A Happy Ending

Chapter 6

The moment Jack had opened his eyes, after the long few hours they were watching over him, everyone's expressions turned into complete relief.

"Jack!"

"Frostbite!"

"Oh thank god…"

Everyone let out words and sounds of relief, Sandy letting out a silent breathe. Jack was finally awake.

The first thing Jack had complained about was a sore body and an aching head. His eyes turned narrow as he looked towards Bunny, accusing him of having done something to him.

"What did you do to me?"

"The hell ya mean by that?"

"You did something to me you sick.. child-abuser!"

"Ch-child abuser?!"

"Who else would have done something wrong to me, I was with you last!"

"What?! You were not! At least I didn't shoot icicles at you!"

"So you did do someth- wait… Icicles? I didn't throw icicles!" Jack had turned his look to everyone else in the room to validate his point. Everyone looked away from his glaring eyes, causing him to look more confused than accusing.

"Wait… I actually shot icicles at you?"

Jack looked shocked, soon listening to the story of all the things that happened in the end. He could only stare in shock at the tale and looked down. The other's looked worried that he felt bad, but then a wide grin spread on his face as he raised his head.

"Did I look cool?"

That was one question they didn't expect. Soon, more questions were asked from the younger spirit as they stared on dumbfounded.

"How big were the icicles? How much did I make? Did I look real scary or real awesome?!"

Jack was going to go on forever with questions if he wasn't stopped by Bunny's paw over his mouth.

"Stop it Jack."

"Okay…Wait a minute!" Jack looked at Bunny in complete shock. "You actually said my name!"

Bunny stared in confusion, raising an annoyed eyebrow. "The hell ya going on about?"

"You said my name! You usually say Frost, or Frostbite, or something else." Jack smirked, seeing the slightest twitch of Bunny's eye as the Pooka crossed his arms.

"I have called you by your name before, mate!"

"Really? Maybe those were the times I wasn't actually listening…"

Jack grinned at the growl that emanated from his furry rivals throat.

"You little…"

"Little what? I'm pretty sure I'm not as small as you get when you turn into a small baby Kangaroo~"

"I am not a kangaroo, frostbite!"

"Cottentail!"

"Old man!"

Before Jack could make a retort, North gave a hearty laugh while Tooth giggled along. Sandy moved his hands to his mouth, showing off he was laughing as well.

Jack and Bunny gave confusing looks at the three, eyebrows raised in confusion. They soon looked at each other and realized they were laughing at them arguing again. At the realization, Jack couldn't help but laugh along, Bunny chuckling lightly.

It was a rather calm scene, there usual routine happening. This was their normal, what they were used to, and that's what made them all happy.

As the laughing calmed down, Bunny looked as if he remembered something. "Oh yeah, nearly forgot."

Jack looked at Bunny in confusion as he tapped his large rabbit foot three times on the ground, causing a hole to form. Jack watched as Bunny looked towards the others with a nod and they nodded back. Then, without warning, Bunny had turned his back to Jack and crouched down low on all fours, staying still.

The youngest Guardian stared dumbfounded, staring in confusion. He looked between Tooth, North, and Sandy, seemingly asking what he was doing. They only nodded to him, broad smiles on their faces. Jack sighed, looking back at Bunny's furry back before standing up behind him. He then climbed onto his broad back, sitting up on him uncomfortably.

"Guys, what is this supposed to-Gah!"

Jack quickly wrapped his arms around Bunny's neck on instinct the moment the Pooka moved himself steadily on all fours. Bunny would explain everything once they got to the Warren. Jack whined in slight terror, scared he was going to fall off.

Bunny laughed along with the others at Jack's demeanor before jumping down the hole he had created, the hole closing up behind them.

As Bunny dashed through the tunnels, a scared Jack turned into an excited one. They both laughed and chuckled together as Bunny kept going, and once they emerged from the hole, Jack let go of him and landed on his feet unsteadily, falling back onto the grass below them. Bunny chuckled, walking over to the laughing Jack. They seemed to have a moment of complete peace and laughter for a few minutes before calming down and sitting there together.

"That was awesome! We have to do that again." Jack suggested with a wide grin.

Bunny only chuckled back.

"Sure."

The answer stumped Jack, not expecting such an easy reply about such a request. He expected him to reject the suggestion half-heartedly. "Really?" He asked, standing up as Bunny stood as well.

"Yeah, why not. I have to admit, it was pretty fun. Besides, the others believe we got to bond more, so that's pretty much why I brought you here."

As he spoke, Bunny had led Jack over to his home and walked inside, Jack following behind him quietly.

Bunny got his staff from the room they had abandoned it in and handed it over to it's owner, the younger guardian smiling and nodding in thanks. Holding it close with one secure hand, Jack curiously looked at the Pooka as he led him outside again.

"And what exactly are we doing to 'bond'?" Jack asked, stopping when Bunny got to the area he usually painted his eggs.

Jack watched as several egglets wondered around, blank and unpainted.

"Well, I still got several eggs to paint, and I'm not too sure I could finish them all on my own." Bunny lied, knowing he could, but wanting to entice the winter spirit.

Jack's face turned into complete surprise.

"Wait… are you asking me to-"

"Paint the eggs with me? Well, maybe, if you want to…" Bunny smirked, handing over a small paintbrush with a thin brush point.

Jack took it excitedly, nodding quickly at the growing anticipation.

"Yeah! I totally do! And I will totally show you I can decorate stuff, since you said I couldn't draw."

"I didn't say that." Bunny retorted, sitting down on a stump while Jack sat down on the grass, resting his staff beside him.

"Did too." Jack replied back with narrowed eyes, but it was soon replaced with another round of excitement as Bunny set down several small pots of paint with a variety of different colors, an extra pot with water within it to wash off the brush.

Bunny reached over and ruffled up Jack's hair.

"Then show me whatcha got, Jack."

Jack found himself smiling, and at the same time, they started painting their eggs, a calm atmosphere growing between them.

And high above them, the faint image of the moon shown bright, watching down at the spectacle below…

And there you have it! The end.

I hope it wasn't too cliché, I tried real hard to make it happy and heartwarming! But yeah, the final Chapter done.

But don't worry, I will totally be making another Rise of the Guardians fanfiction next.

It's either going to be dabbles or a short story, or a chapter long story. Of course will involve as much characters as possible!

So, can't wait to see what you guys will have in store for me. Thank you to all that has been supportive, once again. I appreciate the love~ v

See you next time!
