Chapter 15- NeW ReCrUiT
{Got me looking so crazy right now
Your love's got me looking so crazy right now
Got me looking so crazy right now
Your touch got me looking so crazy right now}
"Coming!" Lucy called out as she rushed to the door, the soft pitter patter of sock clad feet echoing through the quiet house.
At least, it was quiet until someone began to obnoxiously knock her front door.
"Can I help-" Her words were cut short as the person walked into her house as if they owned it.
"Ah, so this is where the darling Lucy lives?" A boy with orange hair said as he looked around the living room.
"Loke!" She cried, "What are you doing here!? And more importantly, how do you know my address?"
"Got it from Gajeel." He shrugged then bent down to pick up the yelping puppy at his feet.
"That just leaves more questions! How does he know my address!?"
Loke sighed and made himself comfortable on the couch, white dog still in his hold. "Well, if you really want to know, I got it from Gajeel who got it from Levy who obviously got it from you." He explained, "And," he continued when he saw her mouth open, no doubt beginning to ask more question, "I came here to help you with your massive crush. I can't bear to witness you pathetically ogling my friend anymore."
"I-I don't have a crush on him!" She barked.
"Really? Because I wouldn't be too shocked if you had a 'Natsu Dragneel Shrine' stashed somewhere in your closet."
The blonde huffed, warily sitting down on the couch opposite of the known playboy. "That's absurd." She wasn't that bad, I mean sure she had thought about it before, but that's beside the point. "And even if I did have a crush on him, WHICH I DON'T, why would you want to help me get with him if he's with Lisanna?"
"Because they're so ugh."
"What's that supposed to mean?"
"They're just always arguing and it's really annoying and, okay, put it this way; if their relationship had a sound, it would be 'ugh', but if you and Natsu had a relationship yours would sound something like 'ah~', you get me?"
"Are you high right now?" She mumbled.
"That doesn't really matter right now."
"Wait you were meant to deny that! You can't actually be-"
"Look," Loke cut her off, "do you want my help or not?"
Lucy snorted. "And what makes you the sudden relationship master?"
He scoffed, "Lucy, come on," he said and vaguely motioned to himself while making many odd sounds, "come on, I mean, pff, come on."
"You may be good at getting girls in your bed, but he's not a girl and I'm looking for more than just sex." She said and narrowed her eyebrows.
"I may not know much about dating guys, but I've been friends with Natsu for who knows how long, I definitely know more about him than you do."
Lucy opened her mouth to say something, but closed her mouth when she realized Loke might be onto something here. That's what Levy and herself had always lacked when it came to getting Natsu; they knew nothing about him. But Loke did, he more than likely knew things even Lisanna didn't know about.
"You know what," Lucy hummed, "you might be onto something here."
Loke smirked and fed Plue a piece of apple. "Of course I am, I am me after all, and I'm never wrong."
"So what's your plan? And stop feeding my dog apple!" She fretted, suddenly worrying about her dogs health. Could dogs eat apples? What if it was like another version of chocolate to them? Then again Plue had eaten a whole chocolate cupcake once and he was still perfectly healthy.
Loke bit into the apple and stared intently at Lucy as she was lost in her own thoughts. "Well," he began, bringing her back to reality, "obviously I'll just make him jealous."
"You say that like it's so simple."
"Isn't it?" He laughed, stopping at her clueless expression. "Gajeel was right, you are ditsy."
"Hey! I'm right here you know! You're in my house for God's sake!"
"Since you really don't know, Natsu sorta-maybe-kinda likes you, so if you and I start hanging out he'll get annoyed and voilà; a jealous Natsu will appear."
Lucy said nothing, the end of the sentence going through one ear and out the other. Her hands were frozen at her mouth and her face flushed a deep crimson. It didn't matter to her that it was a sorta-maybe-kinda like, it was still something! A like stronger than a friends like!
"Pffft." Lucy snorted and twirled a strand of blonde hair around her finger, her body shifted hack and forth in a daze. "Natsu likes me?" She mumbled to herself, biting a plump lip as several fantasies filled her head.
"Yeah I guess." Loke agreed and seeing as she was spaced out, used it as an advantage to sneak Plue another piece of his apple. "Not really romantic for him yet. More like he's really confused because he doesn't understand feelings and he likes you a lot and he's a total dipshit."
"So what do we do about Lisanna?" Lucy snarled, startling Loke at her sudden seriousness. "And I told you to stop feeding Plue apple!"
Loke scoffed and pulled out his phone, "I said I'd help you with Natsu, so you're on your own with that one." He beckoned her over with a lazy hand gesture.
Lucy crinkled her nose and sat beside him, "What do you want?"
"We're gonna make a Snapchat story together, phase one of getting Natsu jealous." He looked at her warily when he noticed her taken back expression. "Please tell me you know what Snapchat is?"
She hit him on the shoulder with more force than necessary and growled out "Of course I know what it is! It's just that Levy's my only friend on it..."
"Well I'll send you everyone's name on it later tonight if you'd like, but for now, take a picture with me." He said and held the phone up, moving his head closer to Lucy's and positioning Plue between them.
"What are you captioning it?" Lucy asked and peered over to look at his phone screen, happy with the picture result.
"I'm just gonna put a heart emoji."
"Ohhhh! Do that one! The one with the bow!" Lucy cooed and pointed to the emoji.
"What? No, I'm just gonna do a green heart or yellow or something."
"That's so boring!" She pouted, "Why won't you do the cute one?"
"One day we can do it on your phone and you can do whatever heart you want."
"But Loke, the green one's stupid."
"It's cool." He retorted, publishing the story.
Lucy hmphed to the side, still not impressed with his choice of emoji. "So what now?" She pondered, watching as the red head got up to throw the apple core in the bin.
He turned to look at her and shrugged. "We could get high together if you want-"
"Go home." She grumbled and rubbed her temples.
.:Monday:.
Lucy walked down the hallway silently by herself, not noticing how other students avoided any chance of meeting her gaze. The morning had been pretty uneventful, she had Math first off, but sadly Natsu was absent and she was left to listen to Loke talk about the pro's and con's of busty girls and flat chested girls.
After possibly the most boring class of her life, she had a spare by herself, which she spent studying in the Library. Maybe one of the almighty God's and Goddess's also had a spare and would allow her to be with them, because she was starting to get sick of reviewing work that she knew she could easily get an A on.
At the sound of the bell ringing, the blonde mumbled a quick 'thank God' and gathered her things, hurriedly pushing them in her school bag. Without thinking much of it, she made her way into the cafeteria to the table where she had Levy had began a routine of sitting these past days, along with the God's and Goddess's that is.
Seeing how the bell had only just rung, she expected to be the first at the table like she always was, so seeing Natsu already sitting while he lazily looked through his phone almost made her trip. Quickly gathering herself and frantically looking around to make sure no one had seen her almost face plant, she nodded contently when she saw no eyes glued to her.
Once she had reached the table, she coughed and sat across from him, effectively drawing his attention away from the bright screen. "You're here early," she mused, "usually I'm the first one here."
At seeing her, a brilliant grin stretched across his face. "I have a spare and I usually hang out with Lisanna, but she's on a vacation with her sister so I was on my own." He explained, not noticing her sudden dark aura at the mention of his girlfriend.
"I have a spare too you know..." She mumbled and avoided his eyes, too shy to look at him. "If you want, we could sort of hang out. I-I mean until Lisanna get's back that is!" She sputtered.
"Alright," He smirked and put his hand out on the middle on the table, "it's a deal?"
"Yup." She agreed and shook his hand, squealing on the inside about how big and warm his palm felt against her own.
"LUCY~" A voice called out behind her, and she glanced over her shoulder to see Loke waving hysterically beside a rather annoyed looking couple.
"Please do something about your man." Gajeel sneered, taking a seat beside Levy who sat beside Lucy.
"Your man?" Natsu repeated, raising a pink brow as he watched Loke eagerly sit beside Lucy, "Are you two a thing now?"
"N-No!" Lucy squealed, waving her arms frantically.
"Not yet anyway." Loke snickered with a wink, ignoring the thud of Lucy hitting her head against the palm of her hand.
"Yeah, did you guys see his Snapchat story on Saturday? I was wondering if they were dating too."
"W-we aren't-"
"Yeah I stayed over her house for the night," Loke blatantly lied and Lucy stared at him with wide eyes, "you know she has the cutest dog, what's his name? Puck? Pook?"
"Plue." Natsu sneered and glared daggers at Loke.
"Oh, you've seen him?" Loke asked and ignored the vicious stare.
"Yeah," Natsu snorted, "we go jogging after school together, right Lucy?"
"I-I, uh," she stuttered, blushing heavily, "y-yeah."
Loke shrugged. "I'd rather stay over her house on the weekend then go jogging."
"You little shit-" Natsu's soon to be rant was cut off when Erza hit his head with enough force to send his face flying towards the table with a hard bang.
"No fighting." She simply said and then resumed eating.
"O-oi Erza... Don't you think that was a little harsh." Gray said and grimaced at Natsu's groans.
"Fuck." He groaned and lifted his head, a hand clasping his nose as blood furiously poured out. "I think you fucking broke my nose."
"Oh shit!" Gajeel guffawed, "I think she actually might have!"
Lucy gasped and ran to his side, pulling at the muscular arm that wasn't glued to his face. "I'll take you to first aid." She fretted and pulled him away from the table.
"I hope they don't do anything scandalous in there." Loke commented as he watched them go.
Gajeel let out a low whistle. "I'd like to see Lisanna's reaction to all this."
"And we won't find out for a long time because you won't be telling her anything, right Gajeel?" Levy glared, giving him no room to refuse.
"Hah, right, of course not." Gajeel agreed with a nervous laugh.
In the sickbay Lucy sat on the side of the bed where a constantly groaning and moaning pink haired boy rested. With her lips pulled into a tight line, she kept a handful of tissues pressed gently to his nose. "Are you sure you're okay?"
He waved a hand at her, "Psh, this is nothing, I'm fine."
"You know this gives me serious déjà vu." She hummed mostly to herself.
A single eye opened to look at her. "And what makes you say that?"
"Well last time I was the one that had a nose bleed, and you were the one that took care of me." She explained before quietly laughing to herself at a sudden realization. "And come to think of it, then and now it was because of Erza."
At her words, Natsu snorted, only to regret it seconds later. "Ow, ow, ow." He muttered to himself.
"I called the hospital," a sudden voice called out, "they should should be here in at least ten minutes. You can leave if you want now girl."
"O-oh," Lucy said and moved to get up, only to stop at a large hand against her thigh.
"Wait!" Natsu said, stopping her in her tracks, "I mean, well, you can stay if you want. Unless you wanna get back to your new boyfriend that is."
The blonde bit the inside of her cheek and playfully hit the side of his head. "He's not my boyfriend!" She protested.
"I don't know," he mused, "Loke seems to think you are."
"W-we're just friends!"
"He's just a friend that stayed over your house on the weekend?"
"It's not that big of a deal," she grumbled, "He just makes a scene over everything. Besides, I'd let you come over if you really wanted to." She said and looked away, her cheeks flushed.
At the sound of chokes and coughing, she quickly looked down to see Natsu apparently having a hard time breathing. "D-don't just say thing's like that weirdo!" He spluttered and shoved her off the bed, tissues flying here and there as high pitched squeak escaped her lips on her way down to the floor.
"Oi!" She barked. "Don't just push me off like that idiot!"
"Well I wouldn't have to if you weren't so weird!"
"What's that supposed to mean!?"
"It means you're weird!"
Insults and meaningless words flew back and forth until Lucy folded her arms and looked at him smugly. "Fine, I'll just go hang out with Loke; He doesn't think I'm weird." She said and began to walk out, only to let out an unflattering sound as she was pulled to sit back on the stiff bed. With arms still crossed over her chest, she refused to look at him. "I thought I was weird, why do you want me here?" She managed to say despite her quivering heart.
"I'd rather you be weird in here than catch some STD with Loke." He grumbled, his hand still clutching the back of her vest from where he had pulled her before.
Lucy huffed and grabbed a handful of fresh tissues and proceeded to press them against his nose, ignoring his pain filled yelp at her added force. "I don't know if I should take that as compliment or not..."
