Yeah I think you're just gonna have to expect an update from me like once a year now. Anyway, enjoy :)

The bright eccentric mood that had found it's way on a gloomy Mike ended up lasting for the whole day of work, much to the amazement of everyone. Most of the green monsters co-workers had watched him instead of paying attention to their job. This was by far not a normal occurrence, but then again, Mike dancing with a Scream Can over half his size along to his own made up song was not a normal occurrence either. And if it wasn't that causing attention, then his constant whistling, random compliments and the love struck puppy expression on his face every time his mind wondered was definitely enough to get it.

Sulley wasn't hesitant, the moment that bell rang that signaled the work day was up, he grabbed the unsuspecting cyclops by the top of his head. Before even getting to ask, he had rushed them both out of the door and on their way home. Sulley was far to embarrassed to even consider staying back and talking to a few of their friends, he didn't even wait to file his paperwork, preferring it to be tomorrow's problem. All he wanted to do is get himself and his incriminating embarrassment of a friend out before anyone else had a chance to ask questions.

He had no idea at all what was going on with the little guy, not a single clue. This morning he was worried sick thinking he and Mike were in hot water and ready to boil over, only for him out of nowhere to be acting as if he had dosed up on ecstasy. Lunch break had been the worst part of the day, Sulley was just red in the face as he sat next to Mike, who was making a speech about how blessed they all were to have amazing food such as the food they had today, to Sulley it tasted of garbage, he should know, a few months ago it was him serving it. Everyone was staring at them, mostly because Mike was talking so loud and ridiculous that it just begged attention, Sulley was just doing anything to hide himself, ducking behind his hands, slumping in his chair, everything. He was nearly ready to leave the table after the seventh time of being ignored to shut up, but that would leave his friend abandoned and left to deal with humiliation himself, he promised years ago to never let that happen again.

But even Sulley had his limits, so it was decided that from that day on the two monsters would eat their lunch outside in the park, because there was no way in this world or even in the human world that Sulley was walking back into that cafeteria again. Mike had been completely oblivious to it all, from the moment he slipped into another fantasy, to the moment he snapped into reality with Sulley's blushing head gripped tightly into his arms as the small cyclops had an attempted to kiss him.

Mike had toned it down a lot after that.

"Will you calm down, it wasn't that bad" Mike groaned at the now pacing and humiliated monster. The cyclops was sat on top of an unpacked box with his arms crossed, looking like a child being scolded. Sulley did a good job at playing the disciplining father as he turned on his heels to face his roommate.

"Not that bad? Not that bad? What were you thinking? You completely embarrassed the both of us with your stupid... What the hell was wrong with you anyway?" he cried out angrily. Mike rolled his eye and huffed to himself "I was happy for once, what's the big deal? You said you wanted me to cheer up" he said in a tone that sounded rather accusing, as if the whole day was Sulley's fault.

This was just how the monster took it, "Yeah I wanted you to cheer up, not act like a nerd who had a date with the prom queen!" he snapped back. Mike remained silent, guilt flushing through his face. Those were the worst words Sulley could have used, especially as it was mostly true. Now it was just a case of being careful, so he started by clearing his throat and doing something he rarely did. "Okay... you're right, I kinda took it too far... Sorry" he mumbled lightly, not looking at his older friend.

Sulley stared at him, thoughts racing through his mind as something didn't click. Mike... not putting up a fight or attempting to argue? Something was up. Especially as the little monster didn't even tell him why he was happy in the first place.

"You're lying aren't you?" he asked bluntly. Looking up at his roommate, a sinister smile made its way to his face, "yep" he replied blankly. "I regret nothing, it was an awesome day and I had a blast."

Sulley placed a large paw over his eyes and groaned to himself at his friends new behavior. They had only known each other for two years but he know they had both changed drastically in that short time. He knew that he was loosing his jock like personality. He was concerned with working and getting ahead then going out and having fun. Mike however, when he first met his best friend he hated everything about him, a know-it-all nerd that thought he could always win and out smart the world around him. Now though, he was slowly loosing his old self to someone new, someone who would do what they want because they could, a monster who would rather have a laugh then do work, who would snap at anyone over anything for no reason simply because he didn't care. He was no longer forgiving, he was just grumpy. It was all because he no longer had a purpose, and Sulley felt that was more his fault then ever.

Ever since Sulley found him in the human world by the lake he had felt nothing but regret, taking all the weight of his friends failures onto his own shoulders, feeling responsible for it all. Because there was no way around it, he should never have let his friend believe he had won.

He never wanted to see that happen again, they haven't known each other for a life time, but already he feels as if Mike is close enough to be his younger, not so much nerdy brother. So to see him give up after everything is hard to witness, especially as Sulley has the guilt of knowing he himself still has a chance for his dream life, for Mike however there was no hope.

Things started to look up as well, only ever since they moved in together things have just been tense. Not to mention throw Celia in the mix and now it was just worse. He never said anything but he was pretty sure that Mike was jealous of this new found relationship. Whenever Sulley tried to talk about her he would leave the room, change the subject, basically anything to get her out of the topic. That wasn't becoming a problem now though because Mike was hardly talking to him at all. He couldn't understand it, Mike and Celia seemed to get on pretty well at first but then out of no where the cyclops just distance himself, even at work getting close to him was a problem, it was like working along side a stranger, so today was confusing by everyone's understanding.

Well none of that should even be a problem soon, because he couldn't see him and Celia lasting.

As a silence passed between the two, the moment was disturbed by the never ending buzz of Sulley's mobile as it rang from the table. Both monsters stared at is as it disrupted their current thoughts, Mike's once playful expression hardened into his all too familiar hidden emotions that lay within a blank canvas. His face was unreadable, yet Sulley still took as a look of jealousy and spite, even though he was far from wrong.

They both knew who it was calling them, it was the same monster that had been calling the blue monster for the past few weeks, only to be ignored.

Not now though, not today. Because Mike had been looking forward to this moment for the entire part of the day, since the morning when he last saw her, until now when he can finally call her his. But there was one thing to do first, and this was his chance to do it.

"Why do you keep ignoring her?" the cyclops asked, taking his eye from the ringing phone to his friend.

Sulley simply shrugged his shoulders, unsure on how to really answer. He knew in his mind the real reason why he wanted his relationship with Celia to end, but how to explain it was something different. He knew most of it was him, but at the same time he was unhappy with Mike's resentment of her. He didn't want a girl to come between him and his new brother.

Still expected of an answer, Sulley breathed a heavy sigh and tried to shake the situation off, "Well you know... I mean she's called me like everyday now, kinda desperate don't you think?" he laughed arrogantly, expecting the other to do the same. But instead Sulley got the reaction he had never expected and thus proved that Mike kept his promise to their former Dean to keep surprising people.

"Desperate? For what? Because she want's to know why her boyfriend doesn't want to be with her, because maybe she's worried you're still 'ill' from the other day, or maybe because she just wants to talk about what's going on or tell you she might have a new job!" Mike felt himself burst out, completely outraged by his roommates selfishness.

Sulley didn't reply, he didn't know how to. For weeks he thought this would be just what Mike wanted to hear, to try and convince him to break it off, but instead get's angry with him and defends her of all things?!

"A new job?" he settled with, knowing he'd have to speak eventually. Mike felt himself caught out for a second before he got defensive, "It could happen! You wouldn't know though would you?!"

"What is the big deal, I thought you didn't even like her" the blue monster defended in frustration, worried that all his inclinations of his friend were wrong, and to his amazement Mike actually confirmed it. "Why would I not like her, she's amazing" he slipped, only realizing to late he should have kept his mouth shut.

It took a moment to sink in, but Sulley felt as if half his brain had just cracked in two. He was so convinced Mike hated this girl... it didn't make sense. "Then why have you been acting so moody lately, you hardly talk to me and you treat Celia like dirt!" he argued. But Mike knew that it was something he couldn't explain, not yet.

"This isn't about me Sul" he quickly changed topic, "this is about you and Celia, and why you won't even talk to her. I thought you really liked her" he pressed, wanting a certain reaction from Sulley confessing he no longer had feelings for her. But now it was his turn to be surprised, "I dunno... I guess I'm... kinda scared" the big monster sighed before sitting himself down. "I think she's beautiful, but I've never really been interested in a long term relationship... but I think she is. I just don't want to get into the point where she expects me to marry her or something" he confessed, no longer burdened with the idea of Mike's disapproval.

The cyclops blinked slowly as if trying to understand what had just been said, "well... why not?" was all he could ask, earning a look of confusion from the other. "Sulley... how could you not want to get married? I mean you finally find someone you love and you spend the rest of your life with them, it's amazing. To spend every moment of your life with them, to have someone you can trust always at your side. Knowing you never loose them Sul"

Sulley had taken Mike for a lot of things over the years, a romantic was not one of them. "Yeah but it can't be that great, I mean you're stuck with that same person for your whole life" he said is if the idea was appalling. "Sul you're living with me, it's basically the same thing without the morning breath. Besides if you love someone that much, why would you want anyone else?" he answered.

Something in Sulley's mind changed in that moment... almost like a gate being opened as he allowed his friends words to sink in. He was right... there was no reason for him not to give it a chance, nothing would happen soon anyway, so why not see where it goes?

"I'm gonna do it!" the monster shouted as he stood up with a burst of energy. At first Mike beamed with support until confusion sank it, "Yeah!... Wait what?"

Sulley seemed to excited to hear though as he grabbed his phone and smiled wildly, "I'm not gonna give up on Celia anymore. You're right Mikey, if I end up falling in love with her then there's no reason for us not to be together!"

"You what?!" the green monster exclaimed angrily with a near burning rage at his friends new idea. Before he could protest Sulley had made it to the door, ready to take off. "I'll be back later, I'm gonna tell Celia the good news!" he yelled before rushing down the hallway on his way out the building.

"Wait! Don't fall in love with Celia! She's too desperate remember! SULLEY!"

The blue monster was no longer in his sight or in hearing range, so Mike closed the door to their apartment and slid down the side of it's frame. His hands palled at the rim of his brow before his banged the back of his head against the soled wood angrily. He was never one for admitting his mistakes, or even confessing that he's been stupid... But even he knew... that was pretty damn stupid.
