Catch me if you can

His hand trembled as he filled out the paperwork. After seeing the article, his mind was set. No matter what, he had to find him, and learn what happened to the friend he used to know.

Miles Edgeworth, Demon Prosecutor, he thought. What on earth happened to him?

He knew that taking law would be very different from his performing arts classes, but it didn't matter. Now that his childhood friend was a ferocious lawyer, Phoenix knew that if he wanted to see him again, the best way to do it was to face him in court.

Phoenix imagined several possibilities of what would happen when they finally met again, but the most likely scenario in his mind was that he would be cold and uninterested, so completely different from what he had been back in the fourth grade. Memories soon began to flood his mind, one standing out in particular.

It was a cold, breezy day, not long after the three boys were united by the class trial. They all decided to meet, and Miles's house was selected as their hangout place for the day. Phoenix, as he was usually close to being on time, arrived first. Miles let him in, and showed him to his room. After a few minutes, Mr. Edgeworth came in and introduced himself. When Phoenix asked him what he did for a living, he responded that he was a defense attorney. Noting that not only were Mr. Edgeworth's eyes shining, Phoenix asked his new friend what he wanted to do when he was older. This brought on a massive speech, about how he wanted to defend those who couldn't defend themselves, and be just like his Father. He seemed so inspired, so determined.

And now he turned out as the complete opposite, Phoenix thought.

Suddenly, some of his theater studies began to drift through his mind, with one play sticking out in his mind. They had performed it a few months ago, and while none of the actual play was remembered, the title stuck out in his mind. Catch me if you can.

Filling out the paperwork with a new-found motivation, Phoenix though to himself, I'm going to find you Miles. Even if you think I can't.

The End

Ok, please forgive me if this stunk... I'm completely new to this and to writing in general. But comments, reviews, and criticism would be greatly appreciated!:) Thanks for reading, more to come!
