Max had no idea where her little speech came from but as much as it seemed to inspire the others, it did nothing to calm her worries.

Instead of driving back to the Elite, they flew considering it would be quicker. They flew in silence, all in deep worry and thought of what may happen to Iggy. What Max was trying to figure out though, was how exactly had these "Rouges" been able to capture Iggy with such ease? She saw him leave her room in the Infirmary skipping happily to get who he referred to as the boss man whom Max assumed to be Elder Jeb. The Elder did show up, but Iggy did not. It truly worried her the more she thought about it.

Suddenly a thought popped into her mind.

What happened to Mom and Ella?

The realization that she had absolutely no idea what had happened to her family made Max momentarily forget to flap her wings and drop a few feet from the sky. She quickly tried to regain altitude and speed so that the rest of the group wouldn't notice that she had fallen even more behind. Which did not work one bit. Fang had decided to turn his head at that exact moment to check on her and noticed Max's struggled flying.

Hey Angel?

Yes Fang?

Is there a way you can send me directions on how to get to the Elite through my mind?

Yes I suppose I could send you a sort of "mental map." Why?

So we can catch up with you guys. Max is sorta spazing...

Okay I suppose that would be okay. Be quick about it.

I promise mommy!

Very funny.

Fang silently thanked Angel for letting him check on Max. They've all been rather quiet but Max, well, she's been too quiet. She was thinking about something. Or more than likely overthinking something.

"Hey Max!"

Hmm? Why is Fang calling me?

"Yeah?"

"Let's land for a sec, you seem like you could use a break," Fang smiled slightly as he slowly started to descend. Max just stared at him, a bit confused.

"But what about the others? We have to get to the Elite and-"

"Don't worry, we'll be fine. I promise."

Max watched as he flew towards the ground. It was late at night, most likely around 2am. The moon was full and the stars were, twinkling beautifully. The night could almost be peaceful had everything not just happened. Max glanced back at Angel, Gasman, and Nudge, then back at Fang almost on the ground. Still worried about the other and yet extremely curious about Fang. She decided to go to Fang, because she might not get another opportunity to see what's on his mind.

When she landed she found him waiting patiently for her.

"What was that? Earlier?" he asked.

"What do you mean?" Max said, almost genuinely confused although she had a feeling he saw her flying freak out.

"Your little spaz attack. What was that about?"

"Oh..." Max turned her head away from him, not wanting to look at his face his eyes whatever! She wasn't exactly sure she wanted to answer that. Her personal life never really seemed to matter to him before so why exactly does he care now of all times?

"Well?"

Max looked back up at his face and found him closer than he was before. Looking closer into his eyes she found, oddly enough, that he was actually concerned about her. She didn't understand it, so she decided that she may as well tell him.

"Its my mom. And my sister. I have no idea where they are. Its the reason why... hang on a second..."

"What is it?"

"Were you there? That night I... that night I almost died? At first I dismissed it as my imagination but now... now I'm thinking that that was actually you there."

Fang actually looked a bit sheepish.

"Yes I was there. Before you freak out let me explain... somehow. I told Angel when she found me there that I felt this sorta pull. Like I needed to be at that exact location at that exact moment or something really awful could happen. That's the only way I could explain what I felt." Fang was pacing by the time he finished his rather small rant.

"As for your mom and sister," he continued, "Angel told me they're fine and that they're at this convention Ella wanted to go to. They for some reason left earlier than they needed to but either way, they are completely safe." Fang looked at Max with a smile, hoping he was able to calm her worries, even slightly.

Max sighed in relief.

"Oh thank god!" she exclaimed. Max then ran up to Fang and hugged him as tight as she could. Though a bit startled, Fang recovered quickly can wrapped his arms around her waist, hugging her back.

The stood still for a few minutes, wrapped in each others embrace. Fang pulled back slightly, and so did Max. Slowly, they started to lean towards each other. Closer and closer still, their faces were merely an inch apart until finally the gap closed as their lips brushed slightly against each other.
