I see you're all VERY excited about that last chapter. Okay, I can't be professional anymore; LUCIANA'S PREGNANT! OH MY GOD, OH MY GOD, OH MY GOD! *clears throat* Sorry, lost my composure there for a second.
Anyway, hope you enjoy this chapter! XOXO
Disclaimer: All characters involving Thor belong to Marvel, I only own the OC's present in this story.
"Darling heart," Luciana heard Loki's voice say to her, breaking her out of her slumber, and she felt a hand gently shake her shoulder.
"Hmm?"
"It's Thor's coronation today. We have to get up."
Luciana's eyes fluttered open, and she saw Loki staring down at her. He smiled at her and leaned down to press his lips against hers, moving a strand of hair away from her face. She smiled back at him and sat up, her hand absent-mindedly going to her stomach.
She wasn't showing yet, but knew that she would soon, and she couldn't keep from telling Loki for much longer. She still mentally slapped herself for not telling him. He deserves to know, she thought. What's keeping me from doing this? She had tried to narrow it down, and had come up with nervousness being the reason. But she couldn't justify her nervousness, therefore, she couldn't justify keeping her secret from Loki.
"How are you feeling this morning?" Loki asked, placing his hand on her arm.
"I'm alright," She said, running a hand through her hair. "A bit tired, but I'm alright all the same."
"That's good to hear. Now come, darling heart, let's get ready."
It took an hour for the husband and wife had gotten dressed in their royal attire, and Loki smiled when he saw Luciana.
"You look ravishing, darling," He said, admiring Luciana in her dress. He grabbed her waist and pulled her close to him. "I wouldn't be surprised if you stole the entire day from Thor."
She rolled her eyes. "Do you really think Thor would let that happen?"
He chuckled. "Most likely not."
He pressed his lips into a thin line as he pushed a lock of Luciana's hair behind her shoulder. To someone else, Loki would seem perfectly fine, but Luciana knew Loki well enough to think differently. He was mildly nervous about something, though he was, of course, trying to mask it. He was doing a good job of it too, but Luciana knew something was off.
"Loki?" She asked, putting a hand on his chest. "Is everything alright?"
"Of course," He replied, his eyebrows furrowing slightly. "What would make you think otherwise, darling?"
"You just seem...troubled, that's all."
"It's nothing, darling heart. Don't worry yourself, I'm fine."
"Are you certain everything is alright? You can tell me if something is bothering you."
He smiled at her and grabbed her hand from his chest. "Darling heart, it is wonderful to know that I can come to you with whatever troubles me. It is a great blessing to have someone that I can trust with anything. But I assure you, my dear, sweet darling heart, that everything is fine. There is nothing in this world that will ever bother me while I'm with you." He brought her hand to his lips and placed a gentle kiss on it. "Alright?"
She smiled at him, a blush rising to her cheeks. "Alright."
"Good," He said, kissing her cheek. "Now, we best be off. We don't want to be late."
The throne room doors opened and everyone cheered and clapped loudly as Thor came out, clad in his red cape and winged helmet as he waved his hammer around and shouted and cheered along with his future subjects. The Asgardians screams were deafening as Thor basked in his subject's cheering, clearly showing off. Luciana scoffed and rolled her eyes, a smile on her face as she watched her brother-in-law approach.
"Oh please," She heard Sif, who stood below her on her right, mutter.
The crowd continued to scream and cheer for the God of Thunder, who waved the Mjolnir in the air triumphantly with a big, proud smile on his face. Odin's face remained solemn as he watched his oldest son, making it uncertain whether or not he was disapproving of Thor's antics. Thor approached the stairs and knelt on the floor, taking off his helmet. He winked up to Frigga, smiling, and she sent him a disapproving look, though it was obvious she was happy for her eldest son.
Odin rose from his throne and banged his staff on the floor, silencing the crowd around him.
"Thor Odinson. My heir, my first-born," Odin's voice cracked as he said this. "So long entrusted with the mighty hammer, Mjolnir, forged in the heart of a dying star. Its power has no equal, as a weapon to destroy, or as a tool to build. 'Tis a fit companion for a king. I have defended Asgard and the lives of the innocent across the Nine Realms from the time of the great beginning..."
A chill rushed over Luciana as Odin continued his speech, and she shifted in her place, goose bumps emerging on her skin. Her eyebrows furrowed. How was it so cold? Asgard was just about to enter summer. She placed her hands together in front of her stomach and slowly rubbed on her skin, hoping to bring back its warmth.
"Do you swear to guard the Nine Realms?" Odin asked Thor, breaking Luciana out of her thoughts.
"I swear," Thor answered.
"And do you swear to preserve the peace?"
"I swear."
"Do you swear to cast aside all selfish ambition and to pledge yourself only to the good of the realm?"
"I swear!" Thor yelled, raising his hammer in the air.
"Then on this day, I, Odin All-Father, proclaim you..." Odin trailed off, seeming in thought. Thor's smile slowly faded as he watched his father, whose gaze flickered upwards. "The Frost Giants." Odin said solemnly, and after a moment he banged his staff on the floor, no doubt signalling something.
Luciana felt Loki grab her arm, and within an instant she was being lead away from the throne room, held close to his body. "Stay in our chambers, and don't come out until I fetch you," He whispered urgently.
"But, Loki-" Luciana began to protest and he gently, but firmly, pushed her in the direction of their room.
"Just go, everything will be fine," He assured her, releasing her from his grip in a corridor. "I'll be back, I promise." He took off his helmet and handed it to her before turning around and walking away, leaving her alone in the corridor.
Luciana's mouth opened and closed. "Just be careful!" She called after him, watching his green cape disappear around a corner. She sighed as she looked at the horned helmet in her hands. She held it up towards her face. "You," She began, as if she were speaking to Loki. "Better come back."
Luciana stood at the window, her fingers lightly tapping on her stomach. She turned her head slightly and narrowed her eyes towards Loki's helmet, which sat on his desk, glistening in the sunlight that streamed through the windows.
"Loki..." She sighed.
Just then, the doors to the chambers opened, and her eyes flickered up towards them as Loki stepped in. He closed them securely behind him and looked towards her, smiling lightly at her.
"I told you I'd be back," He said.
Luciana sighed again and turned her body towards him. She walked slowly over to him and put her hands on his cheeks, sliding them down his neck and shoulders before stopping at his chest. "I was so worried about you," She whispered. "You should've let me come with you."
"And put you at the risk of getting hurt? I'd never forgive myself," He said, bringing his hands to hers and giving them a comforting squeeze. "I wouldn't be able to handle it if your being wounded was preventable."
"What about me? It was terrifying to have to wait for you to come back. What if the frost giants try something like this again? I much rather be with you than have to wait in terror just to know whether you're dead or not, let alone wounded."
Loki sighed and put his fingers under her chin, bringing her lips to his. He rested his forehead on hers when he pulled back, and closed his eyes. "It doesn't matter anymore, darling. They're gone. You're safe, I'm safe, everything's alright."
They stood there, holding each other in silence. Luciana's head now rested on Loki's chest as his hands, one placed on the back of her neck and one placed on the small of her back, held her tightly to him. She could faintly hear his heart beating through his armour, and she sighed as she wrapped her arms around his torso.
"Well," Luciana said, breaking the silence. She pulled away from Loki's grasp. "Might as well get changed into different clothing," She said, gesturing to their royal attire. "No sense in wearing these."
I know, it's taking me FOREVER to update. But I've kind of bit off more than I can chew with my life and my stories; I've got one story I'm writing and updating right now and life's decided it's going to pile a bunch of stuff on me all at once.
So yeah, sorry this update has come out incredibly late, and I'm also sorry it's short.
Could I get a review?
PS. I been noticing that some of you guys have been starting to name Loki and Luciana 'Luki' or 'Lukana.' Oh my god, I can't believe they have a couple name! But personally I like the sound of Lokiana. Chew on that for a bit.
