Caitlyn ran into Brown's office. He was causally sitting behind his desk looking at some paperwork. The big bang from the door startled him. He jumped from his chair to see Caitlyn standing there. Caitlyn smiled towards Brown and said,
"I need your help!"
"What's wrong Caitlyn?" Brown asked concerned. "I heard about Shane's and Tess's break up. Is everyone alright?"
"Yeah everyone's alright. Well everyone but Tess. But that's beside the point." Caitlyn said quickly.
Brown looked at Caitlyn confused. She had this look in her eye that was mischievous. Brown grinned as Caitlyn told him her plan for Mitchie and Shane. Brown was too eager to help. He got everyone that need to help into his office quickly.
Everyone looked at Caitlyn confused. Of the people that got called to his office was Connie, Nate, Jason, Dee Dee, Ella, Peggy, Barran, Sander and a few other campers. Caitlyn then told them the plan and they were all excited to help.
Mitchie was by the lake with Shane talking about the past. She told him about how he came to camp with an attitude problem but not as bad as the one she has now. She told him that the main reason for the attitude was because he was rebelling against his agent for changing the image of the band. They got interrupted by the loud speaker saying,
"Mitchie Torres please came to Brown's office now."
Mitchie said her good byes to Shane and left. She walked into the office and saw Caitlyn and Brown standing there. She was a bit confused until Caitlyn spoke up,
"Mitchie I need you to do me a favor."
"Sure what is it?" Mitchie asked.
"Well poppet. We are doing a jam tonight but this jam is going to be different. We want you to sing a certain song tonight. But you can't sing it until the very end. That is all I'm telling you. Caitlyn will tell you the song soon." Brown explained.
Meanwhile at the lake, Shane was just sitting there trying to remember all the things Mitchie told him. He could not believe that this was not the first time he was there for an attitude problem. Shane really wanted to turn around his image and change. He wanted to be the good guy everyone remembered. He also wanted to remember this voice he heard in his dreams last night. He had told Nate about it and Nate just shrugged it off like it was no big thing.
Shane saw Nate and Jason walking toward him. Nate came up to him and said,
"We are judging the jam tonight."
Later that night everyone in the camp was getting ready. Brown had announced about the past looking forward jam earlier that day. He put up the list of people singing. Mitch was not allowed to see the list. Caitlyn made sure of it.
That night Mitchie was back stage watching her friends sing and dance. First up were Sander and Barran with the Ha LA vista Crew. The song they sand was Hasta La Vista. Then Tess sang her song 2 Stars without any distractions like last time. Mitchie know what was going on after Tess sang.
"We are reacting my first Final Jam." Mitchie said looking at Caitlyn.
Caitlyn smiled without saying a word. She just looked out from the back stage at the judges. Shane thought all of this was too familiar. He leaned over to Nate and whispered,
"This is all so familiar. Has any of this happened before?"
Nate just shrugged it off and did not answer Shane's question. Brown came on stage and said,
"Well that is everyone," Then on cue Dee Dee scurried out with a piece of paper. Brown took the piece of paper and said,
"What do we have here? A last minute entry. Let's put our hands together for Margaret Dupree."
Peggy went out playing her song. Mitchie always loved that song. It was one of her favorites.
They tell you a good girl is quiet and that you should never ask why
'Cause it only makes it harder to fit in
You should be happy, excited even if you're just invited
'Cause the winners need someone to clap for them
It's so hard just waiting in a line that never moves
It's time you started making your own rules
You gotta scream until there's nothin' left with your last breath
Say here I am, here I am, make 'em listen
'Cause there's no way you'll be ignored not anymore
So here I am, here I am, here I am, here I am
You only get one life to work it so who cares if it's not perfect
"Alright, this is ridicules! Are you seriously recreating all of this?" Mitchie asked.
No one said a word. They all thought Mitchie was going to yell at them until Mitchie said,
"This is really sweet of you guys. You did all of this just to help Shane remember."
"Of course Mitchie. We just want the both of you happy and you are happy with each other. We would do anything for our two best friends." Caitlyn said,
Peggy came back after the crowd went wild for her song. They were all cheering. Brown came back onto the stage and said,
"Wasn't that amazing? Alright settle down, settle down." Brown was trying to settle down the crowd to talk. "I said settle down sunshine." Brown said with a giggle and smirk. "Well that is the end of the past looking forward jam. I'm going to let our judges go judge."
Then they heard a noise and everyone looked around. Brown looked to the side and said that he will be right back. Brown came to the back and Caitlyn looked toward Mitchie and said,
"Well it's the end and you are going to be singing if you have not figured it out by now, This is me."
"Now go rock it poppet." Brown said before leaving to go stand by Connect Three.
Mitchie took the mic form Caitlyn's hands and started to walk out on stage. Caitlyn got her laptop all set up and started to play the music. Mitchie had never felt this nervous before. It was probably because this was the first time she sang with Shane and it had been very impacting for both of their lives. It was the moment where Shane found his mystery girl and Mitchie singing in front of a big group of people.
(Itallic is Mitchie, Bold is Shane, and regular is both)
I've always been the kind of girl
That hid my face
So afraid to tell the world
What I've got to say Shane turned around and looked straight at Mitchie. That was the voice from his dreams, the same song that he heard too. That was no dream he had last night it was a memory of Mitchie and him. Shane grabbed the mic from his uncle's hands and waited for his cue.
But I have this dream This is real, this is me Do you know what it's like This is real, This is me
Right inside of me
I'm gonna let it show, it's time
To let you know
To let you know
I'm exactly where I'm supposed to be, now
Gonna let the light, shine on me
Now I've found cause who I am
There's no way to hold it in
No more hiding who I want to be
This is me
To feel so in the dark
To dream about a life
Where you're the shining star
Even though it seems
Like it's too far away
I have to believe in myself
It's the only way
I'm exactly where I'm supposed to be, now
Gonna let the light, shine on me
Now I've found cause, who I am
There's no way to hold it in
No more hiding who I want to be
This is me
Mitchie ended her part of the song. This was where Shane would sing but she was not sure he would remember until she heard a voice singing. Mitchie looked up and saw Shane with a mic in his hand singing his part. Mitchie smile grew wider. She knew that the old Shane was back and he remembered.
You're the voice I hear inside my head You're the missing piece I need
The reason that I'm singing
I need to find you
I gotta find you
The song inside of me
I need to find you
I gotta find you
This is real, this is me
I'm exactly where I'm supposed to be, now
Gonna let the light, shine on me
Now I've found cause who I am
There's no way to hold it in
No more hiding who I want to be
This is me
This is me... This is me...
You're the missing piece I need You're the voice I hear
The song inside of me
Inside my head
The reason that I'm singing
There's no way to hold it in
No more hiding who I want to be
This is me
Everyone was on their feet cheering. Mitchie smiled at Shane and he was grinning at her. Mitchie went back stage and Caitlyn and everyone hugged her. Caitlyn then asked,
"Do you think he remembered?"
Mitchie just nodded. She knew that Shane was back and that he remembered everything. They all focused their attention back to the stage to hear who the winner was. Brown took the piece of paper from Dee Dee and said,
"Just like the past this winner is easy to say. Let's give a round of applause for Margaret Dupree!"
Peggy came out to accept her trophy and grinned at Brown. Shane took the mic and said,
"Congratulation Peggy. You did great job just like the first time you sang it."
Shane smiled toward the back and gave Mitchie a wink. She just blushed at that. Mitchie had missed Shane so much and now knowing that he remembers was even better. Everyone was heading to the bonfire. Mitchie waited back for Shane. He came around the corner and said,
"Would you like to go for a canoe ride?"
Mitchie grinned and said,
"Of course I would good sir."
They headed off to the canoes. Everyone else was at the camp fire. Nate was sitting by Jason. Jason realized that they were missing two people. He looked up and said,
"Where are Shane and Mitchie?"
Everyone looked around to see where they are. Caitlyn looked straight out into the lake and saw them. She smiled and said,
"They are floating around."
Everyone looked at where she was looking at and saw them in the canoe. Brown then told everyone to give them some privacy.
Shane and Mitchie floated in the middle of the lake for hours. Mitchie felt comfy in Shane's arms. He held her there, wishing that this moment would never end. For them that moment would never end now that they were back together.
