Lost Without You

A/N: I'm back again! Did you miss me? Or has this story reached the back burner because of infrequent updates? I won't blame you if it has. Just I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoy writing it.

Warning: Everything you know about the Bount has changed, Ishida is not a badass, and an abundance of Oc canon fodder. And eventual changing of the Vizard in upcoming chapters. Though not too much action for the next couple of chapters.

This had to be the longest walk home ever. Ichigo thought to himself. Sure the air was less tense than it had been back at Ishida's, but he could tell that all of them were feeling disheartened from the way they were walking so close together. Orihime no longer needed help walking but was only two inches from his side while Ishida, clearly still in pain, wouldn't allow himself to accept help. Hanataro and Chad were to either side of him as they walked on. Not a word was said after they had figured out a story for staying at Ishida's. He couldn't help being relieved as they reached his street after what felt like two hours instead of the quick twenty minutes it had been. "That's my house there." Ichigo pointed internally grateful he had remembered to call and let his family know he would be bringing guests home. That meant his Father would be on his best behavior and he wouldn't have to worry about dodging any kicks or making sure that everyone else did.

"I'm home." Ichigo called walking through the door only to have Isshin bowl him over to get a look at the lovely lady by his side. Something he wasn't that surprised by as he hadn't told him who would be coming.

"Who is this? Did you bring your girlfriend home to meet Daddy?" Isshin cooed taking Orihime's hand in his own completely ignoring the other guests. He was already accustomed to Chad but the other guest wasn't a pretty girl.

"Like Ichigo would have a girlfriend." Karin snorted from the other room seated on the floor in front of a low table with books strewn in front of her. As she looked up and saw her brother and his friends she smirked hiding her blush when Chad looked over at her seeing that she was studying and gave her an approving look.

"Is it true?" Yuzu scrabbled out of the kitchen wearing an apron covered in some unidentified mess.

"NO!" Ichigo nearly growled already annoyed by his family and their antics. "This is my friend from school Orihime, and this is Ishida, and Chad's here too." He looked over Hanataro and when no one asked he was glad he hadn't introduced him, he wasn't in a body yet. He'd have to stop by the shop soon and get one.

"Oh..." Isshin's smile faltered for a second then he bounced right back waving his son away. "Well why don't you come tell me all about you!" He said pulling her along into the living room with him to try to convince her to date his UN-dateble son as Chad followed them to tutor Karin he assumed. "Well do whatever it is you boys do. I'll keep Orihime company." He didn't pay anymore attention as Yuzu returned to the kitchen pacified with this.

"..." Ishida frowned pushing his glasses up his nose. He was starting to understand why Ichigo might not mind getting away from his house for awhile. Isshin was definitely something else. Looking to Ichigo for guidance he followed the red head as he went up the stairs quietly Hanataro following silently as well.

"Welcome to my room." Ichigo said opening his door with a flourish as he stepped inside waiting for them step inside. Closing the door behind them he offered them a seat on the bed or the desk. "Sorry about my Dad he's..."

"It's fine." Ishida interrupted him watching the look on Hanataro's face. He looked like he had seen a ghost. But a comfortable silence fell for a few minutes as he studied the bare room. He hadn't been to Ichigo's before. And it didn't take a genius to know that Hanataro hadn't either. Though the shinigami was doing his best to remain quiet and unnoticed as no one but Ichigo and his friends could see him.

Ichigo didn't mind the silence as he started shoveling his things into two large duffel bags. It wasn't like he had to worry about too much. He had only been able to come up with a story good enough to cover two weeks maybe three if he could stretch it right. And being on the optimistic side of things he was hoping that's all it would take. At least to get Ishida's powers back. He wasn't going to be too optimistic about it though it was better to think about than what his Dad might be saying to Orihime. "I'm all packed. We should head down there and save Orihime."

"What do you think he's asking her?" Ishida frowned he wasn't used to overly affectionate reasoning of Isshin.

"Probably asking her if she's thought about being my girlfriend and trying to talk her into it." Ichigo shrugged leading them out of his room. "I'm not that worried about it, Orihime can handle herself." He was more concerned that maybe Orihime would actually try to act on the crazy ideas his Dad would try putting in her head. Orihime was a sweet girl, but he wasn't in the market for a girlfriend. Or a date for that matter he reminded himself ignoring the way his eyes had drifted towards Ishida beside him in the hallway.

"If you say so." Ishida shrugged he didn't really understand why someone would try to talk anyone into dating anyone else. If you didn't like them you wouldn't be convinced otherwise. Not that there was any one he had ever really thought of dating now that he thought about it.

"What move is that?" Karin could be heard from the living room her voice in awe as it carried around the corner.

Ichigo didn't hear the answer as he rounded the corner to see Orihime slamming his Dad shoulders first into the floor. It looked like it hurt watching her do that.

"Dinner's ready!" Yuzu called from the other room bringing their Dad up from the floor with her sweet voice.

"Coming!" Isshin called smiling as he invited Orihime to join him.

Ichigo sighed internally if that was the longest walk he was sure this would be the longest and strangest dinner he would have at home. After all he knew his Dad wouldn't be able to stop from having some sort of outburst. He steeled his patience and hoped his friends would understand that Isshin was crazy and that didn't mean he was.
