This is just a one-shot that I had written and I felt like you all needed a treat for being such awesome readers. This is the one-shot that explains how Dean made up with Cas using a single white rose. It was so cute and fluffy I just had to write it.
See you all in the next story Tying the Frayed Knot!
Supernatural belongs to Eric Kripke. Well maybe I am Eric Kripke… Nah of course I'm not…

Castiel paced around the room wondering where Dean was. It was half an hour past eight at night. He should have been back by now.
It had been a little over seven months since Cas had professed his love to Dean. He thought the hunter would reject him or look down on him but Dean simply smiled and revealed his true feelings for the angel. Since then they had been a couple. It had taken everyone a while to accept it but they eventually did.
Cas and Dean were no strangers to arguing. Dean would become upset when Cas would disappear for hour and sometimes days on end. And it would infuriate Cas when Dean would come home drunk reeking of cheap perfume and scraps of paper with numbers hidden in his pocket. But no matter how big the fight they always managed to get past it.
Except for today.
Dean had become extremely irritable and Cas would snap at the hunter when he was yelled at.
In fact they had a screaming match a few hours earlier. That was before Dean pulled on a coat and left the house slamming the door behind him.
A very angry Cas waited for Dean to come home.
At around 9 p.m. the door opened to reveal a severely drunken Dean. He slid off his coat and threw it on the door. He kicked off his shoes and stumbled towards Castiel.
"Hey there angel," Dean slurred the words together.
"Dean I will not talk to you while you are intoxicated." Cas said through his teeth.
"Aw baby don't be like that." he was trying to grab Cas' face but he couldn't grab his face firmly enough.
Cas swatted his hands away. "Dean go to bed." he ordered.
Dean grinned. "Ok as long as you come with me." he winked.
Cas was not in the mood for anything sexual especially with a drunk Dean. "Go to bed." he hissed.
"Ok fine but you don't have to be such a priss about it." he muttered climbing up the stairs clutching the railing for dear life.
Cas watched him go to their room to sleep. He sat on the couch and ran his fingers through his already messy hair. He held his head in his hands. He hated it when Dean got drunk because that meant he was mad at Cas.
Dean woke up a few hours later with a pounding headache. He remembered getting drunk after leaving the house in anger. Dean hated himself when he got drunk. He hated doing it but it was the only thing that could get his mind off of the awful argument that he had with Castiel.
Dean stood up and tried to walk down the stairs to where Cas was. He was about to walk down the steps when he heard faint sobbing. Dean mentally kicked himself. He hated himself even more when he made Cas cry.
He walked down the stairs to see his angel sitting on the couch holding his head in his hands.
"Cas?" he asked sitting next to him but not too close.
He looked up at the hunter with red eyes. "Are you still drunk Dean?" he choked out.
"Not as much as before." the hunter faintly smiled.
"Why do you smell like perfume?" Cas asked harshly.
"Dammit it must have been that girl at the bar." Dean muttered to himself.
"What girl Dean?" Cas seethed.
"She was no one just a girl who was hitting on me." he grumbled.
"Dean," he warned the hunter.
"Just drop it Cas." Dean snapped.
There were a few moments of silence between them. They didn't look at each other or move from their spots on the couch.
"I want to talk about what happened earlier." he said.
Dean groaned. He did not want to have to bring this up again. "Cas, can we please not talk about this?"
"We need to talk about it Dean." he said coating the words in venom.
"Ok fine let's go back to you insulting me!" I hissed at him.
Cas glared at him intensely. "They are not insults if they are true. You are lazy, irresponsible, obnoxious, selfish and plain rude!" he spat at him.
The hunter narrowed his eyes at him. "Or like you're so perfect? You are dense, arrogant, condescending, and brutally honest and frankly you annoy freaking annoy me!" he barked at Cas. Dean realized how harsh his words were. "Wait Cas-"
Cas' eyes started to tear up. "Well maybe since you think I am so annoying I guess I will just leave!" he shouted as he stood up.
"Cas wait-"
"Goodbye Dean." he choked out through the sobs.
With a flutter of his wings he was gone.
Cas flew to his safe place. It was the one place where he was safe from everyone. No one in Heaven or Hell knew about his safe place. He sunk to the ground on his knees and clutched both hands to his chest. He sobbed at the pain in his chest and cried out into the night. He slumped to the ground in a broken mess.
Nothing could numb the pain of a broken heart especially when it was broken by none other than Dean Winchester.
Dean yelled out into the night. He had just hurt his angel and now he had no idea where he was or if he was coming back. The more Dean thought it over the more he understood Cas' viewpoint. Dean knew he was a pain in the ass and he knew that one day Cas would grow tired of his immaturity.
Dean slumped into a chair and tried to bite back the tears that were threatening to fall onto his face.
Dean did the only thing he could at the moment.
"Cas I know you can hear me. I am so so sorry about what I said. I didn't mean any of it. Please just come back to me. I love you." he sobbed.
Dean waited for a while before praying again.
"Cas please just come back to me. I know I don't deserve you. But please come back. I love you Cas. I love you so much."
After about an hour Dean grabbed his car keys and headed down to a flower shop.
He was going to find Castiel and apologize to him in the most romantic way possible.
Cas had no idea how much time had passed. He was lying on his side in a field. He had stopped crying long ago but the heartbreak was still raw and fresh.
Cas had heard the prayers but he was not going to go to the hunter and swallow his pride. He couldn't bear having his heart broken again. He loved Dean more than anything. But their relationship was extremely dysfunctional. Being with Dean like was being on a roller coaster. They had their ups and downs and either Cas would enjoy the ride or he would crash and burn.
Cas stared in the night sky as it started to rain. Big fat heavy drops landed on Castiel but he didn't care anymore. Perhaps the rain would clear his mind.
"What am I supposed to do?" Cas shouted into the storm. The rain fell quicker and harder. Lightning lit up the sky as thunder rumbled overhead.
Dean sped down the road flying over the asphalt to his angel. He knew that Cas was in his safe place. Raindrops began to attack Dean's car. He simply drove faster. There was nothing that would keep him from Castiel.
When Dean finally made it to the clearing he grabbed the box and ran out into the rain. He found Cas lying on the ground. The raindrops fell heavily on him and he barely seemed phased by it.
"Cas." he shouted to the figure lying on the ground.
Castiel didn't move from his spot. He thought he had imagined Dean's voice.
"Cas would you look at me?" Dean shouted.
Cas turned to voice and saw Dean standing a few feet from him soaked from the rain. "Leave me alone Dean." he yelled.
Dean kneeled next to Cas. "Cas I will never leave you alone. No matter what happens I will always be by your side." he shouted over the thunder.
Cas sat up and looked at the hunter. Dean looked sorry and vulnerable. Cas couldn't just turn him down.
"I brought you this." he said opening the box he was carrying. He pulled out a single pure white rose. "Can you find it in your heart to forgive me?" he asked giving Cas the rose.
Cas looked at it before looking up at Dean. "Dean you may be a complete ass-butt but at the end of the day I love you." he smiled.
"So you forgive me?" the hunter asked full of hope.
Cas captured Dean's lips in a brief kiss. "Of course I do."
Dean pulled the angel into his arms and held him close. "I love you Cas." he said into his hair.
"I love you too Dean." Cas said into his neck.
And so the hunter and the angel overcame the devastating situation that they found themselves in. Dean could not live without Cas and Cas didn't want to live without Dean. The two men's love continued to swell as time went on.
They would never leave each other's side no matter what.
Or so they thought...
So if you're reading this that means the first chapter of the sequel will be here shortly. I want school to calm down a bit before I start posting. Thank all so much for reading! Just a few weeks more!
