A Life Behind These Secluded Walls

Chapter 3

Tony Stark rubbed his temples in frustration for seemingly the hundredth time.

"JARVIS?"

"Yes sir?"

"What the hell is all this?" Tony asked, staring at the huge container currently sitting in the middle of the room.

Baby Loki had finally let go of him, when Thor bribed him with food. Tony shuddered remembering the horrible never ending glare of doom Thor had been giving him, he was simply glad that Loki had left him be.

"It is what you asked for sir"

"JARVIS, I asked you to get me things to take care of a baby, not the whole fucking baby department!" Cribs, toys, food, baby bottles, more cribs, medicine, anything that came to Tonys mind that had even slightest connection to babies was in container.

"You told me to get 'everything and anything you would need to take care of a Norse baby god' I simply did as I was told. Sir."

"Don't get smart with me,".

"I would never dream of it sir"

Tony sighed once again, rubbing the bridge of his nose in frustration.

"Alright, might as well get started."

Three hours later, with the help of the whole Avengers team, Loki's room was nearly complete, it was a fairly large room,. The room was luckily already painted; only simple organization all the things received for the room was needed.

On the walls of the room was an amazing painting of a stunning forest, the carpet a nice creamy page color, while the ceiling was painted a mix of light blue with a bit of orange-ish red and a little yellow, with white puffs to imitate a sun setting sky with nice fluffy clouds.

There was a black and green baby crib on one corner of the room, with a small light brown table right near it with a baby monitor and lamp sitting atop it. On opposite sides of the room sat two black twin couches while a medium sized toy box sat right near one of the couches, filled with an assortment of interesting toys.

A big brown cabinet filled with all the major necessities needed to take care of a baby (diapers, thermometer, wipes, blankets ect) sat near the opposite couch. Right beside that was another long medium sized cabinet filled with clothing, shoes, and jackets.

A nice child proof table sat in the middle of the room, with some children books atop it.

Concealed lights were littered all around the ceiling camouflaged with the painting of the sky;, but when turned on the lights, it made the painting glow in an amazing way.

And because Tony insisted, a flat screen T.V was attached to one corner of the room, with a DVD player under it. Right near that was a small shelf filled with movies, and books.

And last but definitely not least, behind one of the black couches was a window that stretched across the whole wall, with a breath taking view of the city.

The team, plus Loki, stood in the room, looking and doing final touches here and there. But finally they had finished setting up the room, why they decided to do the room themselves they didn't completely know, but now that it was done with they were proud of themselves.

Tony grinned at his fellow teammates, "Well, I think we did a pretty good job."

Steve nodded his head in agreement, "Yeah well-"

It was at that moment that a pigeon smashed into the window outside with a loud squawk, the team all reflexively had there hands automatically at there weapons at the noise, then froze as they saw what it was that caused it.

The poor bird was sliding slowly down the window, struggling lightly until it suddenly fell off, and down below into the streets. There was a moment of silence which was thoroughly broken by baby Loki bursting out laughing hysterically

Tony and Clint then joined Loki, but the rest of the team stood there confused and slightly pitying the poor bird.

"…anyways," Steve continued, , "I think its time for dinner."

Everyone agreed.

After the team had stuffed themselves with pizza and for Loki some baby food (which he though would be fun to throw at Thor's face), they were chilling in the main room just chatting while Thor put Loki to bed.

A few minutes later, Thor came back with a troubled look oh his face. Bruce was the first to speak up about it, "Thor? Is everything okay?"

Thor only shook his head and took a seat in one of the unoccupied chairs. He sighed then lifted up his hand to show the people in the room what he was holding.

It was a multi-colored stone, it was a little smaller then your fist. It was mostly black and red, but had bits of blue, yellow, and orange. It was amazing to look at, but with the look on Thor's face they knew probably wasn't anything good.

"Listen well, my friend, for this is of great importance," Thor began. "As I was leaving Asgard the All father gave me this stone. He then told me –"

| Flashback |

"Thor my son, before you leave I must tell you one last thing of great importance." Odin said as he gripped Thor's shoulder. He then handed Thor a beautiful multi-colored stone with a grave face.

Thor balanced a sleeping Loki in one arm, and took the stone in the other. He then examined the stone with a thoughtful look on his face. "What is it, father?" he asked respectfully.

Odin held a grim look on his face, "When I turned Loki back into a baby, his most extreme memories and feeling manifested and converted themselves into this stone. I have found that we are able to physically project these memories from this stone and watch them."

A surprised look colored Thor's face, as he once again looked at the stone. "Have you-"

"No. I have yet to watch them, as I believe it is neither my place nor right to do so. Take this with you back to Midgard, and watch it with your allies there. Perhaps it will be able to show you further why Loki did the things he had done, and to also show us the errors we have made, so we shall not make them again."

|End Flashback |

"Wait, wait, so your dad wants us all to watch Loki's memories?" Clint asked

"Yes, he believes that if we are all to live with Loki and accept him, then we must understand him."

"Well, that's all fine and dandy but how exactly are we supposed to 'watch' it anyways?" Tony countered. .

Thor paused, not having asked his father that question. He shrugged then shook the stone. When nothing happened, he tried rubbing it, blowing at it, and when nothing he could think of worked his anger got the best of his and he threw the stone angrily across the room where it promptly hit the wall and fell to the ground.

The second Thor threw the stone it began to glow softly, then moments later much harder when suddenly a light enfulged the whole room and the Avengers flinched back at the sudden onslaughter of light.

When they opened there eyes they were all taken by surprise;, it was as if they were in a whole different world.

"Where are we?" Captain America asked.

"And how did we get here." Bruce questioned pushing his glasses up, while taking deep breaths as he didn't want to lose control. His ears were lightly tinged green.

They seemed to be in a forest, "Wait, I think I know where we are –" Thor's comment was cut off when they heard shuffling to their right when suddenly a little boy no older then perhaps six years old fell right in front of them.

"Ow" He exclaimed as he landed on his knees. His face was scratched up, and there were bruises on his arms and legs. He didn't seem to notice them even though they were only a couple feet away from him. He has dark black hair that was slicked backwards and emerald green eyes, he was dressed in what seem like royal clothing but didn't focus on that as three more kids came out from the direction the first boy came from.

They were all laughing and weirdly they too seemed to have not seen them. The first dark haired boy quickly scrambled to his feet to face the boys who had come behind him. He glared at them.

The boy in the middle, clearly the leader, smirked at the dark haired boy then pushed him back down to the floor.

"What," The boy on the right sneered "is the princess gonna cry, your shield of a brother isn't here to protect you this time!" The other two snickered.

Suddenly it all clicked in Thor's mind. "Friends, that is Loki!"
