Chapter 6-
Laney's POV -
Oh crap… Come on Laney think of an excuse!
"I… uhh… well see... I… um…" They both look at me with mischievous grins. I don't think my babbling is working.
Suddenly out of the corner of my eye I see a small crab holding his pincers in the air. That's it!
"There! That crab right there. You see it?" I eagerly point at the crab.
"Yeah… What about it?" Kin questions.
"Well, it.. um.. pinched my leg.. and you know… it really hurt.. so yeah…" Smooth as ever Laney. Just like sand paper.
"Hahahahahaha!" The twins burst out into a fit of laughter. "That crab!?" Kin manages to say in between laughs. "Ooookay Laney, if you say so." With that they both walk away laughing like idiots.
I sigh part with relief and part with annoyance. They really can be idiots sometimes. As my eyes follow them to a near palm tree I hear a low grow, immediately I jump.
What was that?! I look around frantically but the nearest thing to a monster is the crab. Then again, a low growl.
This time I know where it came from. I look down at my stomach and put a hand on my belly. How long has it been since I've eaten? I didn't eat before the show, then of course the ship sank.
As my mind trails back to the enormous buffet table on the ship my stomach growls once more only this time more fiercely.
I look around the beach and the edge of the jungle for something edible.
Hmmm… there seems to be some coconuts on those trees. I look down and the crab is gone. He looked tasty. I pout slightly.
Corey's POV -
I need something to distract me. Maybe I should go talk to Kin and Kon. But what good will that do me?
My eyes slowly wonder to Lanes. Wow…
I realize what I'm doing and my head immediately snaps back to look at the ocean. Stop it Corey!
I then look towards the twins, what are they doing? I stand up and begin walking towards them, not really sure what I'll do once I reach them.
Surely I can't say anything about Laney that would be… weird… At that moment my stomach makes a low growl and my mind registers my need for food. "Damn.." I say softly.
Once I reach Kin and Kon I hear something about monkeys and chocolate ice cream. I ignore it and say loudly, "Hey guys."
Kins looks at me and a smile grows on his face. "Yes?" Is he trying to give me the creeps?
"Umm…oookay… Are you guys hungry?" As the word hunger leaves my lips Kon's eyes grow big.
"I thought no one was going to say anything, and I didn't want to be 'that guy'" Kon says and looks around the trees.
"Oh, so I'm 'that guy' huh? What exactly is 'that guy' like, Kon?" I feel a bit annoyed. Wait..? Did Kon just annoy me?! That can't be, I don't get annoyed.
As Kon fumbles on his words I sigh and say, "Sorry, I'm just hungry." Kin smiles then Kon smiles. Did they just use their twin-telepathy thing?
Kin's POV -
"Sorry, I'm just hungry." Corey apologises to Kon and I can't help but smile. I don't think it's hunger that's making him act differently.
I use twin-telepathy to talk to Kon, "Ha! Hunger? This guy. It's not hunger it's little Laney."
A smile spreads on my brothers face, simultaneously a confused look is splattered onto Corey's.
"Well, I saw some coconuts on the tree-tops, there might be some on the floor. We could go check." I suggest. I'm pretty hungry too.
"Sure, let's go." Corey heads to the jungle and I glance at Laney. I, once again, use twin-telepathy, "You think I should call Laney?"
Kon looks over at Laney then at Corey then finally his eyes land on me. "Yeah, she's got to be hungry too."
I cup my hands around my mouth and yell, "Hey Laney!" I see her jump slightly and her head shoots up to look at me. "Come on! We're going to look for food." She seems to hesitate for a second then yells back, "Okay," and runs towards us.
Author's Note - Okay so I know I've been gone for a loooooooong time and I am truly sorry. I just lost my inspiration for this and not a lot of people commented so I thought no one wanted to read but I don't want the people who were reading to be let down, so again sorry. I also had to focus on writing for my english class and since I'm a freshmen I really have to keep up with school and my grades. I'm on break right now so I thought it would be nice to write. I hope my writing hasn't completely gone down the pooper since I focus on expository writing in school. Long story short, I'm lazy, I'm sorry, and I hope I can keep writing this story because it is fun. If you guys leave a comment so I know that people are reading that gives me motivation to continue writing and I'll update. If you got this far I want to say thank you for reading :D
