Hi, I'm back. As usual, not officially, but yeah I'm back. This chapter is short, it's the shortest actually because it's quite late now and I'm lazy to think of names for the pirate. I have everything else planned out properly though.
Anyway, previously, some fluff about Zoro training in the sea and Perona was there and so on.
Thanks for reading, remember to review and enjoy! ^^
Disclaimer: No.
Chapter 25 – Their First Time Going On a Holiday
"This man," A bounty poster of a man was placed in the middle of the dining table. The two youngsters straightened their back to get a clear view of the wanted man.
Due to the previous breakthrough of the Impel Down, many pirates managed to escape and have started to roam the sea freely again. The marines have tried to use all the power that they have to gather information regarding the hundred over pirates that escaped.
While the wanted posters of those unremarkable pirates were plastered around towns, the mission to capture the other escaped pirates that were more destructive and infamous were passed onto the hands of the Shichibukai. This is not only to keep the public from panicking, but also to protect the dignity of the Marines as well as to hide the seriousness of the unsightly news that Impel Down have been broken through.
Mihawk who went to the Shichibukai meeting earlier, had been given a stack of bounty posters and was tasked to co-operate with the Marines to restore law and order in the Grandline.
"According to the marines, he is quite a handful opponent, and will prove to be a suitable opponent for you right now," Mihawk continued as he placed an eternal log pose on the table.
"He got a bounty even higher than Zoro!" Perona gasped, her hands pulling the bounty poster towards her, "200 million beri!"
"Ghost girl, go with Zoro. You can keep the money for yourself," Mihawk glanced at the two youngsters before he leave the room to sought solitude in his own study room.
Zoro grabbed the eternal log pose that was left on the table. He grumbled inwardly at the thought of having that little girl following him around.
"It's fine if you just stay here, you're just going to waste my time if you come along."
"Excuse me for reminding you your impossible sense of direction. You will probably never ever going to make it there yourself. By the way, I am charging 150 million beri to be your navigator," Perona argued as she snatched the log pose from his hand and fly back towards the staircase. "Get ready! We're leaving in an hour!"
Zoro's eyes followed her flying figure as he wondered why he was feeling slightly happy that she is coming along.
He gave up on that impossible question as he groaned.
"Damn, are all navigators money suckers?"
The Sun shone brightly on the ocean, as it seemed to be gleaming a luminous blue. It was just like the name of their destination – Taiyo Island.
"It feels like we're going on a holiday isn't it?" Perona beamed, her eyes fixated on her sketchbook where she plan all the designs for her soft toys and dresses.
Zoro, on the other hand, was enjoying his nap. He gave a curt nod with his eyes closed as he continues to enjoy the sea breeze and the tranquil sound of the waves crashing against the sea.
Mihawk had given them this ship to do their shopping as well as any upcoming missions. Perona named it Perona No. 3 the second she saw it. It was a ship slightly smaller than Merry-go, but have everything that was needed, a bedroom, a bathroom, and a kitchen.
The only bedroom does not prove to be a problem since there will always be one person on a lookout on the deck, which mostly, is Zoro.
"Taiyo Island. It sounds like a bright and sunny place, though I very much prefer dark and gloomy places, but anything is better than a Winter Island for now," She chanted again, her mood was evidently on the rise.
"Mm," He mumbled his reply again, though somewhere deep in his mind, he was wondering why this ghost princess was being so exceptionally cheerful.
"Can you at least give me a decent reply? Oh, and by the way, we will drop off at Kawarime Island on the way back to shop for some supplies," She started humming a melody as she continued to scribble notes on her sketchbook.
"We can just buy the supplies at this Island," He yawned, looking over the horizon and closed his eyes again when there was no land in sight.
"I wanted to buy cloth!"
"They will have it in that…"
"From Kaori-chan!"
"…" Zoro mumbled inaudible words under his breath as he slowly falls asleep again. He should not waste his precious energy on this ghost princess.
It took them almost one and a half day to reach Taiyo Island. It was just past noon and the weather was fine, reflecting the name of the Island, Taiyo.
"So… Where is that dude?" Zoro anchored the ship and jumped down to join Perona, who is already eagerly looking for things that may catch her attention.
"Who knows? Let's go shop around the town first! We might be able to gather some information. Horo horo horo," Perona smiled and started dragging Zoro along, towards the market place.
Taiyo Island was an Island full of brightness. Just like the name of the island suggest, wood carved designs of Sun can be found all around the town, decorating the shop houses that aligned the streets.
There were also street vendors around, shouting and approaching customers. Perona skipped around like a little child with her umbrella opened, cute little merchandises attracted her as she fawned over them as she examined them with her hands. Once a while turning back to check where did Zoro went off, and sometimes chasing after him as he sauntered past without giving a care.
"Oi, we didn't come here to shop, we came here to look for that pirate," Zoro reminded her as she continued looking around curiously.
"Don't worry that much, I will help you to ask about his whereabouts in the next restaurant," A smile played over her infantile features as she continues to run around like a little child.
Zoro continued to walk behind her with his arm crossed. Perona hardly got the chance to travel around, and there is still time after all, right?
Perona stopped at a vendor, which had the wood carved decorations covered in glitters. She gasped slightly as she fawned over all the pretty little bottles that contains glitters that she could use for all her craft works. Bottles of all shapes and sizes were laid out on the table, each of them containing different glitters.
Perona reached out for a bear-shaped bottle, tilting it slightly to see the pink glitters moving in it as she used her fingers to go over the features of the bear. Zoro took a glanced at the bottle Perona was holding and grimaced at all the girly things that attract the Ghost Princess.
He looked away as he closed his eyes slightly, trying to use his Observation Haki to detect the pirate, after all, the pirate he is going to hunt down will stand out more.
He opened his eyes again, his eyebrow furrowed slightly, there are too much people here, he was not able to use his Haki that efficiently yet. He closed his eyes again, and opened.
He smelt something, something intriguing.
Perona handed over the beri to the seller as she turned around slowly. Her eyes still fixated on the bear shaped bottle.
"Zoro, let's go. We can go to the restaurant now," She sauntered down the road slowly, her fingers still playing with the bottle, occasionally tilting them around to look at the pretty glitters moving around in the bottle.
"Look at this pretty bear! It's so pretty especially with the pink glitters inside!" She held it high up in the air as the sunlight reflects against the glass bottle. Perona jumped slightly at how pretty her new toy was as she jumped around to show Zoro.
"Eh?"
Perona froze.
"Where… is he?"
As you can see, I'm trying to stall time here. It's the shortest.
