So here is the next update. I was re-watching Camp Rock, and finally came up with an idea of how I wanted to tie Camp Rock back into this story. I am super excited about this development, and I hope you guys enjoy it as well.
The Unseen Truth
Chapter 3
Third Person
"Wow" Caitlyn awed in shock after hearing Mitchie's story. "Your mom really was Hot Tunes President, and you dad owns Munroe Studios. Why didn't you just tell everyone this?"
"Who was going to believe me," Mitchie responded back. "They wouldn't even give me a chance to explain. They all believed Tess, they all assumed I lied. I never said she was currently President of Hot Tunes TV China."
"I guess it just doesn't make sense why no one would believe you," Caitlyn responded. She was pissed off when she first found out, but she still took the time to listen and eventually understood where Mitchie was coming from.
"Once a person is tagged as something, it usually sticks and no matter what a person says that label will always be there," Sonny told Caitlyn. "Not everyone is as understanding as you are."
"And I learned that I don't want people to like me for you my family is," Mitchie began again. "being friends with Tess has made me realize that the people who are your true friends like you for you not because of how much money your family makes." Mitchie was just beginning to realize how manipulative Tess was and she didn't need those kinds of people in her life. She wanted to make a life and name for herself her way not Tess' way. Her way involved manipulation and cheating and she wasn't going to stand for it any longer. Leaving Camp Rock is the first step towards making her own life and moving out of the shadow Tess put her in.
"So, what do we do know?" Caitlyn questioned.
"We visit Sonny at her new job, visit the studio, and just spend time having fun," Mitchie replied. "We can still have a summer of fun. Plus, a little adventure in L.A. should be fun."
"Let's not forget the little dinner that is planned for tonight," Sonny stated with distain.
The conversation between the three girls slowed to talking about how their summers have been so far. Mitchie and Caitlyn told Sonny what exactly went down at Camp Rock and how they met. In return, Sonny told them about what was going on at So Random and about her co-workers: Tawni, Zora, Nico, and Grady. Sonny also told them about Chad and the ongoing feud between McKenzie Falls and So Random.
"Chad seems like such a jerk," Caitlyn stated causing Mitchie to nod her head in agreement.
"He definitely appears to be one," Sonny started saying, but began to think back to all the encounters that she had with the young teen. He was young just like she was, and he seems to have grown up in the spotlight. Her life could have been a lot different had she been living in L.A. her entire childhood. Having the escape of Wisconsin really helped her, and the fact that her father never let the fame get to his head or influence how he raised her.
As the girls continued to talk Mitchie's mind went back to the day after Shane found out she was lying. She had walked into dance class, and the room fell to a hushed silence. She vividly remembers Shane calling the room to attention.
Flashback
Shane has just called everyone to attention and told them to sit on the floor.
"So, Final Jam is coming up, and I know you're all very excited," Shane stated once everyone was seated.
Everyone immediately began cheering and shouting "Yeah!" and "You know it!"
Shane paused and looked directly in Mitchie's direction. "So, here's some advice," he began. "It's not all about you image. None of it means anything unless people see WHO YOU REALLY ARE. And, your music has to be who you really are. It's gotta show how you feel, or it doesn't mean anything." All throughout his speech, Shane kept his eyes on Mitchie, and Mitchie could see the hurt and disappointment in his eyes. He was disappointed in her and angry at her. It was then that Mitchie had decided that she could no longer stay at Camp Rock. She could not continue to see Shane in pain and decided it was better if he never saw her again.
End flashback (This part is from the movie. I DO NOT OWN THIS PART)
"Mitchie," Sonny called pulling Mitchie out of her thoughts.
"Yeah," Mitchie mumbled while looking at Sonny.
"Never mind" Sonny stated. She watched as Mitchie turned to look at Caitlyn and began talking to her about what they were going to do while Sonny was at work. She has listened to what the girls were saying as she began thinking about her sister. She knew that Mitchie was affected by what happened more than what she was actually letting on. She remembers the brief conversation she had with Mitchie and how she was telling her about Shane and their canoe ride. Sonny knew in that moment that her sister liked Shane Gray. While she didn't totally agree with her choice in guys, she would support her. Sonny knew that she had to do something to help her sister.
Meanwhile with Nate and Jason Gray
Nate was currently sitting in the Limo with Jason outside Jason's girlfriend's house. They were waiting for her to come outside, so the two could spend some time together before they had to be at a dinner at her parent's house. They had arrived back in California not too long ago, and Jason immediately wanted to see his girlfriend. The relationship between Jason and his girlfriend was really weird for Shane and Nate because he was dating the head of their company's daughter. Shane, Nate, and Jason were signed to Munroe Records three years ago, and Jason entered a relationship with Layla Munroe the previous year.
While they had met Mark Munroe multiple times, Nate had never actually spent much time talking to him, and now he felt as though he was being thrown to the wolves. Having dinner with his boss just seemed to awkward, but of course Jason didn't give him much of a choice.
"Nate, you're my brother you are supposed to be supportive of me, and I want you to be a part of the life I am creating with Layla," Jason told him when he had refused to attend. Jason may pretend to be a unintelligible goof, but he was actually really smart.
Nate still wished Shane was not at Camp Rock because then he wouldn't have to suffer alone. Thinking of Shane made him think of the event that happened at Beach Jam. He remembered the look on Shane's face when Shane found out the girl he liked had been lying to him all summer. Thinking of Mitchie, Nate believed that was her name, made him think about what he had seen prior to leaving Camp Rock.
Flashback
Nate was walking back to his cabin to pack the rest of his things before him and Jason parted for the airport. The last few days have been very eventful for the brothers. It all started with a random phone call from Shane telling him and Jason to get on plane and come to Camp Rock. When they arrived, Shane showed them a new song that he wanted them to sing at Beach Jam.
The real drama came after their performance at Beach Jam when Shane discovered that the girl he was beginning to fall for, even though Shane refused to admit, was lying to him the entire summer. Shane was so heartbroken that he and Jason decided it would be best to stay for the night and leave the following day, but Shane just spent the entire time complaining and shouting which led to Nate needing some space and walking around the camp grounds.
Nate was broken out of his thoughts by hearing three people talking. He looked to find Caitlyn and the girl he assumed was Mitchie based on the description he was given by Shane talking to who he assumed was Mitchie's mother. He saw a limo parked out front and someone putting bags into the limo. He was not shocked to find that Mitchie was leaving and that Caitlyn was going with her because of all the pressure being put on Mitchie. Everyone is talking about the incident and putting her down for it. What did shock him was the limo because it was known knowledge that the only reason why she was able to attend Camp Rock was a result of her mother getting a cooking job. Nate knew that there had to be more to what was going on than he originally thought.
"Nate," Jason yelled grabbing his attention. "You need to finish packing."
"I'm coming," Nate stated making his way back toward the cabin.
End Flashback
Nate knew that something was off and he was determined to figure out what although that will be hard considering Camp Rock is miles away from where he currently was. He was brought out of his thoughts by the door opening and Layla getting in the car.
"Hey babe," Jason said giving her a slight peck on the lips.
"Are you ready for this dinner?" Layla asked her voice laced with distain.
"You don't seem to happy about dinner," Nate pointed out.
"It's not that I'm not happy," she began. "It's just my sister is in town, and we haven't had the best relationship since our parents got a divorce. She spent all her time with our mom, while my brother, sister, and I stayed with our dad. I have a better relationship with her than my younger brother and other sister, but it's still not the best."
"I'm sure everything will go great!" Jason exclaimed trying to keep his girlfriend from worrying do much.
Meanwhile Back at Camp Rock
Tess was looking over the song that she currently had trying to remember the lyrics. Final Jam was coming up and she was completely unprepared since she decided to change what song she was going to sing. She was originally going to sing 'Too Cool', but then she found out that the girl Shane was looking for was Mitchie
She could not believe that the girl with the voice was Mitchie Torres. How could Shane like Mitchie? Tess couldn't let Mitchie get Shane. She already ruined her by exposing the truth, but if Shane ever found out that Mitchie was the girl with the voice it would ruin all her hard work. She was originally going to get her banned from Final Jam, but once she found out Mitchie was leaving Camp Rock she had a better idea. She was going to make Shane think that she was the girl with the voice, so she copied the song from Mitchie's song book. Now all she had to do was get Peggy and Ella on board.
"Peggy, Ella!" Tess said storming into their cabin "Change of plans!"
So, Tess stole Mitchie's song and is planning on singing it at Final Jam and Jason and Nate may end up meeting Mitchie. Will Nate and Jason actually meet Mitchie or will plans change? What will happen between Shane and Tess at Final Jam. Find out in the next chapter. I really hoped you liked this chapter. Feel free to tell me what you think about the chapter or any ideas or thoughts you would like to see.
