Rachel swung by the tables quickly, making sure that all of the empty glasses were taken care of. The bar was bustling with people, and she had hardly any time to stop and catch her breath. Of course, this wasn't something to complain about. She was glad that the bar was doing so well. As long as the bar was getting enough money for her and the other workers to get paid, she was happy. And besides, Callbacks was a fun place to work. With karaoke nights, awesome music, and great drinks, it was hard to get the customers out at closing time.

She tried her best to keep up, setting down the platter of empty glasses on the counter for Brittany to pick up. The blonde noticed them and took them immediately, almost running to the back room. Almost as if she knew what would happen, Rachel watched as Brittany tripped on her on feet. Thankfully, another worker was there to catch the platter before everything tipped over. Embarrassed, Brittany looked over her shoulder at Rachel and grinned sheepishly. Rachel tried to hold back a laugh, finding her friend's clumsiness adorable nonetheless.

Going back to her own work, she managed to get five seconds of air before hearing Klary call from the nearest side of the room asking for Rachel's help. She groaned for a moment before weaving between a few people to aid the girl.

Two hours went by and Rachel still had not been able to relax. The music from the speakers blasted loudly, pumping through her body. She rubbed her head, feeling a headache coming on. Running towards the back wall, she tried to find a soothing spot.

But right before she had any chance to make it there, someone came behind her and grabbed her. It happened so fast that she couldn't turn to defend herself. The next thing she knew, she was in an office, and confused as ever.

"You looked like you could use a break."

Rachel grinned once she realized who the voice came from. Turning around, she saw Finn standing there.

"You could've asked politely," she replied with a playful grin. This made him smirk before picking her up and placing her on the desk, moving in front of her so that her legs wrapped around his waist. She smiled in response, immediately wrapping her arms around his neck and pulling him down to kiss him. He responded in the same fashion, holding on to her.

His hands roamed down her back, feeling every curve of her body. He had to admit, he kinda loved the new uniforms for the waitresses. The sleek, slim red dresses that they wore complimented Rachel's perfectly. "You look pretty sexy tonight," he told her, almost as if the thoughts in his mind were falling out onto his tongue.

To his surprise, she responded with a blush and a grin, biting her lip. Kissing him again, she ran her fingers through his hair and felt her heart pounding against her chest.

If she was told a few months ago that she would be making out with Finn Hudson in his office, she would've been appalled. But there, in that moment, she couldn't have been happier. She was so glad that they were working things out. The only issue now was to make sure no one found out that they no longer hated each other. It had been a game for about a week or so, pretending to absolutely despise each other. After a public fight, they would resort to the kitchen after everyone had left and laugh until they couldn't breathe. They felt like best friends again.

It had only lasted a few more minutes before they heard a knock at the door. Almost in unison, their eyes went wide. Scrambling, they tried to find out what to do. "Under the desk," Finn muttered through his teeth quietly. Rachel nodded, scampering around and ducking under the desk. It was pretty uncomfortable considering she was in a tight dress and heels, but it was what she had to do. Once Finn was sure Rachel was hidden, he blew out a breath and opened the door. To his surprise, Marley was standing there. With a bright, bubbly smile and rosy cheeks, she greeted him. "A man named Puck told me that this was your office?" she asked. Finn cleared his throat, unable to form words when all he could think of was having Rachel behind the desk.

"I mean, yeah. This is the right place." Marley's eyes moved past him and his mind raced. "I mean, there's the plaque on the door, too," he said, pointing to the nameplate to avert her gaze. It worked, making Marley smile. "Right. Silly, me," she answered. She tucked her hair behind her ears and bashfully looked at the ground.

Finn looked at her for a second, feeling a little guilty. She was a beautiful girl, and probably one of the nicest people he'd ever met. Whatever they had, if they did have anything, would never work as long as Rachel was around. In his mind, he thought that Marley sensed that at their double-date. But if that was the case, why was she here? What did she want? Inside, he cringed, hoping that he was wrong about her intentions.

Seconds later, she looked back up again.

"You're probably wondering why I'm here," she said. He nodded, but in his head, he was screaming.

"I was wondering if there were any job openings. I'm a pretty good worker, and I'm very punctual. I don't know if I can make drinks that well, but I can keep up with the pace. I could even just clean dirty dishes in the back, if that's what you need."

Finn sighed, glad that she wasn't addressing what had happened the other night. For a moment, he had forgotten that Rachel was still in the room. Sitting there, she listened to Marley's voice and cringed a bit, also feeling guilty for her presence. She didn't mean to invade anything that they had. Marley was nice enough. But Rachel knew that having Marley working here would cause even more trouble, and she was sure that Finn already knew that.

"Yeah, sure," he said almost without thinking. He was so set on ending the conversation that the words spilled out of his mouth. Behind the desk, Rachel flinched in frustration, making the table shake. Marley peaked around Finn's body, noticing the movement. Immediately Finn laughed nervously, trying to distract her. "Must be the guys downstairs," he said, trying to cover it up. Marley still looked suspicious, so he went further in distracting her. "You can start tomorrow. We need another person to clean behind the bar," he told her. While she still did look a little confused with what had happened, Marley nodded.

"Great. Thanks so much. I'll see you tomorrow?"

"See you tomorrow."

Thankfully, he didn't need to say anything else before she walked off and Finn closed the door. Taking in a deep breath, he tried to take in what had just happened. Rachel squirmed under the desk, trying to get out. Not in the most graceful of ways, she crawled out from the opening and stood, holding onto the edge of the desk for leverage.

"Are you serious?" she asked. "Of all people that you could've hired!"

"I know, I know. I'm sorry, okay?" he answered, "It just... came out of me. I freaked out and it just… happened." His voice almost sounded desperate, hoping that she wouldn't scream at him.

Rachel groaned, placing her hands on the desk. "This just got a lot more complicated," she said softly. Hearing the tone of her voice soften, Finn walked to her side and wrapped his arms around her. "People are going to wonder where you've been. You should probably get back out there," he told her. Nodding, Rachel turned her head up to look at one more time before heading out the door. She had hoped that things would only go up from here, but now, with having Marley working at Callbacks, she wasn't so sure what would happen.

Rachel slumped on her bed, looking out the window. Things between her and Finn had been a bit mellow ever since Marley joined Callbacks, creating a rift between them. Any chance at sneaking off to see him was gone, and by the time his hours were over, Santana was already back in the dorm.

"Will you please stop slouching and being a sad sack? It's not attractive," Santana told her. Rachel tried to sit up straight, making sure to let the girl know she was paying attention. The last time that she ignored her, Rachel received a fine slap across the face.

"What's up with you anyway? Is it Finn? Because I swear to God, if that boy has done that whole 'hump and dump' shit, I'll kick his ass," the Latina asserted, her hands on her hips. Rachel looked up at Santana and saw the fire in her eyes. While she knew that her friend could be a bit dramatic most of the time, she appreciated how much she cared. Sometimes her affection was shown in some unconventional ways.

"He hasn't… 'humped and dumped' me," she said, cringing at the sound of it. "He actually hasn't done anything," she added.

"So you rubbed off on him? Christ, now he's a prude," said Santana, cutting Rachel off.

"No! We've… made out. But listen, that's not the point. The point is, he hired Marley at Callbacks. Hiding whatever we have is even harder."

There was silence in the room for a few seconds. Santana took it in, sitting next to her. Her expression was more relaxed, and almost sympathetic.

"Are you together or not?" she finally asked.

Rachel sat there silent. She wasn't even sure herself.

"We haven't exactly put any labels on it," Rachel answered simply.

Santana groaned, crossing her arms over her chest.

"So then what the hell are you? Fuck buddies?"

"We've established that we have feelings for each other, and that we're going with the flow."

The Latina sat there with a blank stare. "You guys are the worst. If you don't have the balls to tell everyone that you're together, then I'll do it myself," she said, getting up. Rachel grabbed her arm, pulling her back. "If you say a word, I'm telling everyone about Brittany."

At those words, Santana froze. "What about her?" she said, trying to play it off. Rachel stood her ground, keeping her expression firm. "You know exactly what I'm talking about," the shorter girl responded. To that, Santana pulled her arm away.

"Blackmailing me, huh? I didn't know you had it in you," Santana stated as she moved towards her bed and pulled out a magazine. Rachel didn't respond, hoping that her friend's response meant that she would keep her mouth shut.

Finn dialed his phone, pressing the numbers anxiously in hopes of catching Rachel before her next class. They hadn't been able to have a proper conversation in a couple of days, and he really missed her.

Seeing his caller ID, Rachel's face lit up. Without hesitation, she answered, putting the phone to her ear.

"Hey," she said softly, walking through the halls of the college.

"Hey, babe," he responded. The gesture was new and came out before he could stop it. But when Rachel responded quickly, his fears were squashed. She blushed, hearing the word coming from his mouth.

"What are you up to?" she asked. By now, she had made it past the science labs and was on her way to her math room. Class was to start in about five minutes, but she hoped that time would stop so she could talk to him.

"I just closed for the day. It was pretty slow. What about you? I was hoping you weren't in class."

"I'm actually almost to my math class now. I'm dreading having to sit through another one of Mr. Hanover's lectures about algorithms and sequences and how they're so vital to understanding life itself." She chuckled softly. "You know, after all this time, you would've thought that he would become a philosophy teacher or even a psychologist. He always just found a way to incorporate science into everything we did and while it is interesting, it's also quite annoying and I can't wait until – "

"I miss you," Finn said, interrupting her. Rachel stopped in her tracks.

There was silence for a few seconds. The two both had a sad expression on their faces, wishing that things didn't have to be like they had been.

After what had felt like forever, she responded. "I miss you too. I really do."

"I'll close the bar tomorrow. We can go out somewhere for the day. You don't have classes on Tuesdays, right?" he asked.

"You're right, but-"

"Awesome!"

"Finn! You can't just close the bar for me. It'll seem suspicious, and besides, karaoke night is on Tuesday!"

He couldn't help but grin at her concern for karaoke night. "I'm sure they can wait a few more days. I really need to see you, and after all this time, we deserve some time together… don't we?"

She felt conflicted as to what she should do, but her heart told her to say yes. He was making a sacrifice for her and was showing that he cared. Wasn't that a sign that she should follow through? She missed him as well, and as bad as she felt about him closing the bar the next day, she knew in her heart what she wanted.

Seconds later, he heard her response.

"What time should I meet you?"

He smiled, happy that she was willing to come. "9 AM. Bright and early. We've got a whole day together and I don't want to waste a second."

"You're lucky that I'm early riser," she said with a grin.

"I sure am. See you tomorrow."

Hanging up, he couldn't keep the smile off his face.

So, I'm hoping that this didn't disappoint. I was hoping to make this a bit longer, but I felt that it would fit better with the next chapter I'm writing. There's a whole lot more to come, and chapter should come more frequently than they had before. As I said before, Mission Possible will be up this month as well! Thanks to everyone who ever followed/faved this story and such great things to say!
