Don't forget to leave me a review on your way out!
Rose had worked out it had been two hours since the Doctor had fell unconscious. She had instantly began to panic but realised that it was most likely not going to benefit neither her or the injured Time Lord. She had managed to calm herself down and help the Doctor as much as she could.
She had decided against trying to drag him anywhere and instead decided it would be best to let him rest where he was, so she had ran to her room, grabbing both of her light pink pillows and a spare dark purple blanket in order to make him more comfortable lying on the grated floor. She had carefully removed his shirt and tie so his chest was less constricted and was actually surprised to see that the bruising around his stomach looked less aggravated than it had. And then it had become a simple waiting game.
Rose looked at his still form underneath the blanket, his shallow breathing making his chest rise and fall slowly. He looked peaceful, his features frozen within his unconscious state. She gave a slight sigh from her position on the jump seat as she observed him which then turned into a long yawn, having not realising how tired she really was. She hadn't really thought about how much she had physically done in the past few hours. Her muscles ached and her neck was painfully stiff and Rose knew it was from practically carrying the Doctor from the cave to the TARDIS. But she didn't want to complain. He had saved her life.
"Urghmfff..."
Rose was knocked out of her trance when she suddenly heard a muffled grunt emit from the floor and she quickly glanced down to where the Doctor was lying to see that he was slowly moving around from underneath the purple blanket. Instantly she was on her knees beside him.
"Doctor?" She murmured to him as she placed one of her hands on his thick brown hair, stroking it out of concern but also relief. He gave another small grunt and then let out a pained groan.
"R-Rose?" He muffled as he cautiously opened his eyes, eventually casting his gaze towards his companion.
"Yeah, it's me Doctor, I'm here." She comforted him whilst she continued to stroke his hair. "Don't worry, I haven't moved you, I didn't really want to."
The Doctor brought out his hands from under the blanket and attempted to sit up but only earned himself another groan of pain. When Rose looked to his stomach, expecting to see the bruise that had still been there a few hours ago, she was surprised to see that it had nearly all cleared. All that remained was a slightly purple patch and a small red dot where she had inserted the needle.
"Here, come on, I'll help you sit up." Rose told him, as she placed her arm around his back and lifted him into a sitting position, Thankfully, he didn't seem to protest all that much.
"Oh my head," The Doctor moaned. "I feel like i've just drank twenty Irishmen under the table." He joked, showing signs of his regaining spirit. Rose couldn't help but smile.
"What the hell was wrong with you?" She asked him, reaching over to a glass of water that she had gotten earlier so that he could take a drink. The Doctor took it from her and slowly had a few sips before answering.
"When the rocks fell on top of me, back in the cave, I felt one hit me square in my stomach as I was falling and when I landed, I must have torn the lining of the organ. " He explained to her, feeling slightly queasy from talking a little too quickly. "If it wasn't for you I probably would have ended up...well, on the verge of regeneration."
"What was that stuff I injected you with?"
"It's a special healing substance which can repair damage to the body, which in this case was my twisted stomach. Got it from the planet Trek-Ina from an old friend of mine." He replied, looking back up to face Rose. "I've had it in that box for, oh, around four hundred and thirty years."
Rose couldn't help but smile once again, her tounge sticking out timidly between her teeth. She suddenly felt the Doctors hand connect with hers and he gripped it tightly.
"Thank you, Rose. You're an absolute star." He praised her, his old and tired eyes glaring into her young but also tired ones and she squeezed his hand in response.
"It was nothing," She replied. "As long as you're safe, that's all that matters. And next time we're about to get crushed by a pile of falling rocks, don't push me out the way, yeah?"
The Doctor chuckled. "That's a promise I don't think I'll be able to keep." The Time Lord suddenly grunted as a wave of pain from his body reminded him that he was still not completely healed. Despite the pain, he managed to look down towards his bare chest and spread a frown over his face when he realised his upper body was completely exposed. "Where's my jacket and shirt?"
"Don't panic, they're just there." Rose told him, pointing to the neatly folded up pile of clothes near one of the TARDIS columns.
"Ah that's good, Charlie Chaplin gave me that shirt, wouldn't want to lose it." The Doctor commented.
"It's scratched and matted anyway, and there's dust all over it. So I think you'll probably be needing a new one." Rose told him, looking a little guilty.
"Charlie's going to kill me." The Time Lord sighed in response, giving his first bright smile since he had woken up. He noticed Rose wince slightly as she moved her legs around to change her knelling position. "Are you alright?"
"I'm just a bit stiff, that's all." She responded. "I practically dragged you all the way here, you're not as light as you would think."
"I'm sorry, Rose," He said, slightly unexpectedly to her. "I didn't mean for you to have to do that."
She chuckled lightly."You're so stupid, sometimes...I didn't mind, Doctor. It's what I signed up for."
"You didn't sign up to drag my backside for miles."
"Looks like it's part of the contract now." Rose joked to him. When the Doctor groaned slightly again, Rose placed a hand onto his back and rubbed it gently. "I think you need a bit more rest, I'll help you to you're room."
"You're resting with me, you need it too." The Doctor said almost instantly after she had finished her sentence, glaring at her as if it was a strict order. "No excuses."
"Okay Doctor, no excuses."
After Rose helped the Doctor slowly get to his feet, they both began to make there way to the Doctor's bedroom, Rose's arm wrapped around the Doctor's torso for the millionth time that day. But this time he didn't need her support as much, plus he was trying to avoid leaning on her since he knew her body wasn't in tip top form either.
"Thank you again, Rose." The Doctor stated again to his companion as they continued walking. "You definitely deserve a trip to the Dessert Spa in the GurtrudeAF Galaxy after this is over."
"As long as there's no tunnels or caves involved, then count me in."
The Time Lord simply couldn't hold back the laugh that escaped his mouth.
