Regulus spun around as jets of light flew past him. His heart pounding as he looked for a way out. He ducked down behind a brick wall and struggled to take in a breath.

All around him, his fellow Death Eaters and the Aurors threw curses and spells at each other. Some lay on the ground. He looked frantically around for James, who he had seen join the fight but disappeared in the crowd.

"Where the hell are you Potter?" Regulus whispered to himself. He stood up, careful to keep his head low he began to move through the battle. He was barely able to dodge one of the giants who wielding

a rather large ax as it ran along swinging it wildly at anything that moved.

"Come on Potter, anything happens to you, Sirius is going to kill me. He'd be right to, the things I've done." Regulus felt a hand grab him from behind and gasped.

"Relax, just me. Let's get you out of here before we've been spotted. James said pulling him along.

"Shouldn't have to be sneaking me out like this, no one should. I got myself into this mess-"

"Count yourself lucky to have someone who is willing to go such a distance for you. I can tell you that blood does not always mean that the person will do anything for you. As you well know of course from yours. Eh, no offense." Regulus rolled his eyes but knew it was true.

No one else in his family would have extended such an offer.

"He shouldn't have to worry about me, I'm an adult now and should be able to take care of myself, handle my own consequences, that sort of thing."

"We can't all be like Sirius Reg, some of us handle things a little better than others, that's just life and- watch your head!" James said forcing Regulus down to avoid the stream of green light that zipped passed.

"Thank you." Regulus panted getting back up.

"Think nothing of it. Sirius is waiting for you, I'll cover you, head for a hidden spot and follow the same instructions as before. He's still in his room but Remus will be there to let you in. If all goes well, I will join you all sometime today but looks like I'll be here awhile. James and Regulus ducked once more and James shot a stunning spell at one of the larger Death Eaters while shielding Regulus from sight.

"Get going now, while you've got the chance." Regulus rushed off but hadn't gone far when he found himself the target of one of the giants. Having nowhere else to run Regulus turned around to James who was having troubles of his own and knew he could not be saved He stared in horror as the ax was swung directly at his head. He braced himself for death.

"What the hell do you think you're doing, normally you move when a weapon is coming at you!" Once again Regulus felt someone pulling him. He looked back at the giant who stood motionless, ax still in hand, frozen. It was not James' voice that now shouted at him.

"What are you doing here, you swore you would stay away." Regulus hissed angrily at Sirius.

"That was before you decided to-" The sound of an explosion cut him off. Moments later the brothers found themselves racing through the fight once more. They had almost made it to a safe spot to apparate when Sirius realized they had been seen.

"Reg, I'm sorry." Sirius said grabbing by the back of his robes and pointing his wand at his head.

"Si-Sirius what are you doing I-" Regulus panicked, it wasn't like his brother to act that way. Especially after all they had been through.

"Shut it. No use resisting. You've never been able to beat me. Now move it, I suggest you exercise your right to remain silent for the time being."

"Sirius, I thought you'd never show. After our last little get together." She teased.

"Never miss a chance for a family fun Bella. You should know that by now." Sirius remarked casually then turned back to his brother.

"I want you back at the house. I'm going to deal with her and then I'll be there. Don't say a word as soon as my attention id on her you go as you can and you don't stop until you get there." Sirius turned to face Bellatrix.

"well then, let's get the party started shall we?" Bella raised her wand. Regulus looked on as the spells shot toward their targets. He got up and ran as fast as he could, he disappeared down a darkened side street and stopped to catch his breath before apparating.

"Best you've got Cousin?" Sirius teased as the spell missed him.

"Just getting stated. You're mother was right you know, you are unfit to call yourself part of our family. Why couldn't you just be they way you were supposed to be, you had to be different and disgrace us!" Bella shouted angrily.

"You and I have contrasting opinions on what is a disgrace, that much has always been clear to me. I will not follow the path of a bunch of barking mad snakes. Slither back into your hole where you belong Bella." Sirius shot back.

"You will pay for your actions against us Sirius, You dare to insult the noble house of-"

"Noble, you obviously don't know the meaning of the word. I don't call anything you do noble. Murdering people because of 'blood status' it's sickening, you want to talk about shame and nobility. I'd say that goes under the category of shame, following and supporting a maniac like your 'master' Hanging on every word he says, unable to -"

"Enough talk, this ends now. AVADA CA-" Bella never finished the spell. She fell to the ground stunned. Sirius stared at the spot where Bella stood a moment before but saw nothing. Sirius was puzzled but hadn't much time to grasp the situation when he felt himself being pulled by an invisible hand away from the scene.

"What the hell is-"

"Sirius, what are you doing, what have you done to Remus?" The voice came from beside him as James ran up to him. Sirius' eyes widened.

"If you're there, then, who the hell is this?" There was no answer. A second later James too felt something grab him as the scene faded and they found themselves back in front of Sirius' house.

Sirius began to feel dizzy and nearly collapsed as they entered the house. He was taken to his room where Remus stood waiting.

"What were you thinking Sirius, you could have been killed. I leave the room for one moment and you're gone. What-"

It suddenly became clear to everyone what had happened as Regulus threw off James' invisibility cloak and tossed it onto a nearby chair.

"Should have known it was you Reg." Sirius said simply.
