Aisha retorted.
"I didn't ask for your help."
"Well you sure as hell needed it! Strolling down the hall like you own it, what the hell is wrong with you?" Aisha was beyond pissed right now. It didn't take much to get her mad, and this guy was doing a great job at aggravating her.
He didn't answer and she balled her hands into fists, ready to go on about how much of an ass he was before Misu interrupted.
"Aisha you need to calm down, and you too..." Misu trailed off not knowing his name, and he apparently didn't get the hint as he didn't respond.
"What's your name?" Misu asked gently, not wanting Aisha to get mad again.
"Alex."
"Well Alex and Aisha, please stop this fighting. We need to stick together during whatever is happening and we really need to figure out what to do, before it's too late," Misu explained. Everyone was quiet for a second.
"Do either of you have a car?" Aisha asked.
"No," Alex responded.
"I've got a motorcycle," Misu offered.
"I've got one too, but motorcycle's aren't exactly practical if this is going on in the city," Aisha said. It pained her to say this though, as she loved her baby.
"We could use a bus," Misu suggested.
"I think it's to late to go to the main office with the keys in it, to far in the school," Aisha shook her head.
"How do we even know where we are now?" Misu asked.
"Were close to the entrance, I know this closet," Aisha said.
"Well bikes it is, I guess." Through the whole exchange Alex stayed silent.
"You're coming, right?" Misu asked. He just grunted.
"I'll take that as a yes," she giggled.
"Alright, where are we headed to though?" Aisha asked. She was thinking of Christian and she just knew he was still alive. She knew they would find each other despite the odds, she just knew. So she didn't worry about finding him right now.
"Anywhere away from here," Misu responded as she grabbed a bat next to her. Aisha felt around until she gripped something that felt like a bokken or some sort of weapon.
"Ready? Go!" Misu shouted, a smirk on her face.
They had searched the whole second floor and hadn't found her, but they didn't see her reanimated corpse either. They were on the first floor right now and it was getting tough to do anything, plus night was coming fast. The sky had an orange tint to it and objects made long shadows across linoleum floors.
Christian had to think logically and knowing Aisha she had probably left the school by now. Besides, it was getting very hard to keep up with all the undead. They were some of the only living people making an appearance and attracting the attention of them.
They got a small break and Christian stopped them.
"Knowing Aisha, she probably left by now. She's a very capable girl and she probably thinks we'll find each other, because we always do. She trusts her gut and that's probably what she did, but anyways we gotta go. The school is getting out of hand and we're barely surviving. Any of you have a car?" Both Sen and Julius shook their heads.
"We'll take mine, let's go." With that, they headed towards the entrance.
