LAST CHAPTER WHOO
This story was so fun to write, and all the reviews have made me wonderfully happy! Thank yooou
It was the day before the two months of Kakashi's bet was over, and he couldn't be more excited with the results. By the way Sasuke had stormed out of his apartment the afternoon before, he was certainly filled to the brim with hormones and rage, a dangerous mix for a young man. After what Kakashi told him, he was sure to react. And very soon.
By now, Sasuke already had gotten to know Sakura's work schedule, so he didn't hesitate to storm into Konoha Hospital, walking by the secretary from before without even explaining where he was going or what he was doing there.
(In fact, he wasn't exactly sure what he was doing)
Without knocking, he opened the door to her office, finding Sakura humming to herself while flipping through a tall stack of paperwork. She only looked a little surprised, but he assumed that was because she was so used to his chakra signature that she could sense him from a mile away.
"Do you need something Sas-" she started, trailing off as she watched him step up to her desk so that they were only a few feet away. He could see her cheeks flush a little, and he took that as a good sign.
"Are you in a romantic relationship with anyone?" he said, not thinking over how she might not appreciate his bluntness.
Her cheeks reddened and her mouth dropped open a little bit before she began to answer.
"Why do you need to know?" she asked back, furrowing her brow.
"Have you?" he continued, ignoring her question.
"…no," she admitted. She didn't really want to bring it up, but she had tried to immerse herself into the dating scene, and the only thing she got out of it was a bunch of dates that went nowhere, and the unnerving realization that she might never be able to truly get over Sasuke.
Seeing his flustered expression, she immediately shot up from her desk, looking quite concerned.
"Did you ever use those sleeping pills I gave you?" she said quickly, and he couldn't help but glance down at her lips. "You still seem pretty erratic, and as shinobi you can't just ignore your health because y-"
As she was lecturing him, she reached out her hand to feel his arm, and even though Sasuke knew she was just doing it to check his vitals, the second he felt her soft skin against his own, something inside of him snapped.
After all, he wasn't used to physical contact other than on the battlefield, and Sakura's gentle touch reminded him of his childhood. Warm, loving….
Without warning, he pressed his lips against hers forcefully, kissing her as best he could, being that the only experience he had was watching other couples interact.
He could feel her gasp, and since her lips opened, he deepened the kiss, pulling her closer to him so that he could feel her body pressed against him, so soft and small that he felt like she could break if he was too rough.
However, she quickly proved him wrong, wrapping her arms around him and guiding him along, running a hand through his hair, making him restrain a slight groan.
Little did they know that they both were thinking the exact same thing:
Why the hell did I not do this earlier?
Once they broke apart, their bodies remained close, hands on each other while they caught their breath.
"In case it wasn't obvious, I want to date you," he grumbled out, making her giggle slightly.
"I could tell."
"And I want you to know that I'm being completely serious about this."
"Are you ever not serious?" she joked, to which he reluctantly nodded in agreement.
"You don't have to move in immediately, but you'll be living in the Uchiha compound with me from now on."
She raised an eyebrow, pretending that his words didn't just make her insides melt into goo.
"Usually people don't do that until after at least a few months of dating."
"We've known each other since we were 12."
"True…"
And since we'll be restoring the clan together, it's better to start soon.
"So.." she muttered, taking a step back to break the intense contact they had. "Do you want to get lunch or something? Since we're going to do this and all?"
"Hn," he agreed. "And Inzuka won't be around this time."
"Don't be jealous, "she laughed, putting away her paperwork to get ready to leave. He watched her bend down slightly to open a drawer, sliding her files inside.
He ignored that comment, instead focusing on straightening out his wrinkled clothes before she could see.
"Are you okay with ramen?" Sakura asked. "We might run into Naruto, but the taste is worth it."
"That's fine," he agreed, opening the door for her as they walked out. As Sakura waved goodbye to the receptionist, she was met with a sly smile as the woman noticed how close Sasuke was walking next to her, falling in step without being too obvious about it.
Once they left the building, Sakura smiled as she felt the warmth of the sunlight against her skin, and Sasuke watched her sigh contently.
However, her face quickly went serious.
"Sasuke…have you ever kissed someone before?" she whispered out, her voice still airy from the overwhelming emotions she had experienced in the past ten minutes.
"No," he frowned, not making eye contact. "Have you?"
She laughed nervously.
"Definitely not like that," she grinned, before turning into a frown. "And you probably wouldn't be okay with who it was with."
Sasuke decided to drop the topic, instead watching her relax once their favorite (and only) ramen shop came into view.
As they sat down at a table and placed their orders, Sakura suddenly laughed to herself, her mind obviously focused on something important.
"The twelve year old me probably could never believe what we're doing now," she admitted. "I've very glad that I passed that stage pretty quickly."
His face remained stoic, processing the information she had just given him.
"Does that mean you don't have a crush on me anymore?"
"N-No!" she stammered out. "I…uh…still like you…I'm just not ridiculous about it."
Now is probably not the time to bring up that I still definitely feel more than just "like" Sakura thought to herself.
"You've definitely changed since then."
"Good or bad?" she nervously replied.
"Good," he replied. "I should've appreciated it earlier."
Her lips turned upwards.
"Yeah, you should have, because-"
"HEY! Sakura! Sasuke is that you?" a loud voice exclaimed, the owner being quite obvious, considering they both had to hear it pretty much every day.
They watched Naruto stroll over, and they both felt pretty insecure, wondering if he could somehow tell what had transpired.
However, considering that his happy grin dropped to a horrified look, they assumed the worse.
"I need to go now," the blonde hurriedly explained, slamming money on his table for his food before practically sprinting out of the restaurant.
"I have a feeling that that's not good," Sakura muttered.
After they were done with their first "date-date," they were both still pretty awkward, considering that neither of them had been in a serious relationship before.
"So…do you want to walk me to my apartment?" Sakura asked.
"Why?" Sasuke responded. "Do you feel unsafe walking alone?"
Sakura rolled her eyes. "That's just what boys are supposed to do."
"Hn," Sasuke muttered, though it was clear he didn't understand how a kunoichi that was considered to be a part of the next trio of sanin would need someone to walk next to her in order to get home.
It only took a few minutes to get there, and assuming that since an invitation inside might lead to him making inappropriate decisions for so early in the relationship, he declined once she offered. However, he was quite pleased that she gave him a quick peck on the lips before unlocking her door, making him realize that he certainly liked the feeling of her lips on his own.
(He felt very content knowing that he would probably be feeling them quite often from now on)
But before he forgot, he needed to get a very important question off of his chest.
"Did you ever…make out with Kakashi for a mission?" he asked carefully, trying not to look too desperate to know the answer.
Her eyes widened, and she smiled sheepishly, obviously embarrassed.
"Um…yeah. But it was only because it was absolutely necessary for the mission. Otherwise I wouldn't have-"
"I have somewhere to be," he interrupted quickly, trying not to show the sudden anger that overtook him. Definitely not for her, but for a certain someone that he needed to pay a visit to. "I will meet you tomorrow."
"…okay?" Sakura replied, stepping inside her apartment and apparently not noticing his sudden (dramatic) change of mood.
He immediately rushed to Kakashi's house, ignoring the civilians that he had to push by to get there.
He pounded on the door, barely restraining himself from punching Kakashi's face when he opened it.
"Ah—Sasuke! To what pleasure do I owe your company?" he silver-haired jonin said happily. (too happily)
"You. Me. Training fields. Sparring. Now," Sasuke ordered out, watching Kakashi's smile only getting increasing with every word he growled out.
"Sure, but I have to put away my groceries first. I'll be there in twenty minutes."
Sasuke frowned. "Fine."
"You caught me in a great mood! I recently won a bet, and it was all for the benefit of others!"
"Yeah. Sure."
"You just missed Naruto stop by, though he isn't in the best of moods. I hear he just lost a lot of money, so he'll have to take more missions from now on."
"How convenient for you," Sasuke remarked.
"The less time I have to teach you guys the same things over and over again, the more reading time I have," Kakashi smiled.
Sasuke ignored him, leaving for the training field.
Before, I thought that asshole was lying about the mission. But now I'll just have to make sure he never touches Sakura again, even if it's for some bullshit mission.
The next day, Sasuke met Sakura again during her lunch break, picking a small dango shop that was sure to have no sign of Naruto or anyone else they knew interrupting.
"How was your day?" Sasuke asked, trying his best to make small talk, as he wasn't very used to it.
"Not very exciting," Sakura commented. "Though Kakashi came in very early in the morning looking like hell. He wouldn't say what happened, but he looked close to death."
Sasuke smirked.
"Sounds like he learned a lesson."
Sakura gave him a weird look, but didn't say anything. Sometimes Sasuke made no sense, and she wasn't sure if it was just his lack of normal social ability, or him just being cryptic.
However, knowing him, it was probably the latter.
I recently made an okcupid account and some profiles/messages are inspiring me so much for future AUs. So even though I'm gonna finish up my other fics first, definitely plan on seeing a cute online-dating fic in the future (not sure what pairing it will be yet).
