It was a very lovely evening and Wolf Link was sitting at the lake with his master after a long day of hard work. Rusl's horse, Epona, was tied up nearby. Rusl was telling Link about the way twilight feels to most people. It seemed to be such a sad time of day. Everyone seemed to want the sun to never set. Link listened intently as he could understand what the humans say, however, he was unable to communicate with them.

Rusl got up and told Wolf Link to follow, so that is what Link did. On their way out they locked the gate while leading Epona with them, of course. After they arrived back at the village, Rusl gathered with his family and let Link scamper on back to wherever he came from.

Wolf Link arrived back at his den to sleep for the night. As he did so, some night birds were singing their songs into the darkness.

The next day, Wolf Link woke up and exited the den, ready to help heard the goats. He headed over to the small goat ranch to help right away as this was his usual job here in Ordon Village. He was known as the only wolf to heard goats rather than eat them, which is only one of the many things that made him so special.

"Hey,Wolf Link! I see you are ready to heard goats! These little fellas won't listen to me, but I bet they'll listen to you!" the owner of the goats, who's name is Fado, said.

Wolf Link barked in response and got ready to heard some goats. There were ten goats out that day, so it wasn't too hard. Wolf Link chased the goats around the perimeter and they all ran. Most of them went into the barn, but one of the goats stayed behind.

Wolf Link ran up to it and it said, "Get lost freak!"

Wolf Link was offended by that, but he still tried to scare it into the barn. Finally, after a lot of arguing, the goat finally got into the barn. In the argument, Link got bruised up pretty badly by the goat head butting him.

"Wow, that was hard!" Wolf Link barked, shaking a few pebbles from his aching paw pads.

"All finished?" Fado asked.

Wolf Link nodded and walked over to him.

"So, I just heard that you will be delivering a gift to the royal family soon," Fado said, trying to start a conversation with Wolf Link.

Wolf Link sat down next to Fado, staring up at him with his brilliant blue eyes.

"It will be a long trip and I just wanted to wish you luck," Fado said, rubbing Wolf Link's head.

"I'll be fine, don't worry about me!" Wolf Link barked, "I've handled much worse back when..."

Fado stood up and said, "Well, Wolf Link... I saw how that goat treated you. I just wanted to say, I'm sorry. You seemed to handle it well, though,"

"Yeah!" Wolf Link barked, "I think I thought that goat who's the real boss around here!"

"Please take a break tomorrow; I want you to do a good job on your trip," Fado said.

"What about your goats?" Wolf Link barked, although technically only animals could understand him.

"And don't worry about me; I should be fine," Fado said as if answering Wolf Link.

Wolf Link licked the guy and returned home by jumping over the fence.

"What a sweet dog he is..." Fado commented.

The next day, Wolf Link crawled out of his den and stretched. He had slept in a bit, but was awoken by the village kids arguing about how to obtain a sling shot and why one would be cool to own. He sat down and tilted his head in confusion.

The kids passed on by and he headed to the village, even though he didn't need to herd the goats that day. He wandered over to a garden patch and ate one of the pumpkins, which, for some unknown reason, had a Rupee in it.

"Oh boy! What do I do with this?!" he barked excitedly, "Perhaps... Perhaps Colin will want it for that sling shot they were talking about..."

Wolf Link dug a hole to hide the Rupee while he went searching for more so that nobody would steal it from him. He ran through the grass, broke more pumpkins apart, and even pushed stones over in search of more Rupees which he returned one by one to his Rupee hole.

After awhile, he actually managed to gather enough to purchase that sling shot, however, there was still one problem... How would he carry them all to Colin? One by one like before?

After a bit of thinking, he then went off to find something to carry Rupees in and found some vines and an abandoned wallet. He tied the wallet around himself with the vines and then proceeded to load it with the Rupees he had gathered.

"COLIN! COLIN!" Wolf Link barked as he searched for his favorite child.

Colin was with the other kids, or, rather, standing a little ways off. Wolf Link walked up and held the wallet out to Colin.

"Huh? What do you have there?" Colin asked, crouching to get a better look.

"For you! I heard you wanted to buy something!" Wolf Link barked.

Colin took the wallet and counted the contents.

"Whoa! This is enough to buy that sling shot! How did you know?!" Colin asked.

"I overheard you talking about it in front of my den, so I made myself useful," Wolf Link barked.

"I'm gonna go over there right now!" Colin cried out.

He turned and ran, accidentally spraying Wolf Link in the face with dirt. Colin ran right into the shop run by Sera, Beth's mother. Only moments later, though, Colin returned without the sling shot and a frown on his face.

"What happened?" Wolf Link barked.

Colin didn't answer until he got closer as he didn't even understand that Wolf Link asked him a question.

"There goes my plan... I'll never be cool enough for Beth, Malo, and Talo..." Colin said, "Ms. Sera won't let me buy the sling shot, she said she's too depressed to work right now..."

"Depressed? I wonder what happened!" Wolf Link said and walked to the shop himself.

Wolf Link entered the shop and, sure enough, Sera was looking extremely gloomy about something while holding onto a bottle of milk.

"Why are you so sad?" Wolf Link barked and whimpered.

He looked around and noticed that the cat that's usually there wasn't there anymore.

"Hey, it's not your fault... It's my own fault... I yelled at my kitty because he stole and ate my fish, but now he just won't come home... I wish there was something to do to bring Link home..." Sera said, sighing.

Wolf Link's ears perked up. While he was eating his breakfast, he thought he had seen the cat out by the river. He went outside to talk to Link the cat.

"Hey Cat Link, what's the matter?" Wolf Link asked the cat, even though he already knew.

"I did something I wasn't supposed to and now my owner is angry... So I came out here to get her a new fish, but I haven't had luck..." Cat Link said with a sigh, "I guess I'm the most worthless cat ever..."

"Let me try; if I can catch a good enough fish, you can claim that you caught it," Wolf Link said.

"Okay, thank you Wolf Link!" Cat Link said and sat down to wait.

Wolf Link waded into the river and swung his paw, pulling up... a tiny fish.

"No, that won't do," Cat Link said.

So then Wolf Link tried again, this time waiting for a bigger fish to show up. Indeed, a rather large one showed up within only a few minutes. Wolf Link pushed on it until it fell out of the river onto the river bank by Cat Link.

"Whoa! It's so huge! This will definitely please my owner!" Cat Link said and dragged the huge fish by the tail all the way to the shop.

Wolf Link smiled and had waited a few minutes before following Cat Link.

Inside of Sera's shop, Wolf Link found Cat Link happily lapping up the milk from the milk bottle that Sera was holding earlier.

"Look, Wolf Link! Link just brought back the biggest fish I have ever seen! I'm so happy to have my little Link back," Sera said, smiling.

Quickly, Wolf Link ran out of the shop and found Colin sitting in the dirt.

"Come on, Colin! I think Sera will let you buy that slingshot now!" Wolf Link said, beckoning Colin forwards.

"Why do you want me to follow you? Sera already refused to let me buy something once..." Colin said.

Wolf Link kept on beckoning for Colin to follow until he finally gave up and followed. Link stopped outside the shop and waited as Colin went inside. A few minutes later, Colin emerged with a huge smile on his face and in his hands, he held a brand new slingshot.

"I got it! I got the slingshot! Oh man, the others are going to be so jealous now! Thank you so much, Link!" Colin said.

He patted Wolf Link on the head and ran off.

"I absolutely love that kid," Wolf Link said to himself, grinning.
