The phone ringing beside her head woke Tiffany from a restless sleep. She glanced at the clock by her bed and saw it was seven in the morning, she winced as she reached for the cordless phone.
"Hello?" She knew she sounded tired as she stifled a yawn.
"Tiff, I need you to do me a favor." His voice sounded hungover.
"Chucky? Where are you?" She asked sitting up in her bed.
"You're not going to like this...I'm in jail." He said with a heavy sigh.
"What?what happened?" She asked.
"Public drunkeness, look can you come get me out?" He asked.
"Now? What am I going to do with the kids?" She asked.
"I need you Tiff, I really need you." He said, and she broke a little.
"Let me call my friend Lily, I'll see if she can babysit." She said.
"Thanks Tiff, I'll see you soon." He hung up and she took a deep breath.
What was she supposed to tell Lily exactly? If she told her the truth Lily would think she was crazy but if she lied the twins would probably tell the truth as soon as she was gone anyway. She couldn't let him sit in jail either.
Forty Five minutes later Tiffany walked into the police station. She had pulled on her favorite black heels and black skirt, her black top and a leather jacket. She worse sunglasses in an attempt to hide her face or rather Jeniffer Tillys face, but her body screamed for mens attention. A few officers whistled when she passed them and a few criminals made cat calls. She kept walking until she reached the desk.
"Hello, I'm Jeniffer Tilly, I'm here to pick up my friend." She said softly.
"Lucky friend." The cop said.
"Yes, well he was brought in last night, Brad Dourif." She said.
"Oh yeah, I know who you mean. Didn't you guys do that movie together about the killer dolls?" He asked and she smiled.
"Ages ago." She said.
"I loved you in bound." He said while typing on the computer.
"Thank you." She said with a sigh.
"Okay, I'll go get him. I'll be right back." The cop said.
He disappeared through a door and she took a deep breath. She used to get him out of jail a lot, but now using the bodies of actors it was so much more risky. She glanced at her watch. The cop came out of the room and motioned Chucky towards her, despite being angry she was relieved to see him.
"Tiff." He moved around the desk taking her in his arms and she winced.
The cops all lifted their heads to look at the two of them. She flushed it would be all over hollywood in no time that Jeniffer Tilly was dating her old co-star Brad Dourif. He moved for a kiss and she ducked away.
"Brad, you're still drunk." She said through her teeth hoping he understood.
He looked confused at first then slowly he realized what she was saying and he gave a slight nod. She turned to the cop and finished paying the fine as quickly as possible. He smiled at her a as he slid her copy towards her.
"Thank you." She said shoving her copy in her purse.
As they stepped onto the street Chucky winced at the sunligh. She grabbed his arm steering him towards the car. He slid into the passenger seat and when she slammed her door he groaned in agony.
"Do you mind? I'm still hungover."He said rubbing his head.
"What the hell is wrong with you?" She asked starting the car.
"I'm sorry?" He looked confused.
"Do you have any idea what could happen if somebody saw me picking you up? Saw Jennifer Tilly picking up Brad Dourif at jail, after being held in a drunk tank all night? The rumors alone will be ridiculous." She said.
"So what? Let people talk. You're my wife." He said.
"No, I'm not. Not as far as hollywood is concerned." She said.
"We can remedy that easily enough." He said.
"No. I'm not marrying you." She said, backing out onto the street.
"Okay, so I went a bit nuts over that letter, I'm sorry." He said.
"It's not about that, we have children now and you can't just storm off and get drunk everytime I do something you don't like." She said.
"Don't use the kids as an excuse I didn't sign up for being a parent. I didn't ask for kids and I never wanted them, you did." He said.
"That's right, and I still want them. I'm a mother I have twins to raise and I'd rather do it alone than with a man who runs out on them all the time. You didn't see how bad you hurt them last night." She said.
He didn't say anything as she drove, down boulevards and side streets. Passing tall palm trees and fancy cars.
"Do you still love me?"He asked finally.
"It doesn't matter." She said.
"It matters to me." He said.
"A few years ago I would have given anything to be with you again, I was desperate. Then you killed me and trapped me in the body of a doll. Once I got this body I realized it wasn't about what I wanted anymore everything is for Glen and Glenda. Our time is over, it's never coming back Chucky." She said.
"We always did have bad timing."He said with a heavy sigh.
"Yeah, we did."She said.
She pulled into the driveway and he slowly climbed out of the car, noting the red BMW parked in the drive. He walked to the door his head pounding with each step, when he opened the door the twins both ran into the kitchen. When Tiffant entered behind him the twins rushed passed him launching themselves at her legs. She smiled, but he could see how tired she was. She lifted Glenda into her arms and Glen clung to her side.
"Mommy, we woke up and you were gone." Glenda said.
"I know, but aunt Lily was here." Tiffany said.
A tall slender brunette walked into the kitchen, she was wearing skinny jeans and a rew sweater. Her hair was in a braid and she had on glasses. She eyed Chucky then shook her head grabbing her purse.
"Since your home I'm going to leave and catch some sleep." She said.
"Thanks Lily." Tiffany said.
"Anytime." She gave Chucky a look of distaste as she passed him.
Bending she gave Glenn a kiss on the cheek then reached out to ruffle Glendas hair. When the door closed behind her, Tiffany started towards the stairs.
"I think you two should go back to bed." Tiffany said.
"No, I'm not sleepy."Glenda whined, but she rubbed her eyes and laid her head on Tiffanys shoulder.
She carried Glenda to her room and tucked her snugly into bed, then she helped Glen climb into his, she kissed his forehead and closed the door behind her confident that both children would be asleep in seconds. She could hear Chucky in the bedroom and she opened the door, he was throwing things into a suitcase, she closed the door behind her.
"What are you doing?" She asked.
"Packing, I'm borrowing a suitcase. I'm leaving Tiff." He said, not looking at her.
"Where will you go?" She asked.
"I don't know, but I can't stay here. I'm going to destroy you." He said.
She didn't say anything and he continued to pack, finally he started for the door. She stood there watching him.
"You would leave because you don't want to hurt me?" She asked.
"No, I'm leaving because I can't keep fighting you about everything. Your mother was a drunk and look at what she did to you." He said.
"I wish we could make this work, but I have children now." She said.
"I know, and I know what that means to you." He said.
"I do love you." She admitted.
"Damn it." He dropped his suitcase and took two steps towards her.
A second later his lips were slanted across hers, His hands went to her lower back pulling her body flush against his. She took a step back and he followed, his hand that wasn't on her back rested on the door above her head. She broke away first and he moved to start kissing her neck.
"I want you so damn much, all the time."He said breathlessly.
Her only reply was a whimper of agreement as he tore the clip from her hair, letting it fall down. He sunk his teeth into the sensitive skin on her kneck and she ground her hips against his, he backed away pulling her towards the bed.
"Strip."He said in a soft but commanding voice.
She bit her lip and hesitated for a second, debating if this was what she wanted. After a minute she kicked off her shoes and did as he asked.
