It's not like she can't see it, the way he looks at Scott, the appreciative glances and longing gazes from afar that suggest more than just brotherly love (she knows because she recognizes the looks as the same ones she used to give and still sometimes gives), and it's not like she's jealous of that (not that much anyway), it's mostly that she wants all those things too, but she wants them from him and him.
And although she's been an only child her entire life, she's never had a problem with sharing. She'd share Scott with Isaac, just as long as she got a piece of both of them.
When did it start, is the big million dollar question, the one that she's spent hours lying awake in her bed trying to piece an answer together for. When did she start to notice bronze curls and defined bone structure and long legs (not instead of, but in addition) to dark, musky hair, chocolate pools for eyes, a short, muscular, yet familiar, build? When did she start including another set of legs to entangle with her own in the erotic daydreams that uninvitingly invaded her mind during English class?
And then the encounter in detention, the chemistry she'd felt in the storage room, exchanging banter with him, and the undeniable rush she got from messing with the twins, she was getting greetings from feelings that hadn't visited her since the breakup with Scott.
And if she's looking at him (and Scott), and he's looking at Scott (and possibly her), and Scott's looking at her (and Isaac, obviously), then the only thing standing in her way between satisfying her deep lust and need for companionship is the taboo barrier of entering into an relationship with multiple partners.
But she's fought bigger battles and climbed taller things, and this time all she has to do is give this rickety excuse of a wall the little push it needs.
