ANOTHER CHAPTER IN THE SAME MONTH?! WHO IS THIS?! DID SOMEONE HACK THIS ACCOUNT?! WHY IS EVERYTHING IN CAPS?

Jokes aside, had a week off so thought I should write another chapter before college starts again.

After the court case was settled, Commander Erwin made the decision to move our headquarters to a former base, which was a renovated castle.

"This is what you get for yapping away on horseback." Petra said as she handed Aurou a handkerchief.

"First impressions are important." He said. "Bet I scared the shit out of the brat."

"You definitely left him an unforgettable one." Alice replied.

"He was probably surprised by how stupid you are." Petra shook her head.

"At any rate, everything has gone according to plan."

"Say, you didn't use to talk like this. If that's your idea of imitating the corporal, seriously just stop. To begin with, you two are nothing alike."

"Don't try to tie me down, Petra. Are you trying to act as my wife or something?"

"If only you had bit your tongue off and died. You also brag about your kill counts."

"Don't worry. I brag about you guys as well."

"Don't go doing unnecessary things!" Alive shouted.

Eren's POV

These guys are all elite beyond doubt. They're all hand-picked by Corporal Levi, and they'll be the ones to kill me if I go out of control.

A sudden pat on the shoulder made me jump.

"Did I scare you?" Alice smiled. "What's wrong? You look a little stressed out."

"It's nothing."

"Good, because it's about to begin."

"What's is?"

She looked at the castle and shook her head.

"Levi's not going to let this go."

"Eren, finish up this room. I'm going to checking upstairs." Levi said as he left the room.

"I see you're disappointed. Turns out humanity's strongest isn't what he was cut out to be." Petra said.

"No, I was more surprised by how obedient he is to the higher up's order."

"There are rumors saying that he was an infamous rogue from the underground."

"Then what made him change?"

"Who knows? But he was brought in by Commander Erwin." Petra said. "But if you're curious, Alice might know, since she's known him the longest amongst all of us."

"Alice?"

"Oi, Eren." Levi said as he popped into the room.

"Yes?!"

"It's far from clean. Do everything from scratch." Levi gave him death stares.

"We will be leaving for an expedition in a few weeks. This time the new recruits will be joining us." Gin reported.

"Is that true?" Petra asked.

"This IS Erwin we're talking about. He is looking further into the future than we are. He's probably planning on relying on Eren's power." Levi answered.

Everyone shifted their attention towards him.

"How do you change into a titan again?" Gunter asked.

"Everything that we know so far is written in your reports." Levi said as he took a sip of his coffee. "But knowing her, she's going to go all out. Eren, she might end up killing you."

"Who is she?"

There was a sudden bang on the door. That startled everyone except Levi (of course).

Petra got up to open the door.

"Good evening, members of the Levi Squad." Hanji said.

"You're early." Levi replied.

"How could I possibly stay put?"

"Squad Leader Hanji?" Eren asked puzzled.

"I'm in charge of conducting research on the two titans we caught and I'd like your cooperation for tomorrow's experiment. I came here to get permission for it."

"What sort of experiment?"

"Well, it's the most exciting thing ever!" Hanji pulled an excited expression.

"Um.. I don't have the authority to make the decision."

"Levi, what are Eren's plans tomorrow?"

There was a short pause.

"Cleaning the garden." Levi replied.

"Then that shouldn't be a problem! It's decided!" Hanji grabbed Eren's arm. "I can't wait for tomorrow, Eren."

"S-sure but… What exactly are we doing tomorrow?"
"What?" Hanji replied quickly.

Everyone in the room began glaring at Eren.

"What do you mean by experiment-"

"Hey, stop it. Don't ask." Aurou whispered.

He felt a light kick on his leg. He turned to Alice who was sitting next to him.

"Shh!" She hushed him as she shook her head.

"Ah, I knew that you'd be interested." Hanji smiled in a creepy way.

Levi got off his chair and everyone followed suit. Alice gave a sympathetic glance before she walked out, leaving a confused Eren alone with the barely sane Hanji.

Little did he know the hell he had to endure for the next 10 hours.

Alice's POV

"Should we have left him back there?" Petra asked.

"We tried to warn him, but it was too late. There's nothing we can do once Hanji starts talking." Alice replied. "Besides, all of us had to learn it the hard way. I think it's only fitting that he does too."

Just thinking back on how she had to listen to Hanji's lectures for hours made her shudder.

"Don't remind me." Petra shook her head. "Anyway, it's been awhile since we had such a large room to ourselves."

"Yup, no more bunk beds! It's nice having a room with just the two of us."

"We should go to bed soon. Tomorrow's going to be another hard day of cleaning." Petra said as she blew out the candles.

The room shone with a silver lighting from the blue light of the moon. A simple room with a desk, drawers, closet and 2 single beds. It wasn't fancy, but a definite one up from their previous dorm.

"Don't you find Aurou annoying? The way he's constantly trying to imitate Corporal Levi." Petra asked.

"I don't know, I think it's funny that he tries so hard." Alice giggled. "He even started wearing a cravat."

"Well I don't," Petra sighed.

For a while now, Aurou has been mimicking Levi (and failing at it). From what I can tell, he's mainly doing it because he has always admired and respected him but another being…

I looked over to the ginger haired girl who was fast asleep and giggled to myself.

Now that I think about it, Levi's pretty amazing, there are a lot of people who admire him and he has set a standard for all soldiers. He's completely different from the person I knew. He's colder now, and there's a distance between us that wasn't there before. Somehow that made me a little sad. I know things can't return back to how it was but to me he's still an important person.

I wonder what I am to him?

Levi and the others left early in the morning, as someone had killed the 2 titans Hanji had been experimenting on. Petra and I stayed back to handle everything, which were mostly chores.

Petra took it upon herself to weed the back garden while I was left with sweeping the courtyard.

I sighed as I leaned against the broom.

"It's such a lovely day and I'm stuck here, sweeping this never ending pile of dried leaves! All because of that stupid clean freak!"

I said and threw the broom on the ground to vent out my frustration.

"Oi, stop whining and actually do some work." A familiar voice spoke.

I jumped, bumping into Levi who was standing behind me.

"Levi! You're back." I laughed nervously.

Shit.

I quickly picked up the broom and began vigorously sweeping the ground.

"I leave for a few hours and I come back to see you slacking off."

"I haven't been slacking off, I swear!"

He glared at me, not convinced.

"So how did it go?" I said as an attempt to change the subject.

"Apparently, witness said that he saw the culprit but they got away."

"They couldn't catch him?"

"He used the 3DMG to climb the walls."

"That means…but why would they?"

"Who knows? The military is looking into it, but in the meantime." He scowled at me again. "Make sure this courtyard is spotless."

"Y-yes." I frantically started sweeping.

Suddenly, he took a step closer to me.

"W-what is it?" I asked.

He remained silent and just stared at me. I blushed and averted my eyes. I felt his warm hands brush through my hair.

"There's a leaf in your hair." Levi said, holding up a small leaf.

"Oh… thanks."

I quickly brushed out my hair.

I noticed Levi picking up a spare broom.

"What are you doing?" I asked.

"What does it look like I'm doing? If I leave it up to you, nothing will get done."

He started diligently sweeping the leaves into a neat pile. A smile formed on my face.

Is it alright for me to think that he treats me a little differently?
