Long time no see

So last time I updated here I was 14 lmao, I'm almost 18 now and finished (well quit) high school and go to I guess you can call it the Australian equivalent of community college? Idk.

Anywaaayyy, i was suddenly oh so graciously reminded of this cringe fest for a fic when I got an email notification today that someone reviewed it. I thought this fic had been buried down the hole that is , never to be seen again, but guess not. Even more surprisingly, I logged on here for nostalgia's sake and went to story stats and apparently this story gets viewed pretty frequently to this day.

I've wanted to finish this fic for years, but tbh, lmao it ain't happening. This has been too cringey for me to continue for years. I'll give like a brief summary of what I remember how I wanted to finish the fic at the end of this note.

Moving on, the reason I'm writing this is because I kinda...wanna rewrite the whole thing. Ouran has been very near and dear to my heart still after all these years (i have an ouran poster up in my room as tribute lmao), HikaHaru is still one of my all time favourite otps, and I'm still in love with the dystopia/apocalypse genre. Lately I've been needing a more narrative driven creative outlet, so today, after seeing that person reviewing, I've been inspired to write a story somewhat similar to this one again. (I've already started.) And this time it'll be a lot less cringe, try to make more use of the already existing characters in the series, DEFINITELY put more research in for a more cohesive story, try to have less plot holes, more focused on plot than just romance, etc etc... All the shit I didn't think about back when I was 12-14.

Also dot point summary of how this story was gonna end (what i remember):

haruhi was gonna hide the bite

she got sick and eventually even started puking up blood

everyone found out about it

she lived for maybe about another week, just getting paler, weaker, sicker, blood turning brownish/black

hikaru was getting hella sad about it

they tried to spend as much time together while she was still alive

on the night she's about to die and come back, hikaru decides to be the one to mercy kill her by shooting her in the head

he's broken, everything is sad

the end

also i think i intended for kaoru and miya or whatsherface to get together but FUCK THAT NOISE
