It's currently two in the morning and I'm FINALLY finishing this story. So worth it though.

Dead silence met his words.

"WHAT?" Karina leapt out of her seat, eyes wide. "Why didn't you tell us?"

"Because I knew you'd act like this." Lucifer gestured to their reactions; Barnaby hadn't moved an inch; and the others moved quickly to sit down again. This was information that they hadn't expected to receive. It was highly entertaining for the other demons in the room though. Definitely worth enduring the high pitched shrieking.

"You can help protect the city, Kotetsu!" Karina's voice rose once again over the clamor. Lucifer frowned. He didn't like that name, and it seemed that the others hadn't figured that out yet. Wait, protect the city? He didn't really want to. What He wanted to do was spend time with His mate.

"You seem to have misheard." His voice became a deadly purr, completely confusing the others. "I'd rather not protect anything expect what's mine. The city isn't mine; therefore I'm not going to bother putting in the time and energy to protect it." Nathan nodded, he understood the reasoning behind the words, after all, he had been good at reading Kote- no, Lucifer's emotions. He understood that the Demon wanted time with Barnaby, but it seemed that he was the only one who did. Keith was nodding slightly, it seemed that he too got the underlying message, and he turned to look Nathan in the eye before nodding and whispering into Ivan's ear. Anthony hadn't even reacted, though Nathan was sure that he understood as well. Hell, the man had been close to Lucifer than anyone else had been, so it was to be expected. Hell, even Kadae understood, and he was extremely young.

Karina however, wasn't having it, and boy did she let herself be known. Her voice rose higher and higher, the others flinching minutely when it hit a note that made them uncomfortable. Lucifer's eyes narrowed slightly. Seeing as His ears were more sensitive, He didn't like the high pitches that she was using. And the tone? Oh, He definitely didn't like that. There was no one who would ever ever ever get away with that against His mate. And judging by the fact that that Barnaby looked ready to rip her apart, He knew that He wasn't the only one who currently had some form of problem with the woman. The difference was that He was about ready to tear her into many different pieces. Preferably really small ones.

The Demon King allowed a small frown to stretch across his features. There was a reason why he didn't like interacting with others; it was to irritating, and much of the time it wasn't worth the trouble. Turning His attention back to the 'conversation', He froze when she called His mate a whore. That did it. His eyes narrowed darkly and the Demon King stood up slowly.

"If you just called my intended Bond Mate a whore, then I suggest you run really really fast and hope I don't catch up to you." Karina swallowed heavily and bolted for the door as Lucifer sank back down into his seat and just sat there, watching the others quietly. They, naturally, were watching him as well, nervous around the Demon as he had just threatened one of their own. None of them were stupid enough to go against the male though, and slowly they stood up and filed quietly out of the house.

Nearly Thirty years later:

'Surprisingly', Nathan thought, 'It was a wonder Karina was still alive.' He wondered why she even still was in the HERO business anyway. She never really had forgiven Lucifer for threatening her and throwing her out of the house, and Nathan was pretty sure that she was planning something. The only thing was that he wasn't sure what, though he was pretty sure that he didn't want to know. Mainly because whatever it was, it certainly wasn't going to be pretty. Turning his gaze towards the top of the building, he noted a blonde figure standing on the roof, and he snuck away from the others to see who it was. Though, he did a small idea as to the identity. When he opened the door to the roof, the concrete laid spread out in front of him, and yes, there was the young blonde. He was cute too, but there was a warning bell ringing clearly in the back of his head. Flirting with this one was definitely going to be an extreme hazard to his health. The winged Demon; as he know recognized the man to be; turned around and Nathan felt his breath catch in his throat. It couldn't be….. but it was. He smiled softly and took a step forward. The figure smiled softly and hugged him before parting his lips.

When he returned to the others, they were waiting silently for him, and it was only when they were back at the base did he turn around and a small smirk crawled up his lips. This was definitely too good of a moment to pass up.

"Barnaby says 'Hello'." The others froze. "I saw him earlier." Then they moved, crowding up to Nathan and asking questions. Karina frowned, but attempted to join them anyway. But the look Nathan gave her seemed to solve that problem, and she slunk off.

"I've got information."

"Age?" Ivan piped up from where he and Keith were cuddling.

"He's an immortal Demon now. The Queen."

"Home?"

"From what he's told me, it's a huge mansion. Even bigger than the one that we visited. But we're welcome there any time we want to visit."

Anthony nodded. "I've got one. Children?"

"Twins boys and a baby girl." Nathan handed out pictures and the others couldn't help but coo at them.

"Is he happy?"

"From what I've seen? Yeah, definitely. Lucifer treats him really well." Nathan laughed. "I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm actually jealous of him."

"I wonder if we can visit….."

"We probably can. Minus Karina though. Though it seems that Lucifer really was Barnaby's Demon in Disguise."

I can't believe that I actually got around to finishing this. Thank God, now I only have three other stories I have to worry about.
