"Come on Lily! Please, please, pretty please?" asked Sirius, badgering Lily.

"I said no Sirius! It's far too dangerous! He's your godson, think about him!"

"But Lily when have I ever been irresponsible on my motorbike?"

"Hmm… Let me think… what about the time when you thought it would be fun to drive all the way through Diagon Alley and crash into Florean Fortescue's Icecream Parlour? Or try to have a race with the Knight Bus by going at a ridiculous speed? And losing."

James could hear Lily and Sirius arguing in the kitchen from the garden, it was normal to hear such conversations in the Potter household. Sirius would always come up with a crazy idea and Lily would always oppose the idea, with good reason. Sirius was almost like another son to Lily. James walked up the patio with a 5 year old Harry running in front of him.

"Sirius!" Harry exclaimed as they entered the kitchen, opening his arms wide open.

Sirius picked Harry up and ruffled his thick, messy hair.

"Harry! You've grown since the last time I saw you!" observed Sirius.

"And when was that?" asked Lily. "A week ago?"

Sirius glared at Lily, but laughed all the same. Sirius put his godson down and Harry whizzed round and round the kitchen. For a 5 year old he was quite fast, but also quite small and definitely very mischievous.

Sirius looked at him proudly.

"I'm telling you, James. He's a marauder in the making."

"I hope not" disapproved Lily. "I don't want my son getting expelled from Hogwarts before he's even taken his OWLs."

"What was all that noise about, anyway?" asked James. "One of Sirius's brilliant ideas again?"

"For Merlin's sake, James! He wants to take Harry for a ride on his motorbike!" complained Lily.

"That is brilliant!" James admitted. "Can I come?" he asked, his eyes twinkling with excitement.

He quickly calmed down after earning himself a deathly glare from Lily.

"But of course that's extremely irresponsible of you Sirius! You could have an accident!" added James whilst quickly glancing at Lily nervously.

"Oh come on James!" Sirius said as he threw James an apple. "You know better! Do you really think I'd crash my motorbike with my godson on it?" questioned Sirius desperately.

James caught the apple and exchanged looks with Lily. They knew Sirius was right. No matter how dangerous some of Sirius's ideas were, he would never do anything to hurt Harry in any way.

"Fine, Sirius, fine. But you can't go anywhere without my addition of a few safety charms." Lily said.

Sirius began jumping up and down, Harry looked at him curiously and started copying his actions. A grown man and a 5 year old boy were both excitedly jumping up and down.

"You'd think they were the same age from the way they behave." said Lily.

She looked across at James and saw him laughing so hard he couldn't breathe.

Lily shook her head. "Boys" she muttered.
