"In this world, there are few people who actually trust each other." -Light Yagami (Death Note)

Crimson eyes carefully eyed the sleeping child, taking in the way his features softened in the candlelight with a sharp intensity. It was dark out and everyone was asleep in the manor making it easier for the butler to observe the boy without the danger of being caught. Curiosity clawed at his mind and had been doing so since he first met the Half-Blood. The question that was the most prominent was why he felt such an magnetism toward the small demon. It had been a few centuries since someone had caught his attention so completely like Hadrian had.

He could tell it was definitely the power radiating off the small child, it burned like a wildfire, the heat causing his skin warm and tingle pleasantly when he came in contact. It made him want to push Hadrian to the limits, to see what he what he could accomplish and watch to see what type of demon he turned out to be. The butler knew without a doubt that the sleeping boy in front of him was going to achieve amazing things, the pure power surrounding his seemingly weak form was enough proof.

What to do, what to do...

Stilling as the temperature in the room escalated, he turned his head slowly staring at the candle flame. The flame pulsed rising and falling in height wildly, his chocolate eyes narrowing, the butler refrained from answering the threat knowing now wasn't the time. Reluctantly he took his eyes off the child and stepped away from the bed, eyes narrowed as a dark aura appeared in the room.

"I didn't see you as the protective type Phenex." He murmured, eyes turning toward the the man who stood on the other side of Hadrian's bed. "One would think you actually care about the child."

Phenex smiled though his eyes were dark with threat. "The way you were watching him was grating on my nerves, you should be careful Malphas, someone might accuse you of being a pedophile."

Chuckling in dry humor, Sebastian wasn't the least bit offended. "I have been called far worse." He replied voice pleasant despite the irritation he felt toward the other demon being in the same room. Demons never approached each other unless they were itching for a fight or were interested in the other. "Besides I would hardly call him a child, we both know that demons age differently than humans."

To humans Hadrian was thirteen, but time in Hell time passed by faster than on earth, in Hell he was considered sixteen. Though still young, it was perfectly acceptable to begin courting a demon that age, it wasn't like demons really had many morals after all.

"I would appreciate if you kept your claws from my son Malphas, I don't mind you teasing him but he is still confused and I'd rather him not be distracted." Phenex responded, eyes glowing dangerously as the temperature in the room reached to dangerous heights.

Face darkening, Sebastian allowed himself to break out of the human mask he had created as something within him stirred. "You should watch your words Marquis." They both knew if it came down to it Phenex would lose, being a Prince of Hell Malphas not only had forty legions of demons under his control but his power greatly overwhelmed the others. Phenex was powerful in his own right, but Malphas was well over two thousand years old and in the demon world the older you were the more power and experience you had.

For a moment the two demons stared each other down, both tense and prepared for an attack.

"Mmm, no I don't want it..."

The two demon's turned to look at the sleeping child, watching as he turned onto his back before sighing and becoming quiet, despite the immense temperature Hadrian wasn't even sweating. That was to be expected though, fire raced through his veins making it impossible for him to feel hot.

Sebastian allowed his face to fall back into his polite mask, eyes returning to their normal color. "Excuse me, I must start preparing breakfast for my Master." He turned his back on the other demon without hesitation, leaving the room in graceful strides.

Once away from Phenex's prying gaze, Sebastian allowed a dark smirk to form on his features. Before he hadn't been sure, but after Phenex's little episode he knew what he wanted, and no mere Marquis was going to stop him.

Once Hadrian woke up he immediately tried to sense if Ciel was nearby and relaxed when he realized that he was alone, he knew that the Earl wanted to demand answers out of him and the half-demon wanted to avoid that as much as possible. He didn't want Ciel to know about what he was, he could tell that something had happened to the gentle child he once knew to make his soul so- delicious and mouthwatering- tainted and it had changed Ciel.

When he had arrived in the human world, the news of the Phantomhive fire and the death of Ciel's parents had immediately come to his attention, he knew that it would have affected Ciel greatly. Much like any normal child he was sure Ciel would have changed when faced with the deaths of his parents. Without a doubt the younger child would try to manipulate him, which he refused to let happen.

He didn't know the details but anyone could tell someone had purposely killed of the Phantomhives, and he was sure Ciel had summoned a demon for revenge. It sounded too much like Voldemort for his liking, the dark Wizard had twisted his soul in the worst way possible just so he could achieve his goal while Ciel was selling his soul. He didn't know why the people around him were so insistent to damage their souls, was it something about him that made them do it?

Deciding that he had waited around long enough Hadrian made his way off the bed, honestly Ciel was rather naive to think he would just stay in one place.

He quickly reached the large window in his room and pushed it open, closing his eyes for a moment to enjoy the cool breeze before opening them again and pushing himself up on the sill. Crimson locks dancing in the wind he nimbly jumped up and into the blue sky effortlessly landing on the top of a nearby tree.

"Kyu!"

Hadrian smiled as a black ball of fluff flew toward him, the small animal chirping happily as it was reunited with it's owner. "Hello Sodom." He greeted his green eyes scanning the tree tops warily as if the butler would suddenly leap at him any moment. From what he could sense the butler was off about five miles to the west along with Ciel and a couple other people that he just barely recognized. That didn't really make him any less tense though, he knew that Malphas was very fast and could easily catch up to him if he wanted.

As if sensing his thoughts, he felt Malpahs's aura spike in humor making the younger demon narrow his eyes in annoyance. Snarling under his breath Hadrian jumped from off the tree not really knowing where to go, Phenex hadn't shown himself yet so he was left to his own devices, really anywhere was better than his current location. He picked up his pace when a few minutes later Ciel's aura grew annoyed assuming that the butler had informed him of his escape. Cursing when Malphas was suddenly approaching too fast for his liking Hadrian picked his pace up until he was invisible to the human eye, nearly flying through the air. Thanks to constantly running around Hell his speed was far greater than his physical strength, so there was a small chance that he could get away.

"Kyu! Kyu!"

The small chirping of his familiar made the half-demon smirk as an idea formed in his mind worthy of Fred and George's approval. He may not be as strong as the older demon, but he had Marauder blood in his veins. Well had, but really he was still Harry Potter in a sense, just with a few changes here and there.

Jumping off from the top of a tree he allowed his body to fall onto the forest floor in a graceful crouch. "Sodom go distract him, I need two minutes." He commanded the small creature, eyes closing as he started humming. Chirping in reply the small familiar flew off, while he wouldn't change into a dragon the small being still could breath fire in his current form which would be enough to entertain Malphas for a few moments.

Phenex was a phoenix demon known for his alluring voice that lured his prey into thinking he was less threatening then he appeared. It wasn't a power Hadrian was proud of having, his voice sounded too sweet and angelic like for a demon, but it would help in this situation. In the books the summoners were cautioned to not listen to Phenex's songs, his voice was capable of making the person to see things that weren't really there eventually driving him insane if under the spell long enough.

Demon or not the spell was able to affect anyone, but unlike a human he knew that Malphas would never be driven insane by something as petty as an illusion. The older demon would though, be held back long enough until Hadrian could finally get away and find that man-woman.

A minute and a half had passed by, and he could hear the sounds of fire roaring not too far from his position. He didn't allow himself to become nervous, if his voice so much as cracked when he was setting up the illusion then it wouldn't work. Voice quiet, Hadrian held back a grin as he finally finished the illusion, really this was one of his finest works yet. When the sound of approaching footsteps reached his ears he quickly finished up the song hoping that Sodom had survived the ordeal intact. In a smooth movement he stood up and turned around to face the approaching figure, anticipation to see what would happen clawing at his mind as Malphas entered his field of vision.

Hadrian took delight in realizing that the butler's uniform was slightly singed, mentally promising Sodom a reward when they finally got away.

"Really must you send that creature after me every time?" Malphas murmured pausing a few feet away from the smaller demon. "It ruined my uniform."

Snorting Hadrian bared his fangs in a parody of a grin, nearly vibrating in excitement as he felt his illusion start to form behind him. "You'll have far worse problems to worry about then your uniform in a moment." He replied, chuckling as a menacing hiss ruffled the hair on the back of his head.

Eyes widening in surprise, Malphas took in the massive form of the eighty foot basilisk towering behind the small demon. "Oh my, it has been quite a long time since I've seen one of those." He commented, eyes flicking toward Hadrian. "I do wonder how it got here so suddenly."

"Curious isn't it?"

In a impressive show of speed the basilisk struck toward Malphas, it's massive fangs glinting with poison as its mouth opened. Watching the creature with humor in his eyes the butler simply clicked his tongue in reprimand.

"It's going to take more then an illusion to get away from me Hadrian." Malphas said, leaping high into the air as the snake collided with the ground. "Though I do applaud your impressive talent." Hissing in anger the basilisk rose up, its golden eyes tracking Malphas's movements and rising upward toward his descending form. Dark hair dancing the butler lashed out a foot as the reptile got too close, colliding with the illusion and making it scatter into bright pieces of light.

Pretending to be annoyed Hadrian watched as the butler landed on the ground, barely even ruffled as his clothes settled back around his body. "That was supposed to last longer." He replied, only half-lying because really? It was far less durable then he had wanted it to be.

Malpahs smiled in apology, the sparkles around his face making the younger demon twitch in real annoyance. "It will be a long time until you will be able to take me on I am afraid, now if you would be as kind as to-" A large paw crashed down onto the place he had been seconds ago, three snarling dog heads looking around as they tried to spot the demon.

Hadrian smirked, looking toward the side at the butler's crouched form a few feet away. "Sorry I forgot to mention fluffy, he doesn't take well to strangers."

Head snapping upward, Malphas eyed him with a sudden startling intensity that made the hair on his arms rise. Something absolutely predatory shifted in his gaze before the polite mask of the butler appeared again. "I rather dislike dogs I'm afraid."

"Pity." Hadrian drawled, forcing his voice not show how affected he had been by the look. "Now if you don't mind I'll be on my way." He turned away from the scene, instantly falling into an all out sprint as the fluffy roared and jumped toward the butler. He had set up the illusion to change into two more creatures before finally dispersing, which he hoped would last long enough until he could finally get away.

"Kyu!"

Looking toward the small being flying his direction, Hadrian eyed the slightly ruffled appearance it had with relief. Though Sodom was strong, not being able to transform made it harder for him to fight against someone as strong as Malphas. "Thank you Sodom, your help is appreciated."

Sodom chirped and landed on his head to rest, clearly tired after the battle he had.

Eventually Hadrian made it out of the forest by turning randomly and really having no idea where he was, he ended up in a large field with a few horses grazing and stopped there. Tentatively he searched for Malphas's aura, his muscles stiffening when he realized there was no sign of him. That was a bad thing, since he knew from prior experience that the demon could easily sneak up on him without so much as a warning.

Deciding that it was worth it he called for his father, hoping that the Phoenix demon would get him further away via his fire teleportation similar to the Phoenix that had accompanied Dumbledore was capable of.

But of course, being as unpredictable as he was the damn demon didn't come.

Growling Hadrian started to pace, his eyes constantly scanning his surroundings for any sign of Malphas. What was he going to do? He couldn't very well keep running, he needed to get further away in a shorter amount of time and his only option had been Phenex. His father was probably off cackling to himself-

A body rugby tackling him with the force of a semi-truck broke his train of thought and he promptly face planted into the ground. For a moment he could only lay there, dazed beyond belief as stars exploded in front of his eyes.

"Your talents are rather impressive for a Half-demon." A smooth tenor crooned as the body shifted above him, easily forcing him to stay in place. "But I'm afraid you'd have to be closer to your father's level to even dream about getting away from me little demon."

Snarling Hadrian seethed knowing that he really wasn't going to get away when under Malphas's watchful eye, it was infuriating that his body was so weak while internally he was a battle honed adult. The fire within raged, and it took all his will not to fry the older demon.

"Now now, no need to start another forest fire." Malphas commented obviously feeling his body start to heat up. "If you would so kindly cooperate and come back to Young Master's manor it would be greatly appreciated."

Hadrian kept the snarky reply on the tip of this tongue to himself deciding he might as well just get it over with. If Ciel wanted to talk to him so badly that he'd send the butler after him then he would answer any questions before leaving, and he would leave. He hated being forced to do anything, especially when it was him cadged in a house for an extended amount of time. It reminded him too much of the Dursley's and the many years he had to stay in that godforsaken house because Dumbledore said it was safe. Obviously at the Phantomhive manor he would be less restricted, but it still made his hair stand on end at the mere thought.

"Fine." Hadrian finally responded, the fire within him calming as his temper did.

If Ciel showed any signs of wanting to keep him in his manor Hadrian would leave, not even Malphas would be able to stop him.

"I suppose my cake won't be of use after all." Sebastian murmured staring at the perfectly decorated cake on the counter, outside of the kitchen laughter could be heard which he easily ignored. It was a pity that Young Master wouldn't be able to eat his cake, but he supposed it didn't matter.

For his own amusement he slipped of a white glove, the same pentagram that was behind his Master's eyepatch contrasting with his pale skin and black nails and dipped his fingers into the frosting. "I wonder what makes this so satisfying to humans." He murmured turning his body toward the silent demon who was glaring at him while sitting on the counter placed in the middle of the kitchen.

"They like sweet things." Hadrian replied, arms crossing as the older demon starting approaching. "What are you doing?" He asked glancing between Sebastian's fingers and his face.

Smirking mischievously Sebastian stopped when he was only an inch away from Hadrian's knee and brought up his frosting coated fingers. "I would be so disappointed if I couldn't share this with someone after how long it took for me to make it."

He took delight in the way the small demon's eyes widened when he finally realized what was about to happen, and lashed his hand before Hadrian could so much as move an inch. "Now now, no need to be rude."

Hadrian snarled as the slim fingers invaded his mouth, his own hands rising to claw at Sebastian's arm only to receive a smirk in response. "You bwastward." The frosting tasted like dirt to him making him scowl in distaste. Annoyed that Sebastian wasn't affected by the deep claw marks in his arm he snapped his jaw down, his fangs easily sinking into the flesh in hopes that it would make the older demon retract them.

Unfortunately it was exactly what Sebastian wanted, his smirk turning dark his other hand snatched the back of Hadrian's head pulling harshly at his hair so his head was kept in one place.

Panicking Hadrian released the digits in hopes that they would go away, head jerking as they took the chance to go deeper into his mouth. A deep growl of frustration vibrated in his chest, and he glared defiantly at the older demon through dark lashes when his head refused to move. Within seconds the wounds had healed, but the liquid was still in his mouth the delicious taste making it nearly impossible for him to not swallow immediately.

Chuckling Sebastian moved closer until their noses were nearly touching, emerald battled chocolate as fingers teasingly caressed the soft tongue when they came in contact with it. "Come now, it won't harm you Hadrian." He nearly purred. "I promise."

Hadrian closed his eyes, shuddering as some of the liquid made it's way down his throat. It tasted so good like he had just consumed the best tasting sweet in the world, eagerly he swallowed the rest feeling disappointed as he realized there wasn't much to begin with.

"It wasn't that hard now was it?"

He snapped his eyes open and glared heatedly toward Sebastian, the butler had informed him of his 'human' name when they reached the manor, wishing desperately that he could kill the butler.

Sebastian took a step back, releasing his domineering hold on the crimson hair and taking his fingers out of Hadrian's mouth. "No need to pout Hadrian, it was only blood."

"I'm going to kill you one day."

"I'll make sure to look forward to it."

AN: So basically Hadrian is psychically sixteen while to humans he would be thirteen because to them he had lived thirteen years, as I explained in Hell time goes by faster so to the Demons he is sixteen. This was one of the only ways I could make it slightly okay that there was going to be some 'interaction' with Sebastian and Hadrian without feeling bad. Remember though, mentally he's over a hundred, it's his body that is young. I hope you liked the chapter, sorry for any mistakes.
