"Spare her."

Voldemort looked up to see the blonde man before him and it drew a flashback from a long time ago. The same scenario but with a different man.

"Spare her. Please my Dark Lord."

"She's a mudblood Draco. Why ever should I?"

"I beg you my Lord." Voldemort was about to retort but paused for some reason. He didn't know why but for some reason, some sort of pity and compassion formed in him. It reminded him of a time where he got what he wanted and was one of the most powerful dark wizards at the time. The downfall of him was a little boy. Those days were over though, he was about to regain his control and about to be the most powerful wizard of all time.

"In other circumstances, I would have denied you Draco. However you have never asked me of anything. I will consider it. You're dismissed."

"Thank you... thank you my lord." He bowed and left the room.

Draco Malfoy never asked for anything in all his years of being his loyal servant. So why now? Especially for some mudblood?

oOo

Draco walked swiftly into the dark lit room. His face showed no emotion or expression, however inside he was seething. Malfoys don't ask for much, not even from the Dark Lord himself. However when he asks something, he would like it to be granted.

"You hurt her." He accused. Voldemort was getting his face cleaned up from his nasty aunt Bellatrix who gaped at him. Voldemort's face was cut up from shards of glass.

"Don't you dare to speak to him in that tone!" She hissed at him, raising her wand. Voldemort silenced her with his hand.

"Leave us Bella." She gave an incredulous look at the Dark Lord. "Now." He commanded and she went shuffling out the door. Draco stayed silent, wanting an explanation.

"She didn't move."

"You said you would spare her!"

"And I did Draco." Voldemort said. "She wouldn't move and I had to blast her away. Fool of a witch... wouldn't get out of his way." Draco's face went even whiter but thank Merlin he didn't notice.

"Who.. who's face?" He asked.

"Potter's!" Voldemort spat and Draco sighed.

"And the boy?" Draco asked next. He was trying his hardest to keep his expression neutral, wanting more information.

"Not there... not fucking there!" With this news, Voldemort began attacking the items around in the room. Blowing them into bits of nothing. Furious and evil, Draco bowed out.

"Should I ask about Potter?" At this Voldemort cackled and Draco heard the shrill voice of his cackle all the way down the corridor."

oOo

"Granger! Granger!" He screamed, the second he apparated into the apartment. Seconds later, a body flung onto him and he clutched it tightly. "I thought I lost you." Draco whispered to her. Hermione's hug was suffocating but just what he needed. He thought she was gone... and if she ever was, a piece of him would die forever.

"Almost." She cried softly. "I wouldn't move and for some reason he kept telling me too!"

"Foolish girl." Draco said.

"He sacrificed himself... for us." She said in a quiet voice. At this, Draco's heart clenched. Potter did something that Draco would never have been able to do. He gave up himself in order to protect the person they loved most. Hermione. He gave Voldemort that power knowing his best friends and godson would survive.

"I'll avenge him. I promise you Granger, I will." She nodded, still holding him. He was about to speak next when a little boy's voice started shouting.

"Daddy! Daddy!" Draco's face broke out into a smile when he saw a little boy running towards him. Finally letting go of Hermione, he caught the boy as he ran to him.

"Hi Scorpius." Draco said, squeezing him even harder as he pulled Hermione back to him. With platinum blonde hair and the gray eyes, there was no mistaking that this was Draco Malfoy's son. Hermione pulled on one of his hair ringlets and Scorpius giggled.

Except for straight sleek blonde hair, he got his mother's untamable curly hair. Their child was beautiful. If there was anything he be proud of, it was that their was perfect and safe in this world. Thanks Potter, he thought silently, as he clutched his small family together. Vowing to always protect them, even if it costs him his own life.
