It's Cas' first night with his friends since the Fall. It had taken time to find one another, and when they did, he and Dean had been inseparable. Now, it was time for everyone to sleep. Team Free Will was exhausted. Everyone has their separate room, except Dean and Cas. Cas says he hates sleeping; it makes him feel weak and exposed. What he doesn't mention is the nightmares he had those nights while searching for Dean. But his face looks terrified enough that Dean offers for Cas to sleep in his room.

That first night, Cas snuggles against Dean's back, and the hunter chooses not to remind him about personal space. He's too happy to have Cas back, and he doesn't want to complain. They fall asleep listening to one another breathe.

Dean wakes up in the middle of the night, finding himself turned around and facing Castiel. The ex-angel is fast asleep, looking more at peace than he ever has. Dean feels something on his chest, and when he glances down, he finds one of Cas' hands barely touching him. Dean inches closer to Cas, and rests his head on top of Cas' dark hair. Subconsciously, his friend nestles into the crook of Dean's neck, and Dean tries not to giggle as Cas' hot breath tickles his neck. The hunter closes his eyes, and puts his arm around the fallen angel, hoping to add more comfort in whatever it was that Cas' was dreaming.
