A/N: Hey guys! I'm soooo sorry for taking so long, but school has been really complicated for me. Anyway, here is an extra long chapter, and I hope you guys enjoy!
8:15pm
At this time they were all gathered in Meredith's living room. Lauren, Joe, Brian, Jaime, Joey, Julia and Dylan all managed to convince their parents to let them stay at her house. Meredith's parents were pretty successful, so her house had enough space for the sleepovers she and her friends loved to have every now and then.
"I assume you kids will want pizza for dinner, as always." Mrs. Stepien said, reaching for the phone on the coffee table.
"Thanks Mrs. Stepien." Joey said. Joey loved Meredith's parents, and since they practically grew up together, he always felt like home there.
"So Joe, tell us more about yourself." said Julia, trying to break the ice, before Lauren hit her with her elbow.
"What? We're all wondering."
"I don't know what to say, what do you guys want to know?" he answered, looking directly at Lauren, who was sitting right across from him on the couch.
"Like, what do you want to do when you're older, why did you come here. Stuff like that."
"Well, I moved here because of my parents. And I'm not sure what I wanna do when I grow up. I love acting, maybe something related to that would be great."
"Really, you want to be an actor?" Lauren asked, surprised.
"I do, why?"
"I've always wanted to be an actress, just that." She answered, with a shy smile. He smiled back, and couldn't help but think to himself 'falling in love with her won't be hard. I think I already have'. Funny thing, she was saying the same to herself. The ambient in the room got a bit awkward, and so Dylan asked another question.
"You mentioned your parents, what do they do?" Dylan's attempt failed, because Joe's face turned stiff at this question. He started to get a bit nervous, looking at his cousin, Brian, begging for help.
"We'll, enough about Joe, should we start the movie?" Brian said as he got up from the couch and inserted to DVD on the DVD player.
"That was weird, right?" Lauren whispered to Julia. The way he dodged the question wasn't smooth at all, and that left her wondering for a while.
"That was really weird. You should ask him about that later." Julia answered, whispering as well.
"You think? I don't want to intrude on his life or something."
"Lauren, he's your soul mate. If his parents are terrorists or something like that you should probably know…"
"God Julia, I'm sure his parents aren't terrorists. But you're right, I'll ask him later."
"Lights out!" Joey screamed from the back of the room, that was now almost completely dark, being the only light source the tv.
The girls conversation was interrupted by the music coming from the tv, letting everyone know the movie was starting. Lauren got up and sat on the couch next to Joe, to get better vision of the tv, and also to be closer to him.
At first both of them felt a bit awkward to be so close to each other, but it didn't take long until Joe put his arm around her, and it felt so normal, like it was something that happened often. Lauren sure hoped it would happen more often.
10:00pm
The movie had about an hour and a half, and by the time it was over, the living room was a complete mess. Empty pizza boxes everywhere, empty and full cups of orange juice and candy. Lots of candy all across the coffee table.
"God, we really outdone ourselves this time." said Brian, looking at the mess from the couch, with Meredith snuggled right next to him.
"Yeah, my mom is going to freak out."
"We should probably try to clean some stuff up before going to sleep."
"Oh guys, I don't know if I can, I'm exhausted-" he adds dramatically.
"Joey, you always say that when it comes to cleaning."
"Yes, yes I do. And it's because I hate it."
"Joey, if you help, you can have the last Reese." Meredith was trying to convince him. He would never say no to chocolate.
"Deal." He quickly got up and took the chocolate from her hand, saving it in his pocket and started helping picking up the candy wrappers on the floor.
"So, is it always like this, your sleepovers?" Joe asked Lauren, as they both headed to the kitchen to put the dirty dishes on the sink.
"Yes, but most of them usually end up with all of us falling asleep in very uncomfortable positions on the living room." She answered, laughing.
"Well, then I really look forward to the next one." Joe looked at her in a sweet way. She returned the look, answering.
"Me too."
Their moment was interrupted by Brian's voice, shouting from the living room.
"Joe, can you take this trash outside?"
"Yeah, sure buddy." He answered coming in the living room and taking the bag from Brian's hands.
"I'll show you the way." Lauren appeared next him, smiling. The couple walked to the front door and went outside.
"Well, the trash can is right there." She pointed at it.
"Yeah, I can see that." He said, looking down, smiling at her.
"Smart and funny. You're a catch, Joe Walker."
"And you're beautiful." Joe let go of the trash, grabbed her and kissed her as passionately as he could. Lauren was thrown back at the kiss, but it didn't take long for her to return it.
"Well, that was…" Lauren said catching her breath.
"Good?"
"Unexpected was what I was thinking, but yeah, good." She smiled.
"I thought so too." Joe answered smiling back. "I should really put this away." He added, grabbing the bag again.
"Yeah, you should. I'll the inside, it's freezing out here."
"Oh, take my hoodie." Joe started to unzip his grey hoodie, revealing a plain white t-shirt underneath it.
"Are you sure?" she asked, grabbing it and putting it on.
"Of course. It looks great on you."
Lauren got in the house, only to see most of her friends were already inside their sleeping bags, asleep.
"Is that Joe's hoodie?" Meredith, the only girl up and awake, asked.
"Yeah, he gave it to me. It was cold outside."
"Well, I thought about that, but with that kiss I was hoping you wouldn't be cold at all."
"Ew." This small word was heard from inside Joey's sleeping bag.
"Shut up, Richter." Lauren said, kicking his sleeping bag.
"You saw that?" she then asked Meredith.
"Yes! How was it?"
"Only the best thing to happen in my entire live."
"Oh, little Lolo is in love!"
"Shut up, he'll hear you!" Almost as a coincidence, Joe walked in the house, looking at the two girls, smiling.
