Hell Part 13
Anna wakes up from a dream, skin flushed, heart beating really fast. She's a bit disoriented, not a few seconds ago she was in bed, Remy's bed. She looks around and notices she's in the living room, Remy kneeling down beside her, concern plastered on his face.
"Anna, are you ok?"
"I'm fine. Just a bad dream." She answers.
"You were screaming my name. Are you sure you're ok?"
"Yeah."
"Did you want something to drink? A glass of water perhaps."
"Yes please, that would be great." She sees him heading to the kitchen and realizes he's only wearing boxers. "This is not helping" she thinks to herself as she closes her eyes to try and get the image out of her head. When she opens her eyes, he's standing in front of her, glass of water in hand. She takes it, drinks a bit from it and settles the glass on the small coffee table on the side of the couch.
"Are you sure you're alright?"
"Yes. I am."
He nods and tells her he's going back to sleep. No sooner does he turn around that she stands to stop him.
"Remy wait." He turns around to look at her. "I lied."
"Quoi?" He sounds a bit tired but interested as to what she has to say.
"I didn't have a nightmare. I actually had a dream about the two of us… having sex." She finishes, as she brings her eyes to the floor. She feels her cheeks turning red and feels stupid for ever saying anything. Now she regrets her words and hopes he doesn't laugh at her.
"Was that your first dream about us?" He asks, a smile on his face.
She rolls her eyes. "No." She then looks away. Why is she telling him something so private? She should've just stayed quiet, then he would've gone back to bed and she would be alone to stew on her recent erotic dream and incorporating those red boxers in it.
"You've had dreams about me?"
"Don't flatter yourself. It was TWO dreams, that's it."
"Right." He sees her slowly walking up to him.
"It was just a dream. Could you go back to bed so I can get some sleep?"she adds, still marching up to him. He knows she's saying one thing, but her body is betraying her.
He can't stay there any longer. He has to move away from her or he'll break his promise. He feels her standing right in front of him, can feel the heat from her body and it's driving him completely insane. He would gladly walk through Hell if she asked him, with only the promise that he could kiss her. He tries to back away from her but she matches his steps.
"Anna" He whispers. "You're not playing fair."
"What are you talking about?" she smiles at him.
"You know what I mean."
"I only want one kiss. Will you deny me this one request?"
He tries to turn around and walk away but she stops him. "You don't know what you want Anna. You're tired. You should go back to bed."
"Remy" she pleads. "One kiss won't be the end of the world." She explains as she closes the distance between them. He finally gives in, letting his lips gently meet hers. He feels her hands making their way up his chest to stop behind his head, to bring him closer still. He breaks the embrace and briskly walks away.
She sees him stopping at the counter, putting his hands on it.
"This must be really easy for you. You can kiss me and walk away, just like that?"
He clutches the counter to prevent himself from turning around. He just can't bring himself to look at her. "Easy? You think this is easy for me." He takes a deep breath. "This is more difficult than you can imagine, Anna."
"Then why won't you look at me?" She attempts to grab his arm to turn him around but he moves out of her reach.
"Don't! Please just stay away."
"What?! I don't understand you. First you say that you want to court me, but you want me to leave you alone. How does that work exactly? There's a big gap between kissing and having sex, Remy, and I don't know if I'm ready for all of it. All I wanted was one kiss, to know if it felt the same as the first one we shared." His gaze falls on her. "It does, by the way. You didn't break your promise to me. I asked."
"You don't understand how difficult this is. I'm trying to keep my distance but it's hard when you-"
"When I what?" she interrupts. "When I'm dressed this way?" pointing to the fact that she's wearing a camisole and undies.
"Non, you could be wearing a winter suit and I'd still want you."
"Then what? It was only a kiss. That's it. No big deal. Why do you make it out to be?"
"It wasn't just the kiss. You give off signals that you want me all the time. There's not one surface of this apartment I haven't fantasied fucking you on ." He raises his voice at her.
"So now I'm a tease. That's priceless." She shouts back.
"I never said that."
"The next thing you'll tell me is that I'm beautiful and you can't take your hands off me."
"That's it! I'm going to bed." He storms passed her making his way to his bedroom.
"Hey." She tries to stop him.
"Go to bed Anna!" he yells back at her. She is sure if there would've been a door, he would've slammed it.
She's sitting on the sofa bed, completely at a loss for words. How could this be such a mess? She never should've said anything, never should've asked him to kiss her. Now, everything is fucked up.
She tries to make herself comfortable under the blankets, still thinking about their argument and how it's going to affect them. She was afraid something like this was going to happen. Some physical "stimulation" and he turns into a monster. She looks at the opening for the bedroom and sees him coming out, completely dressed, walking towards her. She's not sure what his intentions are but as he makes his way closer, she clutches the blanket tighter to her chest.
"I've been thinking this over and we need a break." He throws at her.
Oh crap. Their first fight. Will he tell her to go or is he planning to leave?
