Newcomer

'Johnny!' Charlie yelled. 'You have to go! Pick up the new girl!'

'On my way!' and he left.

He better not make being late for the new guys a habit. She thought.

~at the airport~

'Jeez, where is that Johnny guy?' Cloe asked herself. She tried calling Charlie again, voicemail. She must be on a case. She thought.

'Cloe?' she heard someone ask and turned around. 'Johnny?'

'Yeah.'

'Why did it take you this long? I've been standing here for over an hour!'

'Seriously? You're just like the last new guy.'

'Did the last guy get mad and made you buy food?'

'No.'

'Then I'm not like the last new guy.'

'Okay, let's go.' He said and he picked up her bag. They started walking towards the car. 'You're young though. What are you, like sixteen or so?'

'Seventeen. Graduated high school and the acadamy early. Now what about the food? I'm starving!'

'We'll stop at Hector's on the way. What's your last name by the way? Charlie only told me your first.'

'Warren. What's Hector's?'

'Warren? Really, you're not joking are you? Warren?'

'Yeah, why would I be joking. Now what is Hector's?'

'Oh, it's the best taco-place in the city.'

'Okay, let's go!' They stepped in the car and Johnny put her bags in the trunk while texting Charlie.

Warren huh?

He got in and drove off. They stopped at Hector's and before they ordered Johnny said: 'If someone tries to steal something here, don't go after him. Your cover's everything.'

'Duh, I understand, I'm not stupid.'

'We the last new guy didn't.'

Johnny was right the taco's were amazing. Chloe was just wondering why Johnny looked so amazed when he heard her last name.

'Hey, what's wrong with my last name?'

'Nothing.'

'Then why were you smiling like an idiot when you heard it?'

'You'll see when we get back.' Then his phone rang.

Yeah, no confirmation if it's one of my 'in laws' or not. We'll find out when she meets Mike.

They headed back to the car and drove to Graceland. Cloe was shocked by the size of the house and couldn't stop staring.

'You ready to come inside?'

'Uh, yeah.' She said, snapping out of her trance.

'So you know Charlie, sorta. She, Briggs, Mike and myself are F.B.I. like you. Paige is D.E.A. and Jakes is Customs.'

'And how does that work?'

'We all become a big family at one point. Yo, anyone home?'

'Johnny relax we were working.' Paige said walking in followed by Charlie, Briggs and Jakes.

'Oh, hi! You must be Cloe-, uh, Cloe what?' Paige asked.

'Cloe Warren.' She said shaking their hands while they shot eachother promising looks and introducing themselves. 'You said there was another guy, uh, Mike?'

'Yeah, he's upstairs.' Charlie said. 'Mike! Come say hello to the new girl.'

'Coming.' He yelled in a voice that sounded familiar to Cloe.

When he walked in, though, her breath stopped. What was he doing here? He seemed to be asking himself the same question.

'You guys know each other?' Paige asked.

'Yeah, he's my brother.' 'She's my sister.' They said at the same time.

'Yeah! I win!' Paige said. 'Pay up!'

~in Cloe's room~

'Why didn't you tell me?' she asked.

'I couldn't.'

'Mom thinks you're dead, you know that. Because you never reached out to her. She cut me off because she thinks she's gonna lose me anyway.'

'You know I couldn't.'

'You could at least have told her you were alive. She's gone all paranoid.'

'Maybe. Are you done unpacking?'

'Yeah, let's go, but I'm still mad at you!'

'Come here!' he said as he pulled her in for a hug. 'I missed you.'

'I missed you too.'
