Disclaimer: I do not own any of the Junjou Romantica characters. This is just a story for fun and none of this is cannon to the actual anime. Read on!

Nowaki and Misaki walked back to the apartment complex in tense silence. Surprisingly, their evening wasn't ruined by the appearance of either of their past lovers. At least Misaki didn't have to confront Usagi on such a festive day. He did, however, ended up mad at his current lover and if on the way to have their first serious argument, though he hoped it didn't turn into a full blown argument. The last thing he wanted was for them to start yelling and end up going to bed angry with each other. They walked through the front door, passed a few other neighbors who were at the festival as well, and boarded the elevator for their floor

As they waited silently Misaki had time to calm down and actually think about his feelings. Why was he even angry? Nowaki had listened to his problems. Hell, he even got into an actual physical fight with his ex lover because of his disrespect toward him. Misaki wasn't so sure until he actually thought back to what Nowaki had told him. He didn't actually tell him who his lover was. He had a general idea from what he's been told, but he was too focused on his issues with Usagi to really put the pieces together until now. Now he understood why Shinobu always acted conscious around Nowaki. He knew Nowaki and the demon were lover! He made a mental note to ask Shinobu how exactly he knew before him. Either way, he was probably just more upset about the whole situation because it's his current teacher. If he had any connection to Nowaki's ex lover he would have liked a heads up. Finding out on a date wasn't really the most pleasant of ways. The two exited the elevator once they hit their floor.

Nowaki stopped in front of his door and looked at Misaki, "I'll be over in a moment. I just want to get out of these clothing."

Misaki nodded, already walking away before Nowaki could give him a kiss. Sighing, the doctor made his way into his apartment to mentally prepare for anything either of them might say. Once in his night gear Nowaki headed back out to Misaki's door. He entered without knocking, knowing full well that the door is always unlocked if they ever planned to spend time together. Misaki was already in his green pajamas with the cute slippers he got him. He would have started teasing Misaki if he wasn't seated on the couch with a serious face. Closing the door behind him Nowaki walked over and took a seat next to the younger man. They stared at each other for a few seconds before Misaki decided to start the conversation.

"So...when were you planning on telling me Kamijo-sensei was your previous lover?"

Nowaki shifted, laying against the couch with his eyes closed as he replied, "It just slipped out of my mind to tell you."

"So you were going to keep it from me until when?" Misaki asked, a bit agitated.

Nowaki glanced at him, "I don't know Misaki. It's not really a topic I enjoy delving into."

Misaki grabbed Nowaki's face so he was looking straight at him, "I have shared with you my personal experience with Usagi and have never pushed to ask you about your past love life. I was hoping to give you time to warm up to the idea of telling me. Because of all this drama, I haven't tapped on the topic and pretended to not be interested in who your ex was. That was my own fault. However, you know very well I had Kamijo as a teacher. Why would you decide to keep that information from me when he is not only my teacher, but a long time friend of Usagi?" Misaki waited for a response, but continued when Nowaki stayed silent, "I know it's hard. I know everything that's been going on, especially Usagi coming back, is putting stress on you. Isn't that right?" Nowaki nodded, "Then we won't have this conversation now."

Nowaki looked at Misaki in surprise when the boy moved away from him. He watched as he walked to the kitchen and started preparing what looked like tea for them both. "What do you mean we won't have this conversation? Aren't you upset?"

Misaki responded as he waited for the water to heat up, "Oh, I'm a bit upset, but not as mad as you probably think I am. I'm not stupid Nowaki. I know you still have some feelings toward Kamijo-sensei. I know you won't leave me, but I know there are things you still want to say to him. I won't ask of you more than what you ask of me. We both know eventually Usagi and I will need to talk. As long as you understand that one day I need to talk to Usagi alone, then I can wait until you have that same talk with senpai to hear the full story between the both of you."

Nowaki got up from his comfortable seat on the couch and moved over to stand on the other side of the kitchen island. "Are you sure?" He asked. He watched as Misaki began to pour the hot water into the tea cups.

Misaki nodded, handing one of the cups to Nowaki. "What else can I do Nowaki? I don't want us to argue over something so stupid. Wait that came out wrong! Okay, not stupid but usele- WAIT THATS NOT RIGHT EITHER! By useless I meant that it doesn't concern us right now! It's important! But it's not important to what we have. Wait that doesn't sound good either! What I mean-"

Nowaki laughed. He pat Misaki on the head, causing the latter to blush a deep pink. Nowaki sighed, but still had a smile on his face when he began to speak, "I understand what you mean Misaki. You don't want that information to interfere with our current relationship and ruin what we have," Nowaki paused to grab Misaki's hand and pull him around the island. Once Misaki was in front of him Nowaki pulled him down so he was sitting on his lap. While Misaki began to stutter, probably to tell him off for putting them in such an indecent position, he leaned down to whisper into his ear, "Thank you."

Misaki trembled at the low voice. He could feel the hairs on the back of his neck rise. "Why thank you?"

Nowaki stroked his hand up and down Misaki's arm, feeling slight goosebumps underneath his fingers, "I appreciate you understanding me. Hiro-san would and I would usually get into heated arguments until the issue, no matter big or small, was solved. I liked that we got things cleared right away, but doing that for everything made it unpleasant. I know I should have told you and I'm sorry you had to find out tonight, but I am also not ready to fully come out with my story. I want to hear from Hiro-san. I want to know exactly why he cheated on me… what had I done wrong to make him unhappy? Was there something I could have done better? Was the other man just a better person? I know it's selfish to be thinking these thoughts while being in a relationship with you, but you've been so sweet. I will never go back to Hiro-san, but knowing you are willing to wait for me to be mentally ready to move on to the next stage of our relationship...it just makes me so happy."

Misaki smiled and buried his face into Nowaki's chest. He wrapped his arms tightly around his body, squeezing him hard. Nowaki, though at first surprised, chuckled at the cute act. He returned the hug with as much warmth and happiness as Misaki. Their moment, however, was ruined by an obnoxiously happy knock and voice.

"Misaaaaaaaki! It's your nii-san!"
