disclaimer - i don't own kickin' it. for the last time!

Kim burst into the building, not even stopping to wave through the doorman or even breathe. She had to find Jack. Dripping wet, she climbed up the stairs to the 3rd floor and flew into Jack's apartment. Kim almost broke down at what she saw: A completely empty apartment, much like her own. She wandered around in dismay until she spotted the keys on the table. She gasped and ran up to the table. He hasn't left yet! But then she stopped. Where would he be if he were not here? Her eyes widened and she yet again sprinted up the stairs, Jack's keys in hand. When Kim finally reached the door to fire escape room, she took a deep breath. He had to be in here. If he wasn't, well he wasn't going anywhere without his keys. She ran through the door, and there he was. Leaning against the window, one hand pressed against the window. He turned when he heard the door open and his eyes filled with tears.

"Wha- You- Came back?" Jack asked cautiously, not knowing if this was real or not. Kim responded by walking up to him and kissing him.

"I never should've left." She whispered.

Epilogue.

I woke up with the sun in my eyes. The same sun that has been shining in my window for the past year. I rolled to my side, where a sleeping Jack had snuggled up to me. I giggled at his messy hair and slowly got out of bed. I stared out the window for a while. I no longer hated mornings, or the annoying way the sun blares into my retinas. Because it was beautiful. And there is beauty in everything.
