"AHHH!"

And then the cries of a baby were heard.

"It's a boy."

Korra smiled and fell back. Mako grabbed her and tried to wake her. She didn't wake. He looked at Akuma who was cleaning up the baby. Akuma looked back and saw the worry in his eyes.

"She's not breathing."

…...

It had been about three hours since the baby was born. It had been three hours since she fell unconscious. After this happened, Akuma finished cleaning the baby and instructed Mako to move Korra to the back bedroom. Mako lifted Korra up from the table and carried her to the back room. It was lightly dimmed and simple. The room contained only a bed, chair, and a small dresser. It was obvious that this room was meant for visitors. Mako quickly laid her on the bed and covered her up. He then stooped down and placed his ear close to her mouth to see if he could hear her breathe. However he did not. He began to panic and quickly turned around. He was going to go find Akuma and ask him what they needed to do next. However, he stopped in his tracks when he saw the master at the door.

"What do we do? She's not breathing!"

Akuma seemed calm and only stared at the confused young father. Mako noticed this calmness and began to rant even more.

"Why are you so calm! Korra could die! She needs our help! What are we going to do!"

Akuma only chuckled at the young man's words. Mako became very upset and clenched his fists. Akuma noticed this and raised a hand.

"Son... She is already dead."

The words hit Mako like a door. He stopped and let the words soak in. He slowly turned around and saw Korra laying on the bed as he had laid her. He slowly walked closer to the bed and stopped. He slowly lifted his eyes to meet her face. She was pale blue and her eyes were wide open.

"Ahhhhhhhhh!"

Mako screamed and jolted up. He looked around the room and saw that Korra was laying in the bed and Akuma was standing over her. Mako's eyes were wide and full of worry. Akuma had heard him scream and knew he was having nightmares. Without turning around he quickly said, "Son she is fine. She's just breathing kind of faint. That is what led you to believe she wasn't breathing."

"So she is alive?"

Akuma let the words float around in his mind and then thought of a way to tell him the truth. He turned around only to see Mako's eyes wide and his forehead covered in sweat. Akuma lowered his eyes and turned back around.

"Yes... She is alive.."

Akuma didn't bother to worry him anymore. He already had enough to worry about. Mako sighed with relief and wiped his forehead. He sat back in his seat and looked up at the ceiling. Akuma finished with Korra, turned and walked towards Mako.

"Mako, would you like to hold your son?"

Mako looked at Akuma and slightly nodded. Akuma left the room and quickly returned with the baby wrapped up in an animal skin. Mako reached his arms out and accepted the baby. He held it to his chest and bent down to make sure he was breathing. He was not. Mako became worried and sat up and looked at the baby. What he saw frightened him. The baby had no face. Nothing was there. He jumped and dropped the lifeless baby onto the floor. He stood up and ran to the door trying to find Akuma, only to realize that the door had disappeared. It became part of the wall. Mako panicked. He needed the masters help and there was no way he could get to him. Mako stepped back and moved his arms in such a way that lightning began to jolt from his finger tips. He threw bolt after bolt at the wall only to see nothing in return. He walked back up to the wall and noticed it looked untouched. Mako's eyes became even wider with fear.

"What is going on here?"

"Mako..."

He heard that sweet voice and he quickly turned around and walked over to the bed. He made it to her and noticed she was awake and that her eyes seemed to be a brighter shade of blue. He bent down and kissed her forehead and received a smile in return. He smiled. Korra looked around as if she was looking for something and Mako sensed that she was looking for the baby. However, she never spoke. She tried but each time she gasped as if she wasn't getting enough air.

"Korra are you-"

His voice trailed. Korra's eyes faded into a light gray, then faded to blackness. Mako bent down and placed his ear to her mouth. Not a breath was heard. He stepped back from the bed and ran to the wall. He banged on it and tried so hard to get out of the room and find Akuma.

"My wife and baby are dead! My wife and my baby! My wife and my baby are dead! Akuma help me!"

He screamed for what felt like hours, but his words only echoed through the room.

"Mako? Mako? Mako..."

Mako ignored the small voice that seemed to echo throughout his head.

"Mako? Mako?"

Mako stopped and listened.

"Mako?"

The voice seemed to be close to his ear. He turned to his side only to see darkness. He began to turn back around, but stopped when he felt something in his hair and then something on his face.

"What is this? What is happening?"

"Mako!"

The voice was clear. It was her voice. But it couldn't be she was dead... She was dead. The thought ran throughout his mind for a minute, and then his eyes widened once more.

"Korra!"

He sat up and held his pounding head in his hand. Sweat covered his forehead and his heart pounded. He heard a faint cry and turned to his side to see that the baby was being held by her. She was there. Alive. Mako's eyes widened.

"Korra is that really you?"

"Yes baby. It is me."

Mako wanted to hug her, but his body seemed to ache and he couldn't really move. Korra noticed his confusion and laid a hand on his. Mako looked at her.

"Its okay. Take it easy city boy. You need to."

"Korra... What happened?"

"Um...you kinda passed out and fell against the table."

Mako's eyes widened.

"So... you're saying I was asleep? I was dreaming"

"Yea... You've been out for six hours. Akuma got tired of waiting on you to wake up so he went to bed. But I figured you'd wake up and want to see our son."

Mako looked at the baby and noticed he had a face.

I guess I was just dreaming. But it all felt so real.

Mako held out his arms and Korra handed him the baby. Mako took him in his arms and held him close to his chest. He then looked down at him. He had the skin of Korra, but the facial features of Mako, including the eyebrows. The baby then opened his eyes and Mako noticed they were amber, just like his. He smiled.

The rest of the night Mako and Korra adored what they had created. Mako did not talk about his nightmares, and Korra did not ask.

Well there it is. I hope it was good. It probably wasn't because I kinda rushed and did this. I will correct any mistakes later... Please review.
