Chapter 48

Epilogue

5 years later

I'm standing back stage watching my husband do a run through for his performance this evening. This will be a very special performance that I am looking forward too. But unfortunately, I can't finish watching his rehearsal my twins are calling for me. I need to feed them, so I head outside. Our tour bus is parked on the back lot of CBS television city. I am attacked by my 5 year old Emma, my 3 year old Anna and the screaming of my twins Kristin and Justin. I snuggle my little girls and then ask, "Do you think I should feed the twins so that they quit being cranky?"

"Yes please momma or else I'll need my ear plugs again."

"Okay, why don't we put on Frozen while I feed them?

"Yippee, Grandma, give Mommy Kristin and put on the movie please?"

I easily settled down and started feeding Kristin and Justin at the same time. It was a little difficult in the beginning to feed them simultaneously, but now I was a pro. As "Do you want to build a snowman started playing?" I drifted through the last five years and how we got here.

After I had recovered from my concussion, I finished getting my iron levels back up, and I quick throwing up every morning, Emmett agreed we could move up to Alaska for our pregnancy. All of our family and friends again come up to visit us like they did with Emma. We stayed until December 23rd when we came back to LA for the holidays and to be in LA for the birth of our second daughter, Anna.

Over Christmas, we found out that Alice was actually pregnant with twins. When I called her up after I knew Emmett and I had agreed to take some time off except for a music program once a month, she and Jasper decided not to wait the five years and started trying to get pregnant and it didn't take long. But with her little size and carrying twins, she was put on bedrest after the first of the year. This drove her crazy; however, cell phone and laptop in hand, she still managed to keep my music program running.

With a charter jet and a doctor I board, Emmett and I were still at his New Year's Eve Rocking performance. While eight months pregnant, I attended the Grammy's with Emmett and watched him when several. But I think the one he was the most proud of was the one he did not receive on camera and that was for the children's lullabies.

Anna came around in March like a little breeze; nothing as exciting as Emma's arrival. We were a very busy household now; Emmett with the thought of leaving his girls behind to do his summer tour couldn't handle that. I had seen him struggling with it and I really wasn't sure why and then shortly before Valentine's Day I figured it out. I remedied the problem with Esme and Rose's help. So after we had a babysitter for Emma, I took Emmett to dinner at an RV Store where we ordered a new custom bus to fit our growing family. We also decided to tour fewer cities so that we could have time as a family and not just on the tour bus. Emma needed room to run around and so that is what we did. I was thanked properly once we got back home that night.

Alice's twins came into the world at 30 weeks and at a price. She would no longer be able to have other kids; however Michael and Sarah were perfect. They needed a little bit of time in the NICU; but after that they were raring to go and gaining weight. They were home after only four weeks.

Our summer tour was amazing and after a quiet anniversary celebration for us in Paris we continued our one month European tour with only five concert cities. We had everyone with us on that trip. Edward and Rose and family, Alice and Jasper and family, Jake and Leah and family, I still don't know how we convinced them to come but they did, Esme and Carlisle and Emmett and I's parents and my brother. It was an incredible month.

It turns out Rose got pregnant with Peter on that trip. It didn't matter; she was so happy as a mom and together we dealt with the paparazzi and protecting our kids at the same time. Everyone was starting to take notice both famous and regular folks alike. We could actually take our kids to the doctors and not have any problems. Sure people still took pictures, but they stayed 200 feet away and did not print stories about health scares or why the children were crying when they left the doctors after getting shots.

While we were touring the following summer, Jasper brought an offer to Emmett of doing a show on Broadway from September through the beginning of the New Year. We discussed it and decided to do it. So after our summer concert tour, the McCarty's invaded NYC. With Alice, Jasper, Edward, Rose and Emmett's help, we took the music program over New York City, the suburbs and parts of New Jersey. They loved it and the press that we got there in New York just added more funding for us thanks to other musicians contributing. In October of that year, I had just gotten over a cold thanks to Anna; but I was feeling a little queasy. On Monday after a quiet weekend at home for us, Emmett dragged me to the doctor. I was told what I thought; I was pregnant and I was quite delighted with Emmett's response this time. He picked me up and spun me around the room so many times that my stomach was not nearly as happy and I threw up on him. He forgave me; we got cleaned up thanks to some doctor scrubs and headed home.

I went in the next month for a check-up; the doctor drew some blood for a quick check she wanted to look into and then I sat and waited. When she wanted to perform an ultrasound, she had to calm me down first and told me her suspicions. Then we ran the ultrasound, and I took home a picture of two peanuts to show Emmett. I left two cupcakes in the kitchen for Emmett after his show.

He pulled me into his arms when he came to bed and said, "Thanks for the two cupcakes after tonight's show, but you normally only leave me one. So what's up?"

"You need to start storing up your energy because you are going to need it." I rolled over and turned on the light and handed him the ultrasound picture.

Emmett studied it and then quietly crazy dancing all around the room. He came back to bed and pulled me into his arms and said, "We made twins."

"Yes, we did and I hope you get one boy in here because we are done after this."

"I love you, Angel. If I don't, I'll understand and be happy with my family of princesses to spoil." Emmet kissed me and we made love slow and gently for the next hour.

After our extended stay in New York, we returned to LA for the remainder of my pregnancy. I have never been so thankful that Emmett already had such a large house because we all would still fit there once the twins came.

We hadn't told our family yet about the twins we were just enjoying it for the two of us. On January 5th that year, we had a late Christmas celebration in LA since the grandparents felt cheated since we were in New York. We gave all of them double the gift certificates or double the clothes. It had been a lot of fun putting all these packages together. Everyone looked so confused and then Emmett gave me one more present. It was a birthstone ring and I ohhed and ahhed over it even though I knew he had already done it. Emily saw it first and she screamed, "You two are carting twins and that is why we got two of everything. Bella has two birthstone holders for April when she is due."

I was then buried alive but everyone, I started to groan at all the pressure. Emmett went cave man and got everyone off of me. He made sure that I was okay.

While I was pregnant with the twins, I convinced my husband to release my two exclusive songs on his newest album. He really didn't want to but he had struggled filling up the album with songs so that is when I made my suggestion to add my songs to the album. I have to admit when I drove around the city or I was at home and they came on the radio all I could do was stop and smile while thinking about that fateful day. So again in February that year, I attended the Grammy's even larger since I was carrying the twins. I watched my husband play my song with Ashley playing accompaniment with him. Carlisle and Esme had to do some heavy negotiations for him to play the show because of how many seats we would need. It worked out and Ashley looked amazing up there. Leah and I sat there beaming staring at two of the most important people we knew on that stage. Emmett won a Grammy that night; but there were no after parties for us yet again. All we did was go home to bed.

Our twins thought about coming into the world on March 31st , but they decided to give their momma a long labor so that we wouldn't have to redo my ring. I delivered them via c-section around 10am when they went into fetal distress.

We still went to Alaska for at least one month a year. We had to add a guest cabin to our property because with all the kids we had no more room for guests. We headed out on summer tour again with our new tour bus because we all couldn't fit in the old buses anymore. Emmett had to agree that sex would be limited with so many of us on the bus. He agreed because he would rather have us with him than not. Again on this tour, Emmett had Alice build extra days off in so that we could spend nights in hotels so that we could have private time as couples while the kids slept. It worked out well for Alice and Jasper as well.

I was getting ready to watch my husband play at the finale of DWTS and Rose was dancing to his song though she no longer was on the show as a pro dancer. Once or twice during the season she would still come back and dance. The song was going to be one of our two love songs. I still can't believe all that happened to us; but this song pulled us back together though when he showed up I was ready to shove him out a window. I'm glad I hit play that day because now my life couldn't be more complete. I wrapped my arms around Emmett while he waited at the side curtain waiting to be announced and I simply said, "I love you and thanks for never giving up on me. Go sing me my song."

He turned giving me his amazing dimple smile, mouthed I Love you, took his microphone and started singing as he went out on stage.
