"Neither do I…" Austin muttered. Ally chuckled a bit.

"I'll try not to take that as an insult." He rolled his eyes.

"Look, maybe… maybe we should start over." He said quietly.

"Start what over?" She said slightly confused. He stared at her as she picked at the hole in her jeans.

"Everything. You and me. Let's just start over. Yeah?" He said hopefully. Ally nervously pulled her hair to the side of her head.

"Um, I don't know… "Her voice was quiet and shaky. Austin took a deep breath and turned to her. He put his hand over hers to stop her constant fidgeting. She stiffened immediately.

"Why not?" He frowned. She sighed.

"I don't think I'm ready. And I don't know if I even want to," She slammed her arms down on the keys in frustration. "Hell, I don't even know what I want! I want to forgive you, I really do. I want to forget this and be best friends again. I want to hear you tell me that I mean the world to you. But I can't!" The moonlight through the slightly taped up windows caught the single tear that ran down her face before she reached up to wipe it away. "I don't know how…" She sniffled.

"Ally look at me," He demanded. She lifted her head slowly and met his eyes. "You and I both know I didn't mean what I said. It was a misunderstanding; if I knew you were there and had heard us I would have begged you for forgiveness then and there. But then you left and I never had a chance," Ally blinked and her eyes shone. She nodded, allowing him to go on. "Ally, I'm begging you now." Austin got off the bench and knelt on his knees in front of her, he looked up into her eyes. "Please don't tell me you hate me. Don't say we can't make this work again. Don't tell me you aren't sorry for breaking my heart." She looked down at the ground in anger, sadness, confusion, and guilt. "Because I'm sorry I broke yours. I'm sorry I made you leave. I'm sorry for saying things I didn't mean. I'm sorry I never told you how I really felt." He stated. He was trying desperately to not let the tears in his eyes fall over the edge, but he couldn't keep it up for long.

"Austin what are you saying?" She said confused as her bright eyes searched his watery eyes. For a few minutes the only sound they heard was their steady breathing and the soft music playing from the bar down the street. Austin stared deeply into her eyes. Ally opened her mouth to speak again but was cut off by his piercing words.

"I'm sorry I never told you that I love you." He whispered.
