Chapter 18

Not too long after they entered the vortex the kids arrived right back where they started and due to the inexact nature of wormholes they were placed their around the time they left, so luckily nobody noticed that they were missing. Now back in their world, the kids made a pact to keep what happened to them to themselves before buying the magic mirror that had given them so much trouble in the first place.

It only took them a little while before they finally got back home with the mirror and once they covered it up with a blanket, they all got their adopted mother into the living room where it was set and then pulled the blanket off once she entered the room.

"Happy Birthday, Mom!" The kids all said at once, happily.

"Oh, thank you kids! I know this must have taken you all a lot of work to get but I am so very grateful to you all." Mrs. Dabney said.

"It was our pleasure, Mom." Mary smiled, which mad her smile as well.

"Totally." Paco smirked.

"So… how did you afford it?" Mrs. Dabney asked. "And how'd you know I needed a new mirror?"

"It was merely a simple matter of combining all the money we have earned over the week." Edwin explained, simply.

"Plus… it just spoke to us in a way." Mary shrugged with a knowing grin.

"Yeah, that's one way of putting it…" Felix said, smirking. Their mother looked at them confused but shrugged it off.

"Well I'm happy you got it and I'm glad to see all six of you getting along better than ever now." Mrs. Dabney expressed.

"Thanks! We love you mommy!" Darla smiled as she hugged her mother, along with everybody else. Mrs. Dabney smiled and hugged them all back.

"Oh… I love you kids too," she smiled. "Now what do you say we have some cake now?"

"Yeah!" The kids all cheered.

"Hey, mind if I wash my hands first." Tommy asked.

"Go right ahead, sweetie." Mrs. Dabney nodded. "And be sure to get under your nails, you've probably been mucking about in the dirt all day."

"Yes ma'am!" Toby nodded, smiling as he began to make his way to the bathroom. Felix noticed a thoughtful look on Tommy's face and began to follow him.

Meanwhile, inside the bathroom, Tommy was staring at the mirror, still with a thoughtful look on his face, so much so that he was almost oblivious to everything around him until someone finally spoke up.

"Uh… Tommy?"

Tommy gasped and turned to see that it was just his adopted older brother, Felix.

"Oh… hey Felix." Tommy said, as his adopted brother approached him and noticed his sad face.

"Crazy day, huh?" Felix remarked.

"The craziest." Tommy agreed. "We met a bunch of talking and colorful pony girls…"

"And nearly destroyed their world in the process…" Felix added.

"Oh yeah…" Tommy nodded. "On the plus side, we got to ride in a train."

"We crashed it." Felix pointed out, deadpan.

"Right…" Tommy remembered. "Still it was fun."

"Yeah, it was…" Felix agreed. "I wonder how they're doing right now?"

"Probably helping all those ponies, they're nice like that." Tommy said.

"Think that's the last we'll ever see of them?" Felix wondered.

Tommy looked to the side and noticed the mirror shimmering a bit and a smile appeared on his face. "I'm sure we'll meet again."

Felix smiled also. "Yeah… same."

The two continued to gaze at the special mirror portal that brought them all to Equestria and watched at it continued to shimmer and shine, indicating there was still a bit of magic inside it.

Elsewhere, back in Equestria all the damage the negative energy caused by the children's presence had been completely erased. Everypony's homes were back where they belonged, the cities and towns were no longer in ruins and even the train the kids 'crashed' was continuing to move down the long tracks.

In the town of Ponyville, which had also been restored to its pride and glory, the heroes of the town; Twilight, Applejack, Rarity, Fluttershy, Pinkie and Rainbow were all trotting through town whilst the sun shined beautifully over their heads and the townspeople got back to their everyday lives with big smiles on their faces.

"Wow, I can't believe everything went back to normal so fast! Isn't life wonderful?" Twilight marveled.

"It sure is!" Applejack agreed. "And despite all the chaotic stuff it brought, this experience allowed us to make a bunch of few and rather strange friends."

Rainbow flew closer to them. "Yeah, those kids were alright," she admitted. "Slightly annoying… but still alright."

"I liked them! They were funny!" Pinkie smiled.

"And kind." Fluttershy added, sweetly.

"And also very generous." Rarity said. "Not mention very fashionably forward."

"Yeah, they were a good bunch of kids, too bad we had to say good bye though…" Applejack said, sadly.

"Don't worry, I'm sure we'll meet again someday." Twilight stated.

"What makes you think that, Twi?" The farm pony asked, curiously.

"I don't know…" Twilight Sparkle smiled as she looked at a glimmering, mirror like reflection in the lake nearby. "It's just a… feeling."

The girls all smiled as a brilliant rainbow appeared over their newly restored home while the sun shined brightly overhead. Yes sir, it was a beautiful day, their world was back to normal and the future was looking brighter than ever. But will the human world and Equestria ever interact again? Only time will tell.
