Prologue~

"What are you all doing here in my dream?" I exclaimed as numerous people simply appeared in front of me, all wearing the confused expression I was sure was on my face as well.

"Don't ask us," Rose replied, stepping forward from the throng of faces. "We were all about to ask you the same question."

Behind Rose, several heads nodded in agreement and as they did I caught a glimpse of most of them.

Next to Rose stood Dimitri and Queen Vasilisa, with who I assumed was Christian Ozera not far away. Jill and Eddie were there to along with Angeline, Trey, Sonya, Marcus and Zmey (though I should refer to him as Abe). At the farther end of the group was Adrian who immediately smiled when I made eye contact.

One face I hadn't seen then stepped out of the throng and I was relieved to see it was Ms. Terwilliger. She would be able to give some explanation for this.

"I would think that there is a very obvious reason you are all here. For some reason, the universe wants you to know things that have so far been kept from you. And what better way than to have you read about it?"

"What do you mean by read about it…" I started before my eyes fell on a set of three books stacked on a simple wooden table.

Walking towards the books, closely followed by everyone else, the cover slowly became more visible until the picture became clear.

"Oh my God Sydney. You're on the cover. Why would you be on the cover?" Jill questioned, clearly puzzled by the fact. She wasn't the only one.

"I'd think it would be quite obvious," commented Ms. Terwilliger, as if finding a book with your face on it was quite normal. "The book is obviously about Sydney, and we obviously need to read it."

"I agree," piped in Queen Vasilisa. "There has to be a reason we are here and so are the books. That we should read them seems logical. And I personally think Sydney should, for at least part of it."

At Vasilisa's words people nodded in agreement and I went and picked up the top book, a red one with the title of 'Bloodlines'.

Sitting down on the floor, cross-legged, everybody else did the same and I opened the page, everybody looking at me with expressions of anticipation and nervousness.
