Don't own Daemon, Katy Dee or the others. Maybe Cara. Idk.
You looked at them enviously.
You couldn't help but to stare at this ecstatic couple.
It felt like a thousand knives pinned you to the wall at once.
Making out in the hallway like no one in the world could care.
No one did... but you.
You felt your cheeks going hot but you couldn't leave.
They couldn't see you, they were so lost in each other.
Just for one moment, you thought he saw you.
Those emerald-green eyes... just looked for a second.
You pretended to pass by while they continued their session.
Your friend Cara passed by and realized the awkward situation you were in, and jumped beside you.
She knew all about the break up, it was the biggest news in the school since.. well forever.
You guys started walking with each other, a mutual understanding of the couple entranced with each other.
"How's it been?" She asked, with a tone of worry in her voice.
"How do you think it's been?" You asked dryly.
"I just can't believe that you guys broke up." She stated, knowing how you felt.
"Yeah, breaking up is one thing. With Ash though. That's a different story."
You and Dameon had broken up only 3 weeks ago and less than a week later, he started dating Ash again. He seemed to be so quiet and you didn't even think he cared about the breakup.
You however, took your anger out on studying. You lately, had excelled in all your classes while you used to be a quiet and average student. You had to take your mind off of Daemon, and paying attention in class and not having to worry about your grades made you feel a lot better. Your teachers noticed this boost in your grades and you were soon becoming a favorite. Your participation increased as your loneliness increased.
You and Cara walked outside of the building to visit the coffee shop nearby.
You really had to take advantage of this to take your mind of Dameon. That was the closest you'd been to him, since the breakup.
It all flashed back into your mind.
"Dameon, I'm sorry!" You cried out.
"I'm tired of you being just sorry. I'm tired of how you complain of every aspect of me. I hate how you hate me one moment and you love me the next. I can't take your moodiness. I know I'm moody, but Jeez Katy. You get really annoying."
His words stung. All your friends eventually got bored with you and now your boyfriend.
Tears grew in your eyes but you wouldn't let them fall. You had to control yourself. You couldn't cry to him now.
You eventually reached the coffee shop after discussing the homework.
You ordered the usual, Vanilla Chai Tea with a bit of honey. The guy usually on that shift, had a bit of a crush on you so he would do it himself.
It was quiet and orderly, never too many people.
You and Cara brought out your homework and started talking about it.
Being able to explain everything really brought up your self-esteem and you felt smart again.
It started raining. You could never explain why, but even when you were little you adored the rain.
You loved the calmness.
As you and Cara talked up about The War of 1812, you noticed a car.
A car too familiar.
Daemon's.
The new couple ran inside while Ash pretended to fall on Daemon.
She looked at you exactly when she did it.
Daemon laughed, his white teeth sparkling.
It looked like a genuine smile.
Well of course dummy, why else would he date her. You scolded yourself.
It smiled once he reached eyes with you.
You went back to Cara and looked away.
You could hear Daemon's voice he ordered his own usual.
Caramel macchiato.
Ashley ordered the same, giggling.
As they waited, they reserved their own couch.
You were refocusing your priorities and you remembered your education as number one. You couldn't let this irrelevant girl distract you.
You had new priorities now.
She walked over with her new boyfriend, probably to show off.
"Hey, did you guys get problem 14 on Litz's homework?" She asked, always laughing and smiling.
Of course you did, you know you're smarter than me, you thought.
Daemon stood solemnly, his eyes never taking themselves off you.
You looked up and looked at her dead in the eye.
You handed her your homework and she responded with thanks.
Her voice reached new levels of high. Her laugh echoed in the room. She jumped on Daemon slightly.
She whispered something in her ear.
He nodded.
"Ash and Daemon!" Your secret admirer, the waiter called out.
She didn't skip this time, she walked dully.
She looked disappointed.
What could Daemon nod at that would disappoint her?
I mean a nod means yes.
You were so confused.
She came back, she acted like the cups were hot but you knew they didn't affect her in the slightest.
She returned your paper in between her fingers and her and Daemon went back to the sofa.
"Glad that's over." You whispered.
But you knew they could hear you.
They would always know.
-Fast Forward 3 Months-
You still got the same feeling when you saw them together.
He looked more quiet when he was with her, but he never noticed you.
Well of course he always knew where you were. You knew he would never leave you alone, I mean he basically got you on Alien's Most Wanted. But you knew he didn't care as much and you thought that in a while he wouldn't care if you were dead or alive. Maybe even wish for you to be dead, so he wouldn't have to worry about you anymore.
You wanted to start over. Last night, you had no homework. So you thoroughly cleaned out all the pictures, memories, and letters.
You replaced your backpack and your binders filled with I love you written on random bits of papers.
You replaced the notebooks with doodles.
You wanted to get rid of him.
If you tried, you could still smell him. He always smelled nice. It was a pure gift of being an alien.
Stop, Katy, don't think of him you thought.
You were sitting in your room on the bed, going through the last pictures on your phone.
You listened to instrumental music, so you weren't reminded of him by lingering lyrics.
You wiped the tear as you deleted the last photo.
You ultimately decided to get dinner. You were ready to just go eat sushi by yourself on a Friday night when there was a knock on your door.
The most likely people were Ashley, Dee, or a criminal.
You couldn't even think of Daemon because really? Would he even attempt to approach you?
And look who it was, it was Dee.
She looked bubbly, like always but she knew that you were getting a montage of memories.
"Look, I'm sorry that my brother's a complete.. you know."
You took a deep breath.
"He always has been, I'm not surprised."
"Katy trust me, he's not over you."
"That explains a lot." You had to spit out the sarcasm. He really did act like he didn't know you anymore. Even when you asked him to pick up your pencil that fell on the floor.
"He doesn't know what he's doing."
"He always does, you and him."
"You don't know... he's always-"
You cut her off.
"Of course I never know anything! Everything's one big damn secret and I'm the one it's about!"
She looked down at her feet.
"I'm sorry for coming here."
She went away.
You never meant to hurt her feelings, but you had to be alone. She just unknowingly triggered everything. All the pain you kept up, it all exploded.
You quickly locked the door and went to the car.
You still wanted to eat sushi and that was exactly where you were heading when...
"What the hell!" You screamed.
Daemon suddenly, out of freaking nowhere popped up right in front of your car as you prepared yourself to drive off into the distance, for your sushi.
The look he gave you made you open the car door.
"No, I drive." He said.
"You can't just invite yourself in and expect to drive."
The look he gave you was deathly and you moved to the passenger seat.
"I always liked giving that look. You're so gullible. I don't care about driving."
"Can I have the wheel back then?"
"Of course not." He scoffed.
He drove and drove until he finally said
"I miss you. I know you miss me."
"These aren't the kinds of things you say when you're dating someone y'know." You said.
"I broke up with her like 2 weeks ago or something like that. She just doesn't want to leave my ass." He said plainly.
"Why don't you tell her to go away?" This was such an expected thing to do of course, knowing him. It was still of course, weird
"I get lonely."
"If you're so lonely, why don't you go to her house?"
"What're you? A prosecutor? Didn't you guess? She's insane!"
"Oh so now you're going to talk to me like nothing happened."
"You know you like it. You know you got jealous."
Your eyes narrowed.
"No, the real reason I am here was because I could feel your pain. I could hear how loud you were breathing."
Is that an insult? You thought. You were about to kick him out into the road.
"I'm kidding Kat calm down." He said, reading your mind.
"Okay, I'm going to admit this and you're not going to tell anyone and you're not going to remember this. I will never stop loving you. Ever. Nothing could ever get me to. You could murder half of America dammit and I would still think you're the most innocent and beautiful human be- I mean..person I've ever met." He said with such honesty, you couldn't even think for a second if he was lying or messing with your feelings.
You looked at him, still focused on his driving. He just pretended to so he wouldn't have to make eye contact.
"Seeing you at the coffee shop, with that pathetic dude falling over you. I couldn't. And when Ash whispered in my ear.. she said she loved me. I know you saw me nod. She was mad pissed at me because all I did was nod. I couldn't say it back. That's what I mean."
You couldn't believe he was saying this, was this a dream?
" I still love you."
He looked at you.
"You're quiet today." He commented.
"I'm sorry. Are we still eating sushi?" Suddenly remembering.
"Of course." He chuckled. "Someone has their priorities straight."
"Stop the car." You said quickly.
He stopped right there, on the edge of a road near a forest.
"Aw, you're getting creeped out by the ghosts aren't you?" He said.
"So, are you going to ask me out again?"
"Oh, I almost forgot. My dearest Kat, the love of my life. You will hear these words one day when I decide to propose, but alas we are in high school and those days are far from now. Will you take me back?" He gave you puppy eyes and pretend to pout.
You kissed him to respond.
"Of course."
You both ended up eating sushi until you too full to even walk and left laughing. You both acted like nothing ever happened, that you never broke up in the first time.
He knocked himself into you as you exited the restaurant "Teachers going to think you're going to go back down again."
"I won't, but even they did, I wouldn't care." You kissed him full on the lops.
And that night, you slept in his arms once more.
Forever intertwined.
You know that chapter was long. You best be proud of me, I suddenly got that idea from reading other fanfiction but it's not even slightly based off of that. Please review at how you liked the second person. I always liked second person but I thought it was quite dull in this story. Obviously I wouldn't be able to get many emotions without it though so it has it's pros and cons. Hope you liked this story and thanks for reading. Review, favorite, follow, whatever you'd like. (I'd love all 3 hehe)
