THIS WORK IS NOW ABANDONED.

Since I last updated this I have lost two computers, my notebook and my cat pissed all over my brainstorming sheet. I've been hoping that I will discover the inclination to figure out was going on in this fic hiding under a mental rock, but it hasn't happened.

I've tried to remember how the story would have gone, and it I suppose it would have gone something like this:

They don't get far. M'gann and Danny flee, but Robin is not the boy wonder for nothing and quickly captures them and drags them back to Mount Justice. Their brief escape is not for nothing though, because before he finds them M'gann manages to contact Artemis, who hurries to Mount Justice.

With Artemis comes Zatanna, and both of them bring hope with them. They've just encountered and laid to rest Secret, the ghost of Greta Hayes, and are feeling open to the idea of a more supernatural origin for Danny.

While the League look on dubiously, Zatara takes over Danny's situation. He has heard of the Ghost Zone. In Zatara and Zatanna's presence, Danny regains control of his ghost form: it seems that belief in ghosts affects his control.

There's some Batman-Robin, Black Canary-Herself, and Robin-Kid Flash conflicts here, but for the first time they acknoweldge that yes, Danny is his own person. Wally is disappointed in Robin's commitment to Batman over common sense while Batman seems to think it's a good thing and Dinah is somewhat horrified over her attempts to manipulate Danny.

M'gann is a bit unhappy about all of this, she sees it as a diversion from the truth, and when Zatara thinks he has something that will allow Danny to get home, she comes along for the ride with something (magic pendant thing maybe?) that can bring him back.

They arrive in Danny's neighbourhood. Everyone knows that Danny was captured by ghosts, and they're curious about where M'gann came from so they tell them that M'gann was captured too. She stays with them. Jack and Maddie are acting a bit strange, and they really don't like M'gann.

M'gann and Danny tell Jazz the truth and she's worried for them. In return, she tells them that she told Jack and Maddie about Danny's ghost powers. Jack and Maddie haven't shown any sign of this, though.

While staying with Danny's parents, M'gann gradually acknowledges the truth: Danny isn't her son.

M'gann is ready to go home. She says her farewells, but as she does so they question her on her origins, and Danny tells his tale about the ghost zone. His parents react badly, believing her to be a ghost, and Danny helps her with his powers.

His parents react even more volatility to this, and believe that they've stumbled on a new type of ghost. They think Ghost!M'gann killed Danny (and turned him into a ghost). Danny, according to them, is only a ghost that looks like their son. Jazz can do nothing but help M'gann and Danny hide.

Ultimately, they're drawn into battle with each other, and in the heat of the moment M'gann uses the amulet to escape. She activates it, taking them both back.
