Rest in Peace, Cory Monteith. You shall forever be in my heart, and the hearts of fans, friends, family and poor Lea. I can't rhyme to save my life, but I want to do something in recognition for Cory.
Disclaimer: I don't own the song, 'Don't stop believing' by Journey/Glee cast. I've put it there below my failed poem in Cory's memory.
A beloved character
Part of the cast
A fiancé to Lea Michele
Now a part of the past
Once, she planned to wear white
Now she's in all black
He slipped from her
Into drugs' addictive grasp
She will kiss his gravestone
Rather than his face
Walk to the tune of mourning
Instead of a wedding march pace
Perhaps she will grow old
The cast and fans may move on
But no one can ever forget
The way he lit up during song
Time will go on without him
But Cory will still be there
He didn't truly die
But took the midnight train, going anywhere...
*To make up for the bad poetry, 'Don't stop believing' lyrics*
Just a small town girl
Livin' in a lonely world
She took the midnight train goin' anywhere
Just a city boy
Born and raised in South Detroit
He took the midnight train goin' anywhere
A singer in a smokey room
The smell of wine and cheap perfume
For a smile they can share the night
It goes on and on and on and on
Strangers waiting
Up and down the boulevard
Their shadows searchin' in the night
Streetlight, people
Livin' just to find emotion
Hidin' somewhere in the night
Workin' hard to get my fill
Everybody wants a thrill
Payin' anythin' to roll the dice
Just one more time
Some will win, some will lose
Some are born to sing the blues
And now the movie never ends
It goes on and on and on and on
Strangers waiting
Up and down the boulevard
Their shadows searchin' in the night
Streetlight, people
Livin' just to find emotion
Hidin' somewhere in the night
Don't stop believin'
Hold on to that feelin'
Streetlight, people
Don't stop believin'
Hold on to that feelin'
Streetlight, people
Don't stop.
The world will miss you, Cory. Rest in Peace.
