Trust in the Force, Trust in Yourself
It can be very tempting,
The urge to trust things or others.
To trust in yourself seems not
A path to take in your life.
I was once like that myself,
A person with attachments to technology,
Because I loved tech with too much of my heart,
And put it ahead of the Living Force.
But there is another reason
Why technology meant more to me
Than my own welfare as a Jedi
And the welfare of other living beings.
It was my terrible fear that I
Needed tech to remember every detail
Of the structure and society
Of the whole galaxy at large.
I couldn't live with the fear
That if I lost my electric machines,
I would have nothing to rely on
In a tight situation.
But in the crystal caves of Ilum,
I learned that to trust in yourself
Is to truly trust in the Force,
To trust in life and the living themselves.
I needed to meditate and concentrate
On what it was that I needed to know
In order to remember what it was
Without needing an object of reference by me.
I needed faith in the Living Force
And in my ability to trust my instincts
To overcome my reliance on tech,
And to make my spiritual connection.
I may retain my love of tech stuff,
But never again will it replace the Force's will,
For wherever I may go in life,
I will always trust in the Force and me first.
Trust is my talent, my weapon against doubt,
Which makes me join with the Force in faith.
A/N: This poem is in honor of Zatt the youngling's lesson on learning to trust in the Force and trust in himself more than in his machines in difficult spots. I plan on writing more poems for the other "Young Jedi" younglings as well, in honor of their own lessons about themselves and the Force.
